By the way, this foundation looks SENSATIONAL on you! I like the finish it leaves! You're glowy without looking too dewy or sweaty! I may wind up having 100 or more so foundations before the end of this year because of you! LOL! Love, love, love these Foundation Fest videos! Oh, by the way, I MAY have mentioned you a couple of times in MY videos, as well! LOL! Thanks again for a great review!
LOL at least this one is a little less painful =D I just did the math on how much I've spent on 3 shades of By Terry foundation, and I could get 21 shades of ColourPop for it 😂😂😖
So happy that this could work. I've had 0 success with ColourPop foundations thus far ( 'thus far'...I'm fancy tonight) so happy it's an A-!!! I love ColourPop highlight and blush so this is great!!!💗 Thank You💓
Thank you for this! I absolutely love CP, so I bought this as soon as Ulta had it. I struggled to find my shade but after 3 purchases I found it. I have similar skin to you. Only difference is I’m 42 😆 I found it stayed on for over 12 hours and that was even after an hour and 15 min workout! I love your foundation vids! They’ve actually been incredibly helpful to me! Thank you!
discovered you today and it is such a nice surprise to find someone that is in a reality that i am in and how things will look on me rather than through so many filters and blurred.
Just bought this foundation and am so excited to try it!! I have been loving the new LYS foundation from Sephora. Soooo good and inexpensive too. Edited to add: I also have dry skin so I bet you would love LYS foundation too.
We usually match in shade for foundations - this one, I picked it up in Fair 30N. I’ve not been out in the sun so it works okay for me. This is a “B” for me. I also think when it dries down, it darkens a bit. Looking forward to trying out the new IT Foundation - make sure you get it so I can compare notes!
I was looking at all of the people on their web site for each shade (which is SO helpful and I wish I'd have shown that in the video) and I'm thinking my winter shade might be that 30N or thereabouts.
So happy to see this review yay! I love that it’s vegan and affordable, and doesn’t matter if I get lighter or darker im confidant I’ll be able to get a shade match:) I got mine in 40N and 55N and I find them both decently cool toned, unlike other “neutral” foundations which are often still too yellow. A win! 😊
Michelle Smith u kno I actually have a hard time finding foundation matches, it’s always a little off (or maybe there’s something wrong with my eyes haha) but I’m pretty similar to shelly! U can check out her other fdn reviews she shows a swatch every single time it’s super helpful!
So darn pretty on your skin. I was awaiting your review before buying it. It sounds like it's perfect for summer. A great natural look, that just seems to blur the skin to perfection. Does it have Ziva's stamp of approval? 😽❤
Shelly, you look so fresh, bronzed and young in this one! And your eyes look so lifted at the outer corners, especially on the right eye as we look at you. What is this sorcery?! 🧙♀️
I'm really interested in this one. My only concern is that since I have narcolepsy I have to be able to lie down during the day without too much transfer. I can fall asleep with the Makeup Revolution Fast Base stick foundation and not have any issues. I obviously don't sleep overnight in foundation but a fact of life for me is not having a choice about sleep often times. I'd love to know how it performs with setting spray. You REALLY love that Elf highlighter! Lol. And you can see just how much rain you've had by the amount of water in your newly dug foundation! I hope work progresses soon for you Xoxo
I'll make sure to update when I try this one with setting spray! My guess is it will help, and I'm thinking a non-moisturizing primer may help it stay in place too. Oy the rain... we're set for storms from the passing hurricane all weekend, too. It's going to be a wet one! On the upside, I get to sleep in 😂 I could never live that early-morning life of construction workers!
@@goow the only early morning life I can fathom is the 4am getting to bed type. Enjoy the sleep in during the rain- that was me last week. We had a crazy east coast low pressure system with torrential rain that I couldn't see through. Lots of coastal erosion with homes at risk of falling into the sea- I'm not rich enough to have that particular problem! Thanks Shelley!x
I'm thinking that 30N is going to be my winter shade, based on the photos on their web site! And this one is just a smidge dark on me. It seemed fine on my face but I could see where I stopped bringing it down my neck.
I don't know where to get ColourPop in Canada, but this looks like a reasonable budget-friendly foundation. I am still wonderstruck by the magenta hair in the natural light. I wish you had done some outdoor shots with the Pur x Raw Beauty Kristi colourful eye shadow video. The magenta hair and the magenta eye shadow would be chef's kiss perfection. Thanks as always.
