Good evening Nick & Jill and I’m somewhat disappointed that I watched the countdown at 19.58. and felt certain I’d be the first to watch and comment. Imagine my disappointment to find 32 people had not only watched, liked and commented before me! This was not only impossible but bloody cheating in my book! Then I realised, stupid me, that you’d given family and friends first rights to this! I have to say this is really not playing the RUclips game, in fact I’m seriously tempted to inform Google of your nepotism. That aside I’ll try through my anger to give a positive reply. My first comment is right at the beginning where Nick is certainly in need of a man bra. Also I thought the weather for January looked rather summery. However, the bridge twirl was truly beautiful. Yes the traffic on the roads is becoming a bloody problem, everyone driving a car should be made to pay £5000 a year tax! You then went through a gate but didn’t shut it properly! That goes against all of the countryside codes! However, the the gate of the week was OK but I thought the sixteen others were far better. Apart from all of the above comments I thought this a great film and I certainly enjoyed it all. In fact I’m going to give it FIVE STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Please don’t think I’m going soft, I’ll be judging your next stage very harshly indeed! 😂🤣🥲😅
yeah its a crazy time slot Mike. its a hot premiere time. not so much friends and family but great you-tubers. they are all keen to land that comment which is very helpful in our growth. nobody gets to see or start the video before 8:03pm on a Friday and then its all bets are off! 😂 definitely in need of a man bra, i’ll be ordering the next Nictoria Secrets Catalog as we speak, hopefully something in there that can present my moobs in a more pleasing fashion. Yes £5000 road tax is the answer. then the roads will just be full of rich you know whats that wont understand thats a problem for the rest of us! lots of gates on that section. we forgot to record a gate of the week, doh, i had to overlay audio from another gate on that one and the audio sounded truly horrible. our secrets out. less gates and better audio for the next 8 segments i promise! please judge the next one harshly, the next two instillments knock it out of the park. putting the final touches to day 4 before throwing myself into the lovely collab with mine and yours collaborator, is that a word? it is now. the lovely Alan Metalman. have an awesome weekend and i’ll be starting my Saturday night with my very favourite treat that is the rantaway. and its only 3 or 4 weeks away, our Billygoat production, rant on Ascona, terrible name, lots of rants, is inbound. ive been dreaming about the thumbnail for 3 months! 👍
Love these sort of walks,so many times i planned to do something like this ,but something always gets in the way.Love the info at the end to help people, thinking about doing this lovely walk.really looking forward to part 2 debs xx 🥾 👯 🤗
ah thanks Debs. this was a massive undertaking, started in July and just putting together now. this was the worst section but oh boy it does get better. if i mention long distance walks to jill i still get deadly objects thrown at my head. im glad that this footage is finally coming together in a way that might be helpful. all our love, have an awesome weekend xx
@@GENerationXplorers Yes and that road you was walking with bikes cars vans thought kitchen sink was next,is just like were we used to live, quick waffle when i our daughter finished her a levals we promised take her to disney land ,which is very large and we was so unfit,so walked around our village every day,and it was so like your road debs xx sorry gin waffle tireing day xx
Awesome! Thank you! and you are ours as we love vegas but with the exchange rate and energy crisis etc we have no idea if and when we can return we would have loved to visit for our 10 year anniversary in Sep 2024 but it seems to be looking more and more unlikely! so glad we are connected to you and your awesome channel! Have a great week Kenzo ❤️
thanks so much Cara and really great help you gave us last weekend. i was really flummoxed but you gave us some great options for the intro! have an awesome weekend! 👍
Brilliant presentation once again! What picturesque landscapes! This place looks like from a fairy tale, the weather could hardly be better for hiking than this. Once again you showed incredible energy throughout the entire video.
thank you so much Ervin, really appreciate that. thankfully we have enough summer footage in the bag, albeit mostly not edited, to keep those blue skies coming until they return to us once more! 👍🌞
That's a long journey to walk. There must be a lot of amazing buildings and other stuff to see along the way. The view at the end is absolutely amazing.
