We’ll played! That B-roll to live was done incredibly well, I rewound and listened to the transition 3 different times. Can’t imagine how long it took you to plan that out, absolutely brilliant! You are an amazing guitarist
So, Mary, you just proved that it is about 80% player and 20% instrument. While not quite the same reception as The Beatles enjoyed when they landed in New York, you are going to be recognized in the States. You are the bomb! Great to see you signing with Rick and Rhett. Enjoy your holiday.
I bet some of the other customers in there were LOVING the mini-concert they were getting :) I live close to SweetWater Sound, in Indiana and I love it when someone is really testing out and playing guitars. It's so fantastic to meet other musicians, especially ones who are outstanding players. I've made some amazing Aquaintences just by sitting and admiring :)
Welcome to the Big Apple. You make every guitar sound like a million dollars. Glad you got a chance to "chill" after the shopping! The best. Also thanks for the stuff you did with Beato and Shull. Great all around.
D’Angelico make great guitars, I had one of their travel guitars over lockdown and it was super fun to pick up and jam away on. Funnily enough I also gave it away!
Your just incredibly relaxing and enjoyable to journey with in this format Mary. You just got....something really intangible, quite difficult to pin down about your cadence in life on your vids.
Mary, love watching your journeys and listening to you play. Your dedication to fingerstyle is evident in your ever-increasing mastery of the style. I love that ending electric guitar tone at the end of this video. Can you share the guitar, pedals and amp combination you used? It's so sumptuously rich and warm.
Welcome! We have a granddaughter at school in NYC - music production and theater- you could leave the guitar with her! She has a beautiful singing voice.
I’ve had a jumbo acoustic LAG guitar for 12 years now and I have to say that I rarely find any other that sounds better to me. Seeing you play one was cool
If your around on the 31st come to my Blues Jam at the Red Lion 7-10! Great Vids! I thought you moved to NYC! Do a segment, the Jams been running 29 years! On Bleecker st!
GRATS on half a million subscribers. I remember first episode of Tuesday Talks when you had around 10k subscribers around 4 years ago, I think it was, what a growth in those years.. you gotta aim for 1m subs !
Welcome (back) to NY, Mary... We're practically neighbors now - I'm north of Manhattan, about 100 miles up the Hudson River... Have fun with the new guitar !
Cool video. As an intermediate guitarist its was great to see some advanced strumming combined with interesting chord fingerings combined with some barre chords and variations. I can barely do some of the patterns, but it is good to look forward to what I need to learn next.
The 14th street GC been there for almost 20 years! Bought many great instruments there 😀 Sad to hear that the Broadway got closed though, the staff there was really great and good that they re-allocated some of them
Mary, thank you for another great video and in NYC, cool! I do not shop at Guitar Center because of their business practices of buying out and taking over the independent shops and the small shops. But, thanks so much for recognizing the independent shops in the beginning, spot on!
Mary Spender in NYC! I like the sound of that! Even though I will probably never meet you, it's nice to know you are in NYC! Have fun, and don't forget to pick up that guitar when you are done!
WOW! So close to me. When are we meeting for lunch? LOL I am in Lancaster County, PA. About 2 1/2 hours away from NYC. Seriously Welcome to USA. Hope you enjoy your time. Be safe. There are a lot of nuts in NYC. God bless and safe travels.
Love this! I stopped in a GC last Wed...been a couple years since I visited one. Was actually looking for banjo, but none, so played a few nice classical guitars and started off playing "Long Island City" (my fav) and some Tom Petty songs. Glad you're in the U.S. again!
I have that exact same guitar! It’s my acoustic daily driver. It’s a big boy and I feel like I’m hugging a suitcase sometimes, but it sounds great and is easy to play. Good choice Mary!
The LAST time you went into a guitar store I fell head over heals in LOVE with a Martin D-14 you played .... Oh I wanted it BADDDDDD ... No such luck THIS time, but it was a REAL nice video. Welcome to NYC!
Cool, I visited a music store over the weekend and bought a Ukulele...it's awesome! And since I have a long background in guitar, it was very easy to pick up on! I'm very much into it...I never thought I'd buy a Uke, lol! Thanks for the upload, Mary!💜
I love Mary Spenders videos, so why am I not a subscriber yet your videos keep coming up on my feed.....time to rectify that ! Yay! I'm now a subscriber 😆😆😆
I love that GC in NY, I always go there when I’m visiting and I recently bought one of my guitars there too. I understand how the guy at the entrance felt bc I also probably would have fangirled had I walked in there and seen you just chilling and playing guitar hahah. I hope you’re having a nice trip!
Hi, Mary. Thanks for the video and the beautiful playing. That Guitar Center is actually the music shop I go to most often. I’m a British expat who teaches in a high-needs school in Brooklyn. If you haven’t decided what you’ll do with the guitar, I’d love to throw my hat in. I give free guitar lessons to students and could do with another one! I hope you have a wonderful trip :)
love this i'm a life time new yorker and still get excited when i visit manhattan i hung out with Ace Frehley in larchmont when it was open also Bernie Williams
I have been mistaken for someone else on several occasion, and for some reason I was actually hoping this was a case of mistaken identity as well. Mary would realize he is mistaken, then keep trolling him until he remembers who she really is.
Missed Mary by a few weeks in NYC. Come to Boston and I'm sure there are about 20 of us who will take you out fo great Italian food and 🙂guitar shopping
That transition from canned audio to live was SICK!!!!!!!
I thought "wait, did that just happen?" Fantastic!
We’ll played! That B-roll to live was done incredibly well, I rewound and listened to the transition 3 different times. Can’t imagine how long it took you to plan that out, absolutely brilliant! You are an amazing guitarist
@@cmflyer Really?

