People who’re commenting about age of consent in Islam, you guys need to leave your comfortable matrix and go to the rural parts of the world to recognise the reality of millions of young women, where if their parents don’t get them married to a caring husband, they become public property, yes public property, when the father passes away. And in those circumstances many parents die early leaving young children all by themselves. Islam doesn’t say you must marry off your daughter as soon as she menstruates, rather gives a guideline to when a girl becomes a woman and may be ready for marriage. And Islam leaves the decision on the woman and her father. If they both decide it’s time for her to get married the father can make the arrangements. By the way biology will tell you as soon as a male or female reach puberty, biologically they are ready to reproduce and not a child (boy/girl) anymore rather young men and young women. This idea of “teenage” is just popped up in the last century when the globalists were getting all the women out of their homes and shoving them into the workforce.
By the way, in the west ‘girls’ are free to have sex as young as 11/12 or even younger than that. But getting married? Oh noooo! That should be looked down upon. May I ask why? Islam forbids sex without marriage. That is why Islam gives the option to get married to the young people as soon as they are interested in exploring their sexual desires, where both the young man and woman will learn about the responsibilities that also comes with the desires and protect the rights of both of them. Because of unmarried “teenage pregnancies” millions of unborn children are killed in the west each year. Are you happy about that? It also creates lots of single “teenage” mums. If you’re okay with that, I have nothing to say to you.

I didn't find much of Ali's statement to be dubious or controversial at all. And I'm not Muslim.
I'm not sure that God ever sent any prophets, whether "moses" (if he existed), abraham, jesus or mohammed. I also can't condone the unnecessary cruelty and atrocities that the "old testament" says were ordered or celebrated by God. So I can't join any religion that refuses to reject the vile sick content in the old testament / the torah, whether chrisianity or islam or judaism.
But almost everything Ali said today was sensible, intellectually and morally sound.

She may not be an adult from YOUR societal standpoint but biology will disagree with you. As soon as a child female or male reach normal puberty she or he becomes adult who is ready to have sex and reproduce. But here’s the thing, Islam not only consider biological maturity but also emotional maturity. Therefore Islam doesn’t say what age a woman or a man SHOULD get marry, rather gives a guideline. Islam leaves it upon the parents and the young man and woman to decide when he/she is physically and emotionally ready to explore their sexual desires and get married. Like all other Abrahamic religions, Islam prohibits sex without marriage. So it gives the young people the right to get married when they are willing to get involved with the opposite gender. Which also protect their rights and teaches them responsibilities that come with the desires. That’s why you won’t see Muslims killing babies like the non Muslim unmarried “teenage pregnant” women.

You answered a question about what is permissible in Islam as far as marriage LITERALLY referencing a chapter called 'THE DIVORCE'. Explanation: 1.) The verse uses the word "Nisa" which translates to Woman so it is clearly not talking about a prepubescent child as we all know in islam you are NOT allowed to marry a child. 2.) In the verse it discusses divorce and menstrual cycles. An adult woman with an irregular period can ovulate and get pregnant, Islam says to not divorce your wife during such period as it is considered unjust to divorce a woman while she is or could be pregnant.

Quran (33:50) - "O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those (slaves) whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee" This is one of several personal-sounding verses "from Allah" narrated by Muhammad - in this case allowing a virtually unlimited supply of s*x partners. Other Muslims are restricted to four wives, but they may also have s*x with any number of slaves, following the example of their prophet.
Quran (23:5-6) - "..who abstain from s*x, except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess..." This verse permits the slave-owner to have s*x with his slaves. See also Quran (70:29-30). The Quran is a small book, so if Allah used valuable space to repeat the same point four times, s*x slavery must be very important to him. The message of this verse, which prescribes the rules of retaliation for murder, is that all humans are not created equal. The human value of a slave is less than that of a free person (and a woman's worth is also distinguished from that of a man).
