Love Aster Lake, but never made it to the tarns before. Now I have to go 😁. So much more water in behind Aster compared to when we were there in Sept, didn’t need to ford at all.
@@RockyMountainScrambler same with the snow bridge on the head wall. We bumped into it when we did it in August 2013 and had to scramble like you did, but this Sept it was all gone and trail was clear. The re-routes up the first head wall are great, but the one at the top threw us for a loop as most maps haven’t been updated
@@twoguysinthewoods1486 Ok, the one at the top you mention, was that by the ‘cabin’? We doubled back to try to find the route, and then went a way I’m not sure was ‘right’ but it was real pretty and got us there 😆
@@RockyMountainScrambler yup. The trail now branches off before the CO cabin and heads down parallel to the creek. It threw us off as it wasn't the way we took before and didn't match the GPS track. The old trail hugged the side of the creek (and in some cases was under the creek). We too hiked back and followed the old route, only to bump into some hikers coming up the new route. We took it on the way back down and it was much easier
Thanks for episode 1 of section C. Did you take the Northover Ridge route because you couldn't get campground reservations at Turbine Canyon? Or is this a new alternate? This area around the Upper Kananaskis Lake looks great. Petain Basin also looked very beautiful. I've been in the area but didn't do any trails around Upper Kananaskis Lake. Just one a bit more to the East off Highway 40 up to Elbow Lake and Rae Glacier.
You’re welcome! We did it because we had always wanted to do the Northover. We did try to get a spot at Aster Lake, but it booked up in about 2seconds. Petain was soooooo cool!
Very beautiful nature! 🤩🏔🌸🌼Amazing track!!👍🙌
Thank you ☺️

Thanks so much Doug, the scenery was top notch ♥️☺️
Stunning views from your campsite
It was definitely a top 5 campsite ⛺️
So beautiful! Sad I won't get to see section C this summer
Thanks for watching!

I would love to camp at Aster, what a spot 😍 And that’s so interesting about the fording!

great video. I usually only get as far as fossil falls.
It’s a steep hike up!
at minute 8:36 the side of the hill looks like there had been a land slide at one time. What do you think?
Oh ya, could be!
That Xmid looking good
Heck yes 🙌🏻
@@RockyMountainScrambler better send that shot to @dandurston
@@JimGerHikes he’s definitely welcome to it :) Thanks Jim