the relive was great wasn’t it? took a right deep dive to work out how to do it, especially with us not tracking our routes. relive is so keen on time stamps. fooling that six months later makes me feel like some insane hacker! thanks Bogi and Dennis xx
thank you so much Dave and Kathy, think its possibly the worst of the nine sections, things only get better here on in! that roadwork was scary! have an awesome weekend ♥️🇺🇸
Very sorry we missed your prem. ❤ Forest was lovely, lush and green! River is lovely going under the bridge! It reminds me of Richmond bridge in Tasmania, love it. You guys have the most beautiful and interesting walks over there, I really am quite envious but love to walk alongside you on yours. Love the info at the end! A wild camp be nice ⛺️ 🥰
Thanks guys never apologise for missing the premier the time difference is huge for you across the otherside of the 🌎 your comments are always lovely and appreciated! And we too love we have you guys taking us to places we may never get to visit ourselves! Stay awesome you lovely lot! ❤️

Like 95 👍 Greetings from Naples, Florida. Wow, that was quite a hike with beautiful views along the way. We enjoyed. Thank you for sharing, have a wonderful week. 💯
That's quite an expedition you planned there Nick & Jill😮! The 175km Cleveland Way certainly looks like an awesome trail to hike over many days and a great way to explore the region in details. The trail seems quite manageable on this part 1 with great views from the hilltops... I also lost count on how many gates you opened and shut...sorry😕😉. Looks like a wonderful adventure on this section (with the exception of the tranquil roadside bit😆) and look forward for the next episodes. Have a great weekend!
Well done guys that was a brilliant day one you done so well and its always great see in the warm weather and it was not that long ago we were all out in it .fantastic job guys
ah thanks Simon. yeah we found it super hard this time last year to put out content week after week with no filming in the bank. you go outside, the skies are grey, the sea is grey and the moors are brown, its just not very appealing for the audience. so went the extra mile to make sure that with the exception of the odd collab and Steam Punk Festival the next 4 and a half months will all be glorious summer time on this channel! hope your having a great weekend.catch you soon 👍 🌞
We’re just catching up now. Sorry we missed the premiere it’s been a pretty shocking day!! Amazing views, this looks like a gorgeous walk. Loved the river and stone bridge. Bet you were glad to get off that road. Very elegant stream crossing Jill! The Heather looks lovely. Those were lovely views at the end. Bad times they hadn’t trimmed their hedges!! Great info at the end. Cheers guys. Another great Vlog 🍻
thank you so much guys, sorry about your day, thats sad to hear. we are also playing catch up massively on pretty much everything but thats because ive taken two weeks off doing accounts and invoicing and four days off to get a square eyed three video series sat there. dont know how i’ll do the next six parts, but once we’ve caught up with everything else they are coming! was the worst part of the cleveland way to be fair. also the first part we tried. when we had to return along the 11 mile route jill was really cursing me at the 15 mile point and i think has been cursing me ever since. i cant mention the cleveland way or any other long distance path ever again without fear of being killed on the spot. this is a real labour of love. or is it hate? im not sure, but this hike tested us to the limits in almost every way imaginable! 😂😂 but looking at the lovely summery footage now and how it still fits our growing channel im happy with what ive seen before. hopefully it will be the blessing that was such an annoyance to do when we started it six months ago! hope you have an amazing weekend, sending all our love ♥️ 🍻
I'm so disappointed to have missed your premiere, but am very excited to be watching now. The narrow road looked rather scary with all that traffic buzzing by. Overall it was such a lovely walk through some very picturesque countryside. Hooray for lots of gates, lol! I'm looking forward to seeing part 2. Have a great weekend, Jill and Nick 💞
This was such a lovely hike that you did. The Cleveland Way sounds great especially as it ends up in beautiful Filey. This looked great though especially as it started with that monument showing the start of the Cleveland Way but also has Helmsley Castle, a 12th Century Abbey and an 18th Century Tuscan Temple . So you've got history and beauty there ! Shame about the noisy and fast cars though but the views along the way were amazing and I especially loved where you walked through the heather. We have never done any mountains or hills in England so this series will be sooo interesting to watch ! Really enjoyed this 😃 👍
Hi Anna and Alf, yeah there is some great history along this trail as well as some glorious views. We are not keen on road walking as you can tell from my scowls 😂 It’s just nice to share this trail with you all and bring some sunshine to these cold damp months! Have a super weekend ❤️