I've thought about re-doing those eye looks to wear all day. I filmed them at like 1 in the morning 😂it was one of those where I figured, if I mess it all up, I'm going to bed anyway so I can just wash it all off.
Thanks for the review! Your cat is adorable as always About the stores having fewer shades than the website - I think it's the same reason as clothing shops selling more unusual sizes, like very big or small or short or tall, only on their website. Those items sell less but the space they take up in the store and the logistics needed to get them there cost the same. I wouldn't mind it if they had samples of those shades in stores, but in my experience they don't.
Are you going to try the new Charlotte Tillbury setting spray? When I watched Wayne Goss rub his arm with no movement to eyeshadows he'd swatched, I was like 😲. I'm looking for anything that helps makeup not rub all over the inside of my mask! He's the only one I've seen rub on the makeup after setting. Everyone else just does a regular wear test, so I'd love to see someone do a REAL test with it on their face.
Awww Ziva, such a love! This looked beautifully natural on your skin. When it's Shelly approved it gets added to my list of things to try. 😊 Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Love that you included the CYO swatch❤ PLEASE try No7 Protect & Perfect ADVANCED All in One Foundation!!! It has pretty good 4+ star reviews for the most part. I looked through the foundation spreadsheet and didn't see it, but if I missed it please point me in the right direction.
Hi Shelly! Hope all is well.. thanks for the review. I’ve been thinking of picking this up🧐 might be good for my DRY skin.. that sponge looks satisfying lol
I found this foundation a few weeks ago in my local Ulta. I was so excited. However, I’m 47 and it did settle into my wrinkles....but overall I’ve been enjoying it. Great review!!
Of course you post this today! I had been waiting for a few certain people to put reviews out so I could get a better idea about which shade and ultimately ended up getting 30N last night. It surprised me by looking great all day as far as the actual finish but the shade kinda knocks it down a notch as too light shade seems to highlight every flaw.
I always remember something after I post! On your recommendation, I ordered the MAC face and body and I’m in heaven. It manages to take some years off this face! It’s perfect other than not being cruelty-free. 😞
I'm really curious with some of the news coming out with major cruelty-free beauty influencers changing their opinions about a company's cruelty free status if the only thing making them not cruelty free is after-market testing in China. I need to do more research, but it sounds like after-market testing is extremely rare and no more likely to happen there than it is in the US or EU, which would make many more brands cruelty free in that context. Phyrra Nyx just posted a video explaining that she would now consider any brand listed as cruelty free by PETA to be cruelty free (where a main complaint in the past was that PETA included some brands that were sold in mainland China on their list, and many people excluded those brands from being cruelty free). I don't know if MAC falls in that category. Their web site claims that they don't test on animals and don't ask others to do it on their behalf, and that the only animal testing would come from China - but I don't know if MAC is subject to pre- and after-market testing. I believe there is a distinction between pre-market testing and after-market testing in China, and I'm not sure which products are required to undergo pre-market testing (would would mean, still not cruelty free). It sounds like if a company is only subject to after-market testing and not pre-market testing, then it may be appropriate to now consider them cruelty free.
Hi Shelly. You’re absolutely right about the differentiation between pre-market and post-market testing. I’d be interested in knowing the specifics on that, for sure. I agree that pre-market testing would cancel any hope of a product as being cruelty-free. If I come across any more research, I’ll pass it along!
Thank you for this review Shelly 😊 I noticed it got the same grade as the CP tinted moisturiser. For skin coverage without drying, perhaps this CP foundation has the edge.
Yes!!! This is one of my new favorites! Reminds me so much of the PUR 4 in one love your selfie. This stays so nicely on my skin. Always love to see your take. 😀
“And on Fridays, we swatch!” “Pet me, Mom. No, now. Pet me now.” 🤣🤣🤣 This is why we love your videos and your cats, especially, Ziva though it is amusing when Merlin decides he has something important to discuss with you. The foundation looks nice too, but having a Love Your Selfie and a L’Oréal Radiant Serum already, I cant justify trying new ones.
Happy Friday Shelly! The Pretty Fresh Hydrating looks great on your skin. While it's supposed to offer medium to full coverage, on camera it sort of gives me "your skin but better" satin vibes. Have you tried the foundation from Range Beauty?
I have had my eye on this foundation. I'm in the process of moving from a humid climate to a very dry climate so I'm gathering as many hydrating products I can. Thanks again for a great review!!
