Johnny and June Carter Cash were the picture of 'soul mates' ... Married for over 35+ years. After Junes passing, we lost Johnny 4 months later. He was completely lost without her. That's true love.

In the UK, we only heard the Nancy Sinatra/Lee Hazlewood version which was a follow on to her James Bond song 'You only live Twice' from the movie of the same name. I only heard this version when I got his greatest hits album.

Mother Maybelle Carter was an Addington before she married. She is a cousin of mine. I also live right across the mountain from their home place, the Carter Fold.

Think the very beginning of AM radio. Maybelle's first generation of the Carter family goes back that far. That is their significance. Maybe the first country, folk and gospel to ever go out over the airwaves.
Johnny's show is essential viewing. A lot of people dropped by--Joni Mitchell and Johnny's buddy Bob Dylan, to name a couple.

You should check out "I Walked the Line" and "Ring of Fire". June was a bit of a comedienne. Chet Atkins played for the Carter Family.
I don't remember the show ever being in reruns either . But back then , they used to film more episodes per season than they do now . They also used to make shows for the summer months instead of doing reruns . How many times can anyone watch I Love Lucy or Gilligan's Island ?
Great hearing some Johnny Cash and June of course ,got given a copy of his album he produced from San Quentin. I very near wore the grooves off that album 😂

Mr Cash is part of the million dollar qrute. Sun records. Jerry Lee Lewis Carl Perkins and the king Elvis. They sang together in the early days. Jerry was the last to go to rock n roll heaven. Texas.

The Carter family was very big in the 50's
My favourite Johnny and June Carter duet is “Far Side Banks of Jordan” which is an eerie song when you consider the order in which Johnny and June Carter both left this world. My favourite Johnny Cash song is “Man in White”. For a bit of fun have a listen to the Andrews Sisters singing “Don’t Bring Lulu”.
