    First guitar I bought back in high school (2001), Jackson X series JS20, still use it to this day and I prefer it over my more expensive Les Paul custom on most days. Has a few little upgrades, the humbucker pickups are still stock as I wanted to retain it's originality, there's just something special about it. It also has the reverse headstock, not to brag or anything ;)

    My issues with Jackson was that every guitar had that vintage metal vibe. The only one the ripped of my pants (and I had a lot Jacksons) was the Mick Thomson signature.

      if by vintage you mean the 80s, then it is bad@ss.

    • @anemonaloco
      @anemonaloco Год назад +1

      Jackson guitars are certainly NOT vintage guitars. it was all built up with innovative ideas. if you don't like the sound of the 80s you should work with your amp, pedals, and/or ultimately your pickups. i like either the custom 5 or the Black Winter on the bridge and the Jazz on the neck, but that's just my taste. the only two differences with the Mick Thomson signature are a thinner neck and that the floyd rose is locked, other than that is just a regular soloist. hope that helps.

    I love Jackson. Have a RR24 from 2007, RR1 2006 and SL1 1998. Amazing guitars BUT I really feel ESP are the better overall guitars. Especially when it comes to lower end models like LTD, they completely overshadow them in my opinion for the import models. Both great guitar companies but as big as a fan of Jackson I’ve been for many years I think they’ve been surpassed

    I have a JS11 I bought used for $100. Better than new because the previous owner had it set up superbly. I have three JS guitars now because that one was so good. Got a Jackson Kelly JS32 T (indonesian) again used with great set up $160. Got a JS1X minion RR for $150 brand new, totally unplayable with factory skinny strings, I put 11s on it and its playable now and sounds great but I really need to file the nut slots so the strings will set all the way down in the nut but I am having a new quality nut intalled and having a set up done to it, its so easy to play and learn on this minion and it sounds fantastic so its worth having the work done on it...I can do the work myself but for me its way better when I a professional does it...

    people complain that Jackson is expensive and while it is indeed. i would have one expensive but genuine guitar rather than a cheap clone. for instance, there is not better neck for a shredder than the Jackson Soloist. there is not better wood combination than the Alder body, maple neck with ebony fretboard just like the USA select, the MJ Japan and the SL3 USA series come with. say whatever you want, but you can't beat those two facts.

    As of this week I own jacksons built in Indonesia, Mexico, Japan, and USA. I wouldn't recommend the Indonesian, but the other three locations are unbeatable. Best bang for the buck I would guess is a used mexican Dinky Pro about 5-10 years old.

    • @freddyferrillo9704
      @freddyferrillo9704 2 года назад

      Best bang for the buck? Not in my area! 2,200 for a Soloist made in Japan. An ESP made in Japan is 1,600 and it's better. Better hardware, better tremelo systems, pick-ups, and the quality over all is better. But that's my opinion only. Except the price.....Jackson cost more! Way more in some cases. And there isn't any reason for it. Except for that they wanna charge a fortune because it says Jackson. That's it. They don't even give you a case after you spend thousands. Jackson ain't the same as it once was.

    ESP are better these days. It's true that Jackson used to be "KING." But not anymore IMO. Their quality control department went bad. Really bad. ESP are better and even less money too. The Jackson's I've seen have bad action and set-up. ESP comes ready to shred right out of the box every time. He even acknowledged this in the video.
    Don't get me wrong, Jackson are still a great metal guitar. But ESP puts more care into their brand. Jackson company is way different than it was back in the 80's. They seem to be after money rather than pride. That's only my opinion.

    Still, the better choice is to spend something like $500-$1000 on a USA Fender Stratocaster of any vintage. That will commit you to being slightly serious about learning how to play and will buy you a proper music instrument. It will get you to at least 95% of where you can potentially go with it, anything else it is you and not the instrument. These Jacksons feel like a waste of resources, painted blocks of unnecessarily harvested wood, material and human effort that probably cost $10 to make, $20 to package, $50 to ship around and the rest is costs/profits on the logistics chain all the way down to the retailer.

    Bro. You asked the question "Jackson best Metal Guitars?" and you never answered it. I hate such titles. To answer it: No Jackson are not the "best" Metal guitars. They are ok if you like pure 80s Vibes. But even in the own House there is a better Metal Brand: Charvel. The only worse "Metal" Brand is Kramer.....ok an BC Rich.......and Dean. There are some good Jacksons, but they are to expensive because they are custom Shop Instruments. The Question you should ask is: "Why should someone buy a Jackson and not a Ibanez, LTD, Charvel, Solar, even Harley Benton pricewise or some of the other 100000 Brands which do Powerstrats better than Jackson.
    The Kelly is ok, but neckdives still like Hell. The Vs are ok. The Rhoads is ok, but younger people dont care who RR was. Jackson has to renew itself. Like Kramer. 80s 80s 80s........the people who care about that extinct slowy....