Melissa Hodgeman I live in a dry climate and this dries me out so bad during the day. The Hyaluronic acid pulls moisture from the air and if there isn’t any it pulls it from your skin. However, it is beautiful so I definitely recommend trying it, maybe it will work for you.
The foundation looked so beautiful on you! Honestly, I wasn't too interested in this one since I got the colorpop one in the tube, but I may pick this up at some point! Absolutely loved your eye makeup look! And I bought the makeup revolution glow bronzer a month ago (in light as well) and liked it! I did find it looked a tad orange on me, but that may have been the setting powder I used. 😊
Awwww Ziva! 😭. What a love bug. So happy about the outcome of this foundation review. I ordered this yesterday along with the palette from the Sailor Moon collection. I purchased the 30N as I don’t have a summer shade. I’m always pretty light. Oh before I forget, I picked up the NYX Born to Glow concealer and find it to be hydrating, brightening and good for this mature face. I didn’t see it on your concealer spreadsheet. Curious as to how you might like it. Anywho, enjoy your weekend and kiss the kitties for me! Stay safe and well. 🐈🐾🐾
I’m excited to try this foundation I have extremely dry skin and it’s hard to find a really good foundation I just started using the pretty fresh primer n I love it
I have been looking for a drugstore replacement for my PF Healthy Vitalist and think you just added the next one to try, thank you!! Also, Zeva IS the first lol
I love how your cat was posted up in the backdrop at 1:30 pm and then again when you did your check-in at 1:30 am. 😂 You've obvs got a feline filming partner, and I don't mind one bit! 😻💕
LOL for a while I had the background set up differently and she couldn't get behind me, and soooooooo many people asked where she went! So when I redid it again I made a spot for her and put the background light just out of view of the camera because she likes to sit under the warmth of it behind me. So it's a little bit of cat bribery for the benefit of her fans 😹
Looks really nice, I have noticed Ulta doesn’t have the full range of some foundations, too....may be the space since more and more new products are coming in....
Hi Shelly! I've been so curious about this foundation, but I wanted to see what you thought about it. It looks like it's definitely worth a try after I use up some of what I already own. Have a great weekend! ❤
I was a little annoyed with Ulta when I didn’t see 15w but I am happy with 25w, at least as my summer shade, lol. I rarely ever believe the shade match I find for the closest shade matches I have but for some reason I took a gamble on this one and have worn it every day since! I’m finally watching a video the same night it’s posted - yay!! How are you liking the Sony camera?!
I am loving the Sony! And the remote/tripod thing they designed for it is so clever. I have several similar devices for other cameras and for my phone and they're all a bit of a pain to use. This one is very smartly designed, from button placement to how the camera attaches to it. I haven't used the camera to its full potential yet but I've had zero trouble adapting to its menus (I've owned a dozen Canon cameras, for many many years, and really no other brands, so I thought I'd have trouble with that!) and I think the way they did the audio on this camera is super smart. I do wish Canon was innovating in this area. Missed opportunity for sure. I know that consumer or amateur video content creation is a niche, but it just seems like a huge niche that has potential to grow even bigger if the right tools were easy enough and affordable enough for consumers to use!
It does some blurring of texture and lines but not much for filling pores (though it doesn't settle into them or accentuate them). The one thing no primer seems to be able to do on me is bridge the gap over lines so that foundation can't break apart along them. The closest I get for that is my beloved Strivectin Line BlurFector. I tried to dig that one out today but my primer drawer is overflowing and I couldn't find it quickly enough, so I got annoyed and gave up 😂
I love the way this foundation goes on and the finish, however I live in a dry climate and it makes my skin so dry. I think if I lived somewhere humid, it would be perfect.
Hi Shelly, Been enjoying your videos for a while now, especially since you and I wear about the same colors.I am curious whether you have researched olive undertones? They greyish tones of foundation that look great on you (and me) have led me to wonder about this. Thanks, Patricia
trying to catch up on your vids. i was sick. im excited for this demo, i want to like this foundation. so if it works i wont mind spending the price tag. so ty.
So I have to wear a mask for 8 to 10 hours a day at work. I have almost stopped wearing make up because of the transfer and we have to keep them for several days (well I wear eye make up) I miss it and I look tired with out it. Could you do a makeup mask video. To help us figure this out. Lol thanks as always
Yes I've been taking notes on my foundations and masks for a video! So far the MAC Face & Body has held up the best with minimal transfer (sometimes none).
