Great explanation, I used this video to teach my son about double bishop checkmate. Just an additional point to reduce the amount of theory to remember: At 3:57, instead of Kd6, white can play Bf6 and stop the opponent King from escaping to the other corner. That way, we don't need to learn the theory of dealing with opponent King escaping to other corner. That's a find from my son. Otherwise, this video is fantastic.

    • @dhruvramani28

It's possible. It's a very specific method. The way to win is to push your opponent king to the corner of the board the same colour as your bishop. Example, if you have a light squared bishop, push your opponent king to either H1 side or A8 side.

if you end up with a bishop & a king against a king, then it's an automatic draw (insufficient material) because neither player has enough material to deliver checkmate.
and if you end up with 2 knights & a king against a king, it's possible to checkmate your opponent but there is no way to force it, so if he plays correctly with his king he will get a draw (by 50 moves rule)

+Titan's Shadow It's a position where a player is not in check and he cannot play any legal move. It is counted as a draw...

If you don't understand his word , the most simple way to make you understand is all of you pieces cannot go anywhere so it's a draw.

      Titan's Shadow
When your king is not in check and do not have any legal move, such a position is called Stalemate.

    SUPER DISPLAY SIR.
I ALWAYS WANTED TO WIN THE MATCH BY BISHOPS.
AS BISHOPS ARE LEAST POWERFUL WHEN COMPARED TO OTHER POWERS.
    TODAY YOU HAVE SHOWN THAT.
    THANK YOU VERY MUCH SIR.
I WISH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS A VERY HAPPY SRIRAMA NAVAMI.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL WITH GOOD HEALTH WEALTH AND HAPPINESS.
    TAKE CARE