A cracking first section of this icon path Nick (shame there are lots of road sections (with the traffic 🥹)) But near the less in between some super countryside nice bridge twirl Jill 😊👍 Eager for section two 😊🙏🏼 Best wishes Simon 😊
thanks Simon, its sheer laziness on the part of The Cleveland Way designers part that there are road sections at all, i could easily avoid them by walking in the adjacent fields and hills where there is a lovely right of way that starts at Rievaulx Bridge and picks up the trail again at Cold Kirby. I certainly won’t be walking on that road section again! the trail improves very quickly im happy to say and there are some truly magnificent sections ahead! hope your having an awesome weekend. All the very best Nick and Jill ♥️ 🥾
Great route! My island is full of narrow roadways so I am used to walking in traffic aha. Makes me so angry when people don't stick to speed limits. Lots of wildlife and other animals (including people) on these narrow roads grrr 😡 Anywayyyyyy beautiful video! Thank you for bringing us all with you as always ❤
hi Winnie thanks so much for joining our premier, always an absolute pleasure having you there! you comments are always awesome too! You are right those roads were hairy and we too hate people that don’t stick to the limit! have a great weekend my lovely ❤️
Top effort to still twirl and swoop on a long-distance hike! Looked like a nice gentle start (in terms of elevation, not distance) to the Cleveland Way, looking forward to the rest 😎 ps I hate road walking too!
it was a long day mind, had to do the entire route, there and back. definitely a year where we try our hand at wild camping, there was some great spots just before you arrive at Sutton Bank visitor centre. real camping and accommodation available at the end of stage 2 so could have gone there the next day and freshened up and recharged all the equipment there. that road is an absolute nightmare, not enough room for one vehicle let along two or people. hope your having a great weekend. see you on the big screen tonight 👍
Holy moly that is a long trail 😂 you guys are troopers! 🤣 but looks like an amazing trail! I loved the views along the way! You guys gave me an idea because in Hong Kong, we do have a popular 100km long trail but split up into 10 sections, I’ve only done about half of the sections though. I’ll look into conquering that off my list.
Wonderful!! 😊 I get so much inspiration with your videos! ❤ Thank you for sharing such a professional, very well edited and pack with details video! I’m definitely smashing the like 👍
A beautiful hike, particularly as there's a real variation in scenery. Summer in the UK always looks so lovely as everything is green. Although I did smile at the comment 'it's quite warm today, the low 20s' As someone who lives in Australia, the low 20s is considered a cool day! And as a person who's perpetually cold at that temperature I'm still wearing a cardigan! I realise it does make a difference though when you're hiking and very active, the cooler the temperature the better.
Low 20s in about my max, anything about that and I am knackered, especially with all those steps. Not keen on the road walking but loved the man made lakes for attacking wildlife, cows are the exception mind. Lots of gates on this walk 😳 and that A170 did indeed look very peaceful and tranquil😖. When we were kids my dad would always stop at Sutton Bank on the way to Flamingoland (as I was always travel sick) and while me and my brother would marvel at the views my mother always used to pick some (lucky) heather for the front grill of the car - that must have been about 55 years ago now🥺. A nice view to finish with but a hefty taxi raid to get back to the car 🥴, cheers Alan
Great memories Alan, we do love Sutton Bank, its one of our goto places for an amazing circular that we also do several times a year to catch it in all weathers and seasons. The road work was horrendous, definitely not fit for walking on as there is barely enough room for cars to get down, yeah we did the entire route there and back, although on one of our segments we do opt for the taxi at that price and thought it was worth every penny to save our legs on that day! 😂 the bus link is close to useless, running late in the day, once on a saturday and sunday, summertime only. To benefit from it you would have to do the route in reverse, which the bus operator tried to convince me i should do! Got one bit of editing to finish up stage 4 then i’ll get to see the footage from the awesome “Grey Lady” collab! Have an awesome weekend! 👍
It’s a beautiful countryside. Be careful on those roadways. Awesome that you have the book to go by. It’s a wonderful area. I would love to walk there too! 👍😊🇨🇦
Absolutely beautiful route, so many views and lovely terrain. Nice to see Cold Kirby too. I loved those purple flowers along the path. Lots of gates and I hear ya on the traffic. Such great views though!
