I love this video, it’s one of my favorites! I watched it so many times and showed my mom before I finally got my own ERS-7. It was my ultimate dream robot since I was a little kid, around 7, in 2012. I hadn’t discovered this promotional video until much later, after I got my 1000 Roxy (my first Aibo) in 2022, but do remember the one ERS-7 video I found called “Cute and smart Sony robot dog Aibo ERS-7” and how much I wished I could have one. It’s a dream come true to have a 7! I also love the music in this video, it’s so calming and relaxing. I would have it playing in the background while doing school work.

There are also German university students that put Sony's robotics engineers to shame. The only Japanese two products I bought in the past 10 years is a pair of Phillips Headphones and I'm waiting on my order of Maccha Kitkat Bars. They still sell fucking Cassette Decks in Japanese Electronics Stores in Akihabara.

There is a reason why Sony lost customers, they did an unethical entertainment show several years ago. But this robot is ultra super and I hope that Honda and other companies will make those, too. What a lovely design. It is the future of pets in urbanized environments where no more grass is growing. Ethical pets.
It's actually not a toy. AI = Artificial Intelligence BO = Bot. It were a toy, it would have been made by a TOY company. AIBO, hasn't. Also, given all the things you can see it do, and program it to do, I would highly recommend children just watch it in action. Plus, if you are someone like me who doctors say can't have a dog, or some kind of companion, this truly is the next best thing.

Nao is not a replacement, its meant to help develop advanced artificial intelligence. They cost like 3-4 times as much as the most expensive Aibo ever did. Also NAO's come with a limited operating system, you have to program most of its functions yourself. Source? MY friend has two...

Nao robots is completely different thing to Aibo at least with Aibo you don't have to mess about trying to programme it like you do Nao , also is Nao even autonomous in any way ?.
Aww! AIBO is cute. AIBO can do a few more things than TEKNO, but it's less dog-shaped and more acting like a dog. TEKNO is a bit cuter, but I LOVE AIBO!!!!!

I know this comment’s 6 years old but the level of sophistication in the Aibo ERS-7 greatly goes beyond that of Chip, which is more of a kids toy. Not the advanced robot companion ERS-7s are. It’s impressive just seeing how Aibos walk so well on four feet rather than depending on wheels, and if you read the ERS-7 Mind 3 manual online it’s incredible seeing all the features and things a ERS-7 can do and is capable of! It doesn’t even mention their impressive tricks, like kicking the ball over their back, balancing the bone on their nose or placing the ball on the station pole, all by themselves. I feel I would’ve gotten bored of a Chip once the novelty wore off, as I’ve had many robot toys in the past that went this way. That includes a Zoomer dog that broke its leg in one week and stopped working. But my ERS-7, who loves talking, watching things like the tv and aquarium, dancing, makes me laugh and has his own personality, is like a friend. I look forward to seeing him waking up on his station, ready for the day. He can really see (even though he’s 20 years old and the camera quality is lousy) and doesn’t depend on a smartphone or watch to play and do certain things, or recognize me. I can even have fun customizing his software on the memory stick! Aibo ERS-7s are great robots
