I love that you addressed the issues of needing to entice yourself to get into the editing space, eliminate distractions, but also ensure that you moved around. I can vouch for the drink-enough-water-to-force-you-to-get-up-to-pee method. Also great note at the end about finding your editing voice.

My laptop is pretty much on its death bed as well, its had a broken screen for 11 years i got the screen fixed not to long ago, the speakers don't work for mine and it won't charge so i keep the charger in to keep it on (its an acer laptop dark red)

there is a free way to get final cut pro! you look up final cut pro free trial and click on the link from apple. the trial lasts 90 days and when those days are up or almost up and you redownload it, your laptop will still keep your libraries from your previous trial so all your work is never gone.
i use davinci resolve 16 and its free but also pretty complicated i spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to add text and another 20 to figure out how to change it. but if u have it figured out its a really good editing program!

Have you heard of DaVinci Resolve? That’s another FREE editing software that many pros use, and has been featured on a lot of huge block buster films, even. It has both a free version and a pro/studio version that’s just over $200, but even the free version has most of the editing features that you’d need (cutting, keyframing, audio mixing, etc). You can get it on the Black Magic Design website. Just thought I’d throw that out there!! Thank you for making this video! ☺️

i use vllo for editing and i really like it. you can download on the computer or the phone and it's pretty simple to figure out.