yes Graham it will be familiar to you 👍 thanks so much for watching! hope you are enjoying the weekend all be it a little breezy in our neck of the woods 👍
You had lovely weather on your hike, some good looking gates too! It looks like an easy trail to follow, I presume it was well waymarked? Amazing mileage! Phew! ❤
thank you Rachel, yes very easily way marked plus we didnt run into any disrespectful land owners across our route! phew. bad public transport links though so the majority of this 109 mile path was either doubling the mileage or adding significant mileage on. easily a 200 mile venture that jill will probably never forgive me for 😂😂
its a great route, especially if your a camper. there is great accommodation or transports for about a third of the route. a wild camper like yourself would tackle this with ease. for us? not so much 😂😂
Thanks Rachel, think we may have confused people putting them out but fortnightly with some good stuff inbetween! it was a hard slog even doing it in stages but we’ll see! have a great weekend ❤️
Great start the the trail! 😊 did you do this trail all in one or over a period of time? Just wondering how easy it is to get from one spot to another with transport if you done it a day at a time. I live so close to the trail and done lots of sections but haven’t walked the whole stretch.
did it between July and October Yasmin. the coastal sections have really good bus links but the Moors sections are terrible. there is a bus that runs once on a Saturday and Sunday in summertime only from Sutton Bank to Helmsley but its quite late in the day. could have only timewise used it to do the first section in reverse which we did consider but eventually ended up doing stage one all the way there and back. its relatively flat so it wasn’t too hard, although we did start to moan around the 15 mile mark! 👍
it really was tiresome this first stage and then some! Nick keeps saying ‘Cleveland way’ to me and I didn’t realise I had such a snarl 🤭😂 it was enjoyable but a chore at the same time if that’s possible! ❤️
new fortnightly series for the next 18:weeks. i’ll be throwing in different stuff on alternate weeks. hopefully metalman collab and the grey lady next friday 👍
God I miss the sunshine ☀️😃 loved this, it bought back a lot of nice memories xxx great video, looking fwd to the other sections Hope you both had a fab new year xx
Ah thanks so much, you were definitely our inspiration for this, you do amazing with all these long distance trails! Thanks for your help with the intro too, we’ll definitely be using it during these videos! hope you have a wonderful year, that sun will be back soon xx
Nice one guys. Just catching up. Looks a good walk but can’t understand why you have to road walk for a bit. Apart from that a really cool adventure. We were supposed to be up in Staithes at the start of Jan but other events took over. Will be catching up on the rest asap. 👍👍👍
Hi there Dave, great hearing from you, hope you and Sue are well. yes the road work is annoying and could easily be avoided by using a path that runs in an adjacent field. perhaps there wasn’t a path in the field when the route was created although that seems unlikely! Have an awesome week! Nick and Jill
I've been looking forward to your walk along the Cleveland Way. It didn't disappoint 👌.. I'd definitely do it again. I remember there was an "honesty shop" at Cold Kirby church and that we had Ham, Egg and Chips and lots of Tea at the Glider Airfield! Thanks for jogging my memory and for sharing your first section of the Cleveland Way 👍 Cheers Alistair 👍
Ah that sounds nice. There is still an honesty shop in the centre of Pickering. it really blows my mind, nice to see that such things can prevail in modern society. having done many a walk from Helmsley there is a far better way to get from Rievaulx Bridge to Cold Kirby that requires no road, its a mystery to me why The Cleveland Way opted for the roadwork at that section. id probably do it again but id always avoid that nasty road. Hope you are keeping well and we are looking forward to your next instalment! 👍
@@GENerationXplorers That sounds much better avoiding the road 👍 Looking forward to the next instalment. We've had so much rain, a lot of the fields are under water, can't see us having a water shortage this year... We've had a dry day today and maybe 2 or 3more this week so I hope to be out filming 🤔 Take care ATB Alistair
I thought I'd best start off with the first one in the series and watch them in order rather than the latest video. It was nice to be reminded of what summer looks like. Shame you couldn't see much of the Abbey from the route. The lakes looked very photogenic along with the bridge. Great vlog and a nice route (apart from the road sections).
