this song may not be a beatle song, but it is up there with the best fab four songs of all time, together with don't look back in anger. such a beautiful song written by one of our generation's best songwriter.
All the "guitar tutor experts" on RUclips who tell you that when you are strumming you should strum from your elbow and then don't get a quarter of the sound that Noel gets from the guitar should watch this and then re-write their training methods. It's incredible to think that if Liam hadn't been such a bell at times then Noel probably wouldn't have had to learn to sing properly and then you wouldn't get sets like this... Noel mainly started singing because Liam pissed off halfway through a concert, saying that he had a sore throat...
I saw oasis maybe 30 times from 1995 till the end. Liams voice went during the morning glory tour. And he never got it back. As for walking off. I lost count of how often he did it. Many reasons. Mostly his voice from drinking singing and howling at the top of his range. And it’s true Noel had to finish the gigs. Noel says Liams peak, the bands peak was Knebworth. In fact that gig was better in the crowd than on the stage. The Earls Court gig to Main Road and the unreal Dublin gigs pre Knebworth was the peak.
love this song, but i never thought i would truly understand the feeling of losing someone who is important to me,my dad just died few weeks ago and i didn't know he was gonna leave me until the last few days of his life because my mom didn't want me to feel sad and they want me to get a good grades...and the last words he said to me is: that's my good girl...now just leave. He always see himself as the shelter of us,and he barely showed how much he loved me. Now he's gone, I'm so regret not telling him how much i love him,i miss him...
I find the intro to this song almost unrecognizable when that big, giant electric guitar riff isn't being played! They had a brilliant album, if the song arrangements & the production would've been dramatically different. That's what I think, anyhow. Listen to this! Why wouldn't you record it like this, just Noel & an acoustic guitar, maybe a piano or summat, & let em do THIS?!! Know what I'm saying, man? Or I was listening to It's Gettin' Better, Man! live @ The Rosemont Horizon, Chicago '98, where that legendary version of Noel doing 'Slide Away' came from, & it's actually a good tune, just Noel & Bonehead's two guitars, as opposed to 35 fucking overdubs, & it doesn't go on FOREVER til it fades out, either! It actually ends @ a decent run! And it's so much the better for it. Same for My Big Mouth from Knebworth. That's a beast of a tune, man! It's bloated & overproduced, & Liam's vocal isn't even close to his Knebworth one, either. They had a great record.
I wish noel would record an album with all of these acoustic versions he’s done over the years. They’re always so so beautiful

No he didn't!
Strumming from the elbow…..F**k off man ffs!
@@astromanicdave Yeah I only saw them about 5 times live but it's no wonder Noel got fed up with all Liam's shit.
Hes strumming from his elbow
pure soul
Beautiful! I wish I could do that 🎸
I’ve got to watch moreJust discovered this
And, did you?
And, did you?
No I didn’t. It was almost perfect but no song is exactly.
But thanks for replying. I will keep this in my email so I can always remember this song.

love this song, but i never thought i would truly understand the feeling of losing someone who is important to me,my dad just died few weeks ago and i didn't know he was gonna leave me until the last few days of his life because my mom didn't want me to feel sad and they want me to get a good grades...and the last words he said to me is: that's my good girl...now just leave. He always see himself as the shelter of us,and he barely showed how much he loved me. Now he's gone, I'm so regret not telling him how much i love him,i miss him...
That pulled a tear from my eye dint seem right not letting you know that. Heal well
I’m so sorry for your loss, its so hard losing someone you love.
he knows
Noel is a amazing composer.
Liam just was completing.
Incredible
Good version mr Noel
Absolutely gorgeous.
Seen my Dad die in hospital after not seeing him for over 10 years in 2017 and the "need more time just to make things right" gets me every time 😢
A giant of songwriting

Brilliant!
He's so good looking it hurts.
💚
Still is, he aged gracefully methinks
