Great video! I love them all (even Infatuation with Malevolence, which I always considered an official album), but I still have a soft spot for Purification Through Violence. I still remember getting this when it came out and it was fresh and ground breaking. I even love that crummy sound. That's my favorite. (Shameless plug: We just release a new album featuring John Longstreth on drums, check it out on my channel!)
@@duhquadman Killing on Adrenaline is essential in my eyes. I personally prefer it ever so slightly over Destroy the Opposition as their best album. The production just has such weight to it, so much bass and the drumming is outstanding - easily their heaviest sounding record because of that. Hard to recommend a single track, just press play and get 🤘 but if I had to pick a top 3: Killing on Adrenaline Intentional Manslaughter Fornication Terrorist
In The Trenches is my all time favourite Dying Fetus track. Absolutely disgusting and vile riffs (especially the intro riff) combined with the pure, unbridled hatred in the lyrics just makes the song perfect for me. Subjected To A Beating is also just laced with hatred and bouncy riffs that I just can't help but headbang to. The entire album is like this but goddamn those 2 tracks are goated.
Same. The Blood of Power is my favorite song of theirs, up there with For Us or Against Us imo. Not only the best Dying Fetus album but one of the best metal albums ever for my money
Killing on Adrenaline is just perfection pure switch down energy release with all those mighty riffs only if you didn't listen to it enough than you can't recognize it, I start introducing with Regin Supreme with strong belief it can't be better than this but after I in details completely listened to all other albums I realized I was wrong
Dying Fetus are just legendary in death metal. One of the first death metal bands I got into and pioneers of both brutal death metal and technical death metal. They blend both styles perfectly and all their albums range from good to great. Can’t wait for the new one this Friday and here would be my ranking: S - Destroy the Opposition, Descend into Depravity, Reign Supreme A - Stop at Nothing, Wrong One to Fuck With B - Killing on Adrenaline, War of Attrition C - Purification Through Violence
That's the album they were touring with when I got into them around 2007-08. It holds a special place in my heart, but, I can agree it's not their best. Definitely underrated though. Homicidal Retribution is definitely in my top 10 tracks from them. Got kneed in the face in a circle pit to that song live in '08. Some crazy guy was in the center running in the opposite direction as everyone else and I got tripped RIGHT as he was passing by and caught his knee as I went down. I was immediately pulled back up and shoved back into the thick of things. 10/10. Would suffer minor concussion again. Made me feel invincible in the pit afterwards. Seen them 3 times but it's been years. Gotta get to a show soon.
My Dying Fetus ranking has changed ever since the last Dying fetus tierlist ranking you did. I love them more now S: Reign Supreme, Destroy the Opposition A: Wrong One to Fuck With, Stop At Nothing, Descend into Depravity B: Purification through Violence, War of Attrition C: Killing on Adrenaline
Scary how much your list tracked with mine. I put several albums lower on the tier than you (like always) but I was surprised I put two higher on the tiered list than you: 'Killing on Adrenaline' one higher and 'Make Them Beg for Death' two higher. I'd put the last album on par with 'Stop at Nothing' in terms of song writing and strength of an album as an album. Great list as always.

Killing on Adrenaline is the best these guys have ever put out .. love that filthy 90s sound / production .. one of my first death metal albums I bought as a kid along with Deicide self titled , Blessed are the Sick and Eaten back to Life.. OSDM till’ death 🤘🏼🪱
War of Attrition is what got me into the band and I'd put it a lot higher. It feels like a rocket powered scalpal. Make Them Beg For Death is fucking sick. It's so weirdly warm and satisfying.
Aside from putting Reign Supreme in S tier, I agree with everything. They're super consistent. I also somehow keep getting them confused with Misery Index. Probably because Jason Netherton was in Dying Fetus for a few albums.
Really got into this band for the first time this year. Very late to the party, but I'm having a blast now. What an incredible band. I don't understand all the hate for "War of Attrition". That album just rips like hell and I have a great time every time I hear it. I really dig all the albums, but the first two are just slightly weaker, in my opinion. Perfection: Reign Supreme, Destroy the Opposition, Stop at Nothing Fantastic: Wrong One to Fuck With, War of Attrition, Make Them Beg for Death Great: Descend into Depravity Good: Killing on Adrenaline Okay: Purification Through Violence
Have to agree....Destroy the Opposition is their best. My unholy trinity of favorite death metal albums: 1) Kataklysm: Temple of Knowledge 2) Nile: In Their Darkened Shrines 3) Dying Fetus: Destroy the Opposition
Dying Fetus is my favorite Brutal Death Metal Band! Reign Supreme is my favorite Album, one of the best Drumming I've ever heard! Can't wait for my Copy of the new one to come! 💀🤘💀🤘💀🤘
I haven't really given the last 3 albums a chance. This drummer doesn't do it for me. He's very skilled, but I think he lacks creativity; he plays everything you'd expect where you'd expect it and doesn't seem to deviate. I would absolutely agree with Destroy the Opposition and Stop at Nothing, 2 of my all-time favorite records.
This new album is totally awesome. Never thought I would here a Dying Fetus album of this caliber again. Only listened to it 1 time and loved it straight away👌
To me it was like Destroy the Opposition with all their musical growth in the intervening 23 years thrown in. They’ve been on a major hot streak since Reign Supreme, but Make Them Beg is the best album in their discography after Destroy the Opposition IMO.
Sure, let’s do this again, hehe PERFECTION: Reign Supreme, Stop At Nothing, Destroy the Opposition (despite weak production) FANTASTIC: Descend Into Depravity, Killing On Adrenaline (despite weak production) GREAT: Make Them Beg For Death, Wrong One To Fuck With GOOD: War of Attrition OKAY: Purification Through Violence Would probably say Reign Supreme is the only “perfect” album, but the number of hours I’ve listened to the other albums says otherwise..
I was extremely disappointed with their new album. It feels like they were rushed to release it and the album feels extremely repetitive with very little standout moments (ending of feast of ashes is about it). Listen to when the trend ends where the first 1:10 is just one riff and they make a buildup towards the end and just repeat that same riff for the last 30 seconds. almost 2 minutes of a 4 minute song is just one riff. (Downpitching it a half step doesn't count) "When the trend ends" is just a lazier version of "Unmitigated Detestation" from their previous album. Most of the songs repeat boring sections ad nauseam. Unbridled fury is the same way its just repeating that same boring opening riff over and over throughout the song and while the ending is fantastic, it isn't worth the listen to get there. I understand that they have to tour a lot but I wish they had spent more time on these songs because they are my favorite band. I would rate it just barely higher then War of Attrition. People are rating this album way too high. Had it been worked on for a bit longer it could have been mindblowing. Even the recording quality feels off.
Haven’t heard the new one (I don’t know how you have, it’s not even out yet) but here’s my ranking so far: 1. Reign Supreme 2. Destroy the Opposition 3. They made the choice to become a 3 piece-band. They have been superior since the kept same line-up. Guess their newest, is shorter, because Wrong One... was so long. I see a difference of when ever you heard fetus the first time, if you heard them in 90’s/ early 00’s first time like me you always gonna have their older as highest and new ones as lowest, for me Killing on Adrenaline always be first, Destroy the Opposition, Purification, the new ones are good but i think even tho i like Stop at Nothing still one of their weakest, Vince was amazing in Criminal Element but i think for Fetus was not needed for a “front man” and specially when john still did majority of vocals.
Ok so I had to come back to this take. Each to their own, but fair dinkum are you fuckin serious 🤣🤣🤣 . Ps, I still luv ya but no way is Stop at Nothing better than Reign Supreme or anything they have done after it 🤘