Hi Andy, thanks! Stage 3, which is my favourite section, features the Lordstones Country Park where we had our meet up on Sunday. A very different place in the summer and autumn. Will be a great place for you to return to for some dramatic photography! 👍
Great video Jim and Nick. Are those foxgloves I see? Stinging nettles 😮 love the beautiful buildings along the way. I agree with Jill about the worst bits being the roads. Loved the adventure. ❤Have a wonderful weekend guys 🤗🙏🏽👍🏽
those roads were an absolute nightmare Joseph. this was the worst section, thankfully, of the nine day trek! see you soon on yours, have an amazing weekend guys xx

Hi Anna and Alf, yeah there is some great history along this trail as well as some glorious views. We are not keen on road walking as you can tell from my scowls 😂 It’s just nice to share this trail with you all and bring some sunshine to these cold damp months! Have a super weekend ❤️
Apologies for my lateness, I made it eventually🎉
Great video as always 👍👏
Never apologise Bulldog, lovely to hav you here in the comments! Have a great weekend 👍
😁 excited for this one love the sections along this route
Ah thanks Yasmin, hope you’ll enjoy this. Think we have uncovered every option for trying this out! Ps your first 🥇👍
@@GENerationXplorers 😁😁🥇🥇
A cracking first section of this icon path Nick (shame there are lots of road sections (with the traffic 🥹))
But near the less in between some super countryside nice bridge twirl Jill 😊👍
Eager for section two 😊🙏🏼
Best wishes Simon 😊
thanks Simon, its sheer laziness on the part of The Cleveland Way designers part that there are road sections at all, i could easily avoid them by walking in the adjacent fields and hills where there is a lovely right of way that starts at Rievaulx Bridge and picks up the trail again at Cold Kirby.
Will watch when we get back debs xx
Thanks Debs, have a great day ❤
@@GENerationXplorers ditto 👯xx
Holy moly that is a long trail 😂 you guys are troopers! 🤣 but looks like an amazing trail! I loved the views along the way! You guys gave me an idea because in Hong Kong, we do have a popular 100km long trail but split up into 10 sections, I’ve only done about half of the sections though. I’ll look into conquering that off my list.
Hey Keith that would be great to do and see! Thank you 🤗 Have a fabulous weekend ❤️
Wonderful!! 😊 I get so much inspiration with your videos! ❤ Thank you for sharing such a professional, very well edited and pack with details video! I’m definitely smashing the like 👍
Thank you so much Hilda you are so kind! Have a lovely weekend ❤️
such a lovely place to visit, thanks for showing us around Cleveland Way Helmsley to Sutton Bank🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching 🤗
You bring us joy once again, guys. Beautiful hike and a lot of gates. What more can we ask for? :)
Have a good one, people.
💚
Thank you Shhh 💚 you are kind! have a great weekend 👍
The video is great. Beautiful video. The Place is also nice too. Thank you sharing wonderful video. Have a nice day.
Thank you! You too! 🤗
Wonderful hike & tour… so beautiful there. Thanks for letting us tag along
Thanks for watching Riggs and Rigg’s dad 😉 hope your week is going well ❤️
I wish you a wonderful nature view, good walks my friend 🥰🌻
Thank you very much! Have a blessed week friend 👍
It’s crazy how the human body climatises to different temperatures! Thanks for your great comment and thanks for watching! Have a great week 👍
Good evening my friend so beautiful place nice walking thank you for sharing full watching from Philippines
Hello to you Bernz in the 🇵🇭 thank you, have a great weekend! 👍

Thanks Christine ♥️🇨🇦
It’s a beautiful countryside. Be careful on those roadways. Awesome that you have the book to go by. It’s a wonderful area. I would love to walk there too! 👍😊🇨🇦

So much energy you got there Friends. Awesome views and i love those lush green trees and plants. Let me go with you on stage two.
