Or Tor Kor Market is an indoor upscale market in Bangkok where you can find the absolute top of the top in terms of Thai food, fruit, vegetables and fresh products. It has been established by the Thai Ministry of agriculture to promote Thailand food and attracts every day lots of locals and tourists.
The fact that this market contains a huge food court, that almost reminds me of the hawker centres is Singapore, makes it all more attractive. Walking around the market is just a feast for the eye (and the stomach!), with all those vibrant colours given by the freshest fruits, the insane curries, the incredible seafood.
The market is located in the Chatuchak area, so if you are visiting the famous homonymous market, there are no excuses for not stopping here. For me, this is a place you should visit in any case if you travel to Bangkok. Prices tend to be on the higher side but given the quality one can't certainly complain.
In this Thai food vlog you can have a look at my selection of street food I decided try at this market: the wonderful and creamy Massaman curry (which I found outrageously delicious), some high quality chicken skewers, the famous fruits of Thailand durian and mangosteen, and a delicious bowl of noodles with braised roasted duck in soy sauce. Normally Thais always eat massaman curry with rice not noodles but whatever just eat the way you want.
Yes, the real foodie can appreciate durians.
Yeah not sure what pushed me to go for noodles in that one 😅 Either way, it was one of the best curry I've had in my life! And yeah, Durian is now also my official favourite fruit in the world right now. They don't call it the king of fruits for nothing.
