  • When it comes to predicting future technology, Elon seems to miss the mark, at least some times.

I get the impression that there are many old software applications that are being rebadged as AI out of fashion.

I wish you had gotten footage of Albie trying to drag his bed into the bag as we were packing up his things that would have been amazing 😂

Elon's predictions on FSD have been correct each time. Based on the curve of success. FSD has been rebuilt completely 4 times.

The distinction between FSD and Starship primarily lies in their predictability. It's likely that the completion of Starship will take a set number of years. However, FSD's development might seem impossible until suddenly, it isn't. FSD's will happen overnight, it will be both immediate and unnoticeable. FSD will be like smart phones: there was a time when nobody had them, and then, seemingly all at once, everyone did. This transition didn't occur in a day, a year, or even a decade, but one day, we all woke up in a world where smart phones were ubiquitous, and no one even noticed it happen.

We are in the age of singularity. The greatest caesura since the existence of homo sapiens.
The Anticipator says: He is a genius. And he is a good father.
I think he's one of the good ones. I don't know why I think so. Maybe it's because he's so incredibly honest, even in the face of resistance.

1:18 well, elon is nuts, but he does get SOME things right (then screws them up later).

I doubt we will ever see a self driving tesla like he's been selling it as for over 10 years now (not sure if he's even been talking about it lately?). He was a fantastic hype machine long ago, but the lies eventually caught up with him and I feel like his fumbling with x is showing his truer colors.

    No James, no. Absolutely no.
Musk is most definitely not all knowing and in fact I consider him extremely dangerous with some of his political ideology.
You might choose to disagree. It's a free speech country.

I certainly don't think he's all knowing, that's kind of the point I'm making. Though I do understand perhaps why he says some of the things he says. Personally, I'd like it if he'd keep out of politics as far as possible and concentrate on rockets. AI and self driving is something I'm pleased he's pursuing, but I don't hold out much hope of it arriving soon, unfortunately.

Think you have to be careful how much trust/faith you put into Elon. He's a very rich man... That's all.. he's surrounded by a lot of very clever people and innovators that never get to see the day of light as they continue to make him richer by the day.