Thanks so much Lydia and you are more than welcome to join us on the next stages over the next few weeks with other content in between! Take care ❤️
We love the scenery on your hikes. It's so meditatitve. Big likes. I watched the whole video with joy.
Thank you so much we look forward to checking out more of your channel! Keep well lovely family ♥️
hello, Great walk! Beautiful nature! Thank you for sharing! thumbs up
Many thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, much appreciated 🤗 have a great week 🎮❤️
You had lovely weather on your hike, some good looking gates too! It looks like an easy trail to follow, I presume it was well waymarked? Amazing mileage! Phew! ❤
thank you Rachel, yes very easily way marked plus we didnt run into any disrespectful land owners across our route! phew. bad public transport links though so the majority of this 109 mile path was either doubling the mileage or adding significant mileage on. easily a 200 mile venture that jill will probably never forgive me for 😂😂
What a lovely route, with some beautiful views 😊
Walking by roads are always the worst 😩
It was so nice to watch….summer, lush green 😍
Take care
Thanks for watching Gary & Mallissa hope you are both well! have a great week 👍
Good evening! I’m looking forward to following your journey along the Cleveland Way. 😊
its a great route, especially if your a camper. there is great accommodation or transports for about a third of the route. a wild camper like yourself would tackle this with ease. for us? not so much 😂😂
Thanks Rachel, think we may have confused people putting them out but fortnightly with some good stuff inbetween! it was a hard slog even doing it in stages but we’ll see! have a great weekend ❤️
super view this is great video. i like it. salam from Bali
Thank you very much! Greetings to you in Bali 👋
Another lovely video guys. Some beautiful countryside....that can only be Yorkshire 🙂👍. Thanks for taking us along 🥾🥾🥾
Thanks 👍 have a great week 💝
nice exploration. beautiful share vidio. I love it

Many thanks 🤗 All the very best 👍
La nature est magnifique, merci 1000 fois👍
merci 🤗 have a great week 👍
running up them stairs looks like hard work . Bet you were glad to get off that road! Quite a trek that!
it really was tiresome this first stage and then some! Nick keeps saying ‘Cleveland way’ to me and I didn’t realise I had such a snarl 🤭😂 it was enjoyable but a chore at the same time if that’s possible! ❤️
Thank you for sharing walking to the bank an experience
Our pleasure! have a blessed day friend 👍
awesome guys, thanks for bringing us there
Thanks for coming! always welcome your kind comments! take care ❤️
I see you have one set up for next week too, okay. "Shake it baby..." 🦾📺💯
new fortnightly series for the next 18:weeks. i’ll be throwing in different stuff on alternate weeks. hopefully metalman collab and the grey lady next friday 👍
Fun premiere, Nick and Jill. I would definitely have to train to make it 22 miles. 😬💯
The size of the trees are incredible lots of gates I luv the energentis gestures too CYU

Ah thanks so much, you were definitely our inspiration for this, you do amazing with all these long distance trails! Thanks for your help with the intro too, we’ll definitely be using it during these videos! hope you have a wonderful year, that sun will be back soon xx
Great Content. Thank You For Sharing. Have a nice day!❤👍
Thank you! You too! ❤️
Thanks for jogging my memory and for sharing your first section of the Cleveland Way 👍
Cheers Alistair 👍
We've had a dry day today and maybe 2 or 3more this week so I hope to be out filming 🤔
Take care ATB Alistair
Wow beautiful hiking trail, enjoyed hiking with you glad to joining you greeting from Texas 😊 11:23
Thank you so much 👍
I thought I'd best start off with the first one in the series and watch them in order rather than the latest video.
Nice view sharing my friend ❤️ 😀 👍
Thank you very much! stay awesome our lovely gaming friend 👍❤️