Dude she got recognised with a mask on ..... I'd call that a win
I think it's closer to 99% / 1%. A guitar, no matter how beautiful and/or expensive, sitting on a stand isn't going to make a sound.
So delightful.
My 9 year old refers to Mary as the Princess of the Guitar as we view her videos in our den.
High praise, indeed.
Kind of sweet that you are surprised to be recognized in a guitar shop. 😇
@barnett25 ....and her voice of course. 🇬🇧
What happens when I walk into a guitar store that's the title so she had probably the idea of getting recoognized :P
69 likes. Nice

I was NYC for the Christmas holiday - everyone said - its going to be soooo cold wear thermal -I am glad I didn't.
Great video! If you can get to the Martin Guitar factory in Nazareth PA, you will LOVE the museum (and factory tour when they resume giving tours).
I could sit and listen to you play for hours. Happy NGD!
Welcome to the USA! I am glad you are getting the opportunity to take a trip. Hope to see you in Seattle someday!
Glad you’re in the USA Mary.
I did this but it was 1976 and it was Manny's Music . Everything was in Black and White ..
Mary,
Love, love ❤ ya. You are in my city. So glad you are in the states. So great to almost see 👀 u. Hope to bump into you out there 🙃🎸
NICE singing on Rick Beato's 2 chord video. That rendering of Dreams was terrific.
Wonderful playing as always! I was in that GC on Saturday afternoon. Didn't dare go into the acoustic area. It was packed to the gills.
I bet some of the other customers in there were LOVING the mini-concert they were getting :) I live close to SweetWater Sound, in Indiana and I love it when someone is really testing out and playing guitars. I went to a open clinic and meet and greet with Steve Morse At SweetWater
Can tell right off you feel right at home with the D'angelica. Sounds gorgeous in your hands. Love the Mayer-sounding licks.
Mary - there is a lot of love for you in the US!
Mary, great sound from that guitar. I hope you're enjoying playing it. Welcome to NYC!
I hope you enjoy your time in NYC Mary. I know you’re an excellent musician. I really enjoyed hearing you play this n GC.
Fantastic gesture Mary .
Welcome to the Big Apple. You make every guitar sound like a million dollars.
Glad you got a chance to "chill" after the shopping!
The best. Also thanks for the stuff you did with Beato and Shull. Great all around.
Ritchie Blackmore did the same thing about 35 years ago. He used to buy dozens of guitars when he was in a guitar store.
Come to Texas, we're free here. Either way, glad you made it to the States again...
Welcome back, great choice! And as of today... uh... Stay warm? Lol
I am glad that I stumbled across her channel. Delightful.
I would love to have you come up to North Creek, NY in the Adirondacks and visit with us.
D’Angelico make great guitars, I had one of their travel guitars over lockdown and it was super fun to pick up and jam away on. Funnily enough I also gave it away!
Love to see you in Florida!
I suspect if you walk into a music store in Austin, Texas or Nashville, Tennessee, you will get recognized there too! We love what you do, Mary!
500k subs translates to millions, even 10s of millions, of views.
To be recognised shouldn't surprise Mary.
Oh that Tanglewood sounded sweet !
Your just incredibly relaxing and enjoyable to journey with in this format Mary. You just got....something really intangible, quite difficult to pin down about your cadence in life on your vids.
Engaging personality without pretense or any need to push ego to the fore.

María, tu forma de tocar es un regalo para mis oídos. ¿Tu paso por España influyó en tu forma de jugar?
Mary wears a mask into a shop and is instantly recognised. True legend she be.
I have been mistaken for someone else on several occasion, and for some reason I was actually hoping this was a case of mistaken identity as well. Mary would realize he is mistaken, then keep trolling him until he remembers who she really is.
There aren't many women as beautiful as she is. She stands out.

Dude it’s a staged video. She’s completely unknown in any place that matters . Fact
