When i see this train...i cry. When i was a boy, 10 or 11 years old, i live near CP Locomotives in Barreiro. Sometimes i used to be go to the FIREDEPARTMENT near BARREIRO Trains and Boats station. Since 1984 until 2000 i saw that 1800 English Electric passing in rail track...I can remember when the train to Algarve depart from Barreiro, In those day, we (young boys) used to be go to the station and see all forigners, british and german, taking the train to Algarve. After that, CP managers KILL 1800 and cut hers, to junk yard. I missed that 1800.
Awesome video, used to love doing these, even though they did look like a 50, sounded far more like a 40, fantastic loco's sad to see what's happened recently.
Life has its surprises. I was in Braga in 1989 and caught a bus. The driver spoke fluent English with a Southern Accent. Turned out he worked in Reading for many years as a bus driver! Life is full of surprises😁
Sorry but my english is not very good. Our 1800's class are sisters of your class 50 locos. Now I have great news. Our 1805 locomotive had return to life pulling the historic presidencial train with tourists.
How I miss you, look at me coming out of Tunes 1996, beautiful times!

BARREIRO.
I wonder, do the drivers over there know that these engines have a follwing? Do they join in with the thrash?
Yes. Portuguese train drivers are very nice. I have done a few cabrides.
English Electric, Vulcan Foundry 1968
3.34 is the Driver a crank??
Do these have the intertial air filters as originally fitted to the Class 50?
@smleonard55 I have seen a model layout with some 1800s on it but cant help with the manufacturer, sorry

Oh yes. The Portuguese 1931s and 1961s ain't quite either. Irish 071s and French CC72000 are also worth looking at.
Monster, Monster, Monster. Thats fantastic.
Something different with some clasic EE thrown in.
Do you know if there is a model of this class?
Top quality thrash :)
@apachenoise I dont think there was any thing inbetween idle and full throttle.
