I disagree, I’ve been using m855 this wipe and with the changes battle state made I feel like that ammo is OP now. With 955 so expensive m855 is an excellent ammo. I’ve destroyed plenty of fat pmcs this wipe with 855.

we need to come together as a community and decide what the best 5.56 ammo is. m856a1 has lower pin with more flesh damage, but m855a1 has slightly more penetration that would help you bunch through armor. Lupo said 56 has more Pen, but i truly dont know because i dont play the game for a living.
55a1 has more pen. 43 pen vs 37 pen.
this translates to guaranteed (ignoring ricochet) pen on a class 4 armour vs not.
Also the damage difference is 56a1 has 51 and 55a1 has 45
this translates to: 1 penetrating bullet kills on the head (35 hp) for both bullets
2 penetrating bullet kills on the thorax (80 hp) for both bullets
so assuming you can aim worth a dam, you want the 56a1. If you cant aim and you are just spraying, you still probably need 2 hits in the chest to kill someone anyway, so get the better ammo.

I don't think its as simple as Look at the Pen Value.
Veritas goes into depth as to why it is not only possible but pretty reliable, for "trash Ammo" to destroy chads wearing class 5 or 6 armor. You can have a bullet with a low pen chance, but a high fragmentation and armor damage and it will reliably take down anyone... for half the cost.
Dear lord... last time I decided to Loot till last minute at Interchange I got shot in the tummy by a lucky mosin scav.... died just meters of an extract due to exaustion

Major problem i have of this game is that the walking sounds like a heard of animals no one walks that loudly even with gear on and the rain is thousand percent way to loud also
You'd be surprised how loud you actually are. Hell in vietnam it was a death sentence to have a half full canteen because they could hear you walking around. In a post apocalyptic type world like this game, with no noise pollution outside of just the people, id imagine you could hear A LOT

I legit only been exit camped there like 3 times in a 500 hour timeframe of playing interchange.
I must have some sort of freak fucking luck rng on that aspect.

Now this isn’t a self plug by any means, though saying it makes it sound like it lol. I stream myself and to be honest never wanted to be tied down to a game like most community’s. I wanted a community with an assortment. So when I heard you talking about yours it made me happy to hear that your community is amazing and hope to have one like yours one day.

What is the best ammo to use early game? I just picked this up about a week ago and am sitting at level 6 with a 19% survival. I am not good. Like i get that. but what should i be looking at running in my ak74 which is what i have access to? also my stash seems to sit around the same stuff. i have 1 good raid and then 2-3 ones where i die and lose all my gear. How to not do this? besides be better.
good AK ammo is anything with a B, so BP, BT, BS or Igolnik. Also play slow and have a map up. Its tough and sometimes you die a lot but just find a route where you can loot a lot for money. (IE a route with some Safes or good rooms.) Takes time to get better and sometimes you will die no matter what.
level 10 is when you can buy off the flea market. till then just run whatever you get from Scav runs and learn the maps best you can.
Scav as much as possible and figure out where the hotspots are on maps, avoid them till your confident in your gear
The 5.45 PS ammo is fairly standard and can reliably kill Class 2 armors (most scavs wear this at the bare minimum)
Avoid the FMJ, SP and HP rounds at first, they have specific uses. PP ammo is good for its price.