I've seen a few reviews of this foundation which gave me the impression that it's good for dry skin. It looks nicely dewy/glowy on you. I've got it on my Ulta wish list. :) Love the eye look today too! That brow product....why would anyone want to apply something so goopy on their brows when you need precision?? How do these products make it through testing? Ziva is such a scene stealer! Lol! While I'm writing this, my Persian Attila is squeezed up against me in my office chair looking at me very annoyed because I'm taking up too much room. :-D
I got that PF eyebrow product a while ago and ended up throwing it away. I never throw things away, but it was so bad I couldn't imagine anyone being able to make it work.
Add me to the list of those that couldn't get it to work. I tried again today and... it's a huge nope. I chucked it into my Fails bin to talk about in the next Faves/Fails.
I am nobody to give you advice. Lord knows I haven’t a fraction of the experience you do when it comes to applying foundation, BUT... a year or so ago I saw a video by a girl (I don’t remember who) and she said that the best way to truly build a foundation is to wait until the first pass dries down; she suggested four minutes. I wonder if you’ve ever tried that, and if so, is it a good tip? I never build foundations, so I’ve never tried it. 😘😘😘
It seems to work for some foundations but not others. Some seem to have the opposite problem where once it's dried down, any new cream or foundation applied gets tacky and pulls up the foundation beneath. Others need that layering effect with a dry-down in between. More often it seems that if everything stays liquified during application, it'll all dry down together, so I tend to go that route. (Plus I'm impatient... I also don't wait between layers of skin care, except acids).
Here's what we demand. I want everyone to be able to buy your product so you have to creat, produce, store, and ship it. I also want you to keep your prices low. Also, you need to stop waste because it's bad for the environment. I mix foundations. I wish there was a way to focus on undertones and something that would work to mix. Every time I hear about inclusivity I think this. If we could hit the lightest, darkest, small jumps in between. Idk. Just because a company makes money doesn't mean they should throw it away. That could go to better insurance or benefits for their employees instead of expired product. Most of my foundations are the wrong color. Luckily I'm pretty neutral but I almost always mix.
In that scenario, the onus is on the consumer to purchase multiple products to achieve one color. (For example, I now own 3 shades of the By Terry foundation and still do not have a match, even with mixing, at a cost of $348. Even to mix products, sufficient numbers of undertone and brightness variations must exist to get a match). That seems more wasteful than the consumer paying a bit more (you mention demanding low prices, but personally I'm willing to pay for a more complete product) for one appropriately formulated product per person. I'm also concerned that the skipped shades you refer to as companies' money "thrown away" tend to be shades of marginalized populations - which gets into inclusivity, which is more of an ethical consideration of placing more financial value on certain shades, and may not be a concern for some businesses. In my own purchasing decisions, I'd rather pay more for a product from a company that does incorporate their morals and ethics into their business decisions, but that's certainly not a quantity-driven sales approach. I appreciate your perspective and agree with some of its tenets but disagree with some of the execution.
@@goow It's unfortunate but realistic. In my industry the equivalent is vegan. Every time we try it we throw away a ton of product. It doesn't sell and when we review menus and sales history it gets dumped. I always push and I usually lose. I was thinking more of a white and dark mixer for each formula, maybe even included as a gift or something stores can offer samples of. I won't buy multiples of the same. I love foundation. I'll buy or use another brand to mix.
Does your foundation ever looks very caky in bright artificial light?that's my problem my skin does not feels dry(how do you know you have dry skin??).I also have fine lines on my cheeks and with foundation they look more vissable and later in the day especially in artificial light the foundation looks more heavy in those lines...Do you know what i can do about that?xxx
Yes lighting definitely makes a difference in how heavy a foundation can look. Generally dry skin doesn't produce much oil. So if you rarely or never have trouble with needing to blot oil off of your face during the day, that would be one thing that would point to normal or dry. When you wash your face, if you pat it dry with a towel and then wait 20 minutes without apply anything (no serums, no moisturizers, etc), if your skin starts to feel kind of tight just naturally dried with no product on it, that is another sign you could have dry skin. Also any flaking would be a sign (such as around your nostrils). I find the best thing for fine lines is finding a good moisturizer for under your makeup. That can help plump up and hydrate the skin so that the lines are less visible, and if you notice it more later in they day, you might need a more potent moisturizer. I like the CeraVe PM moisturizer in the daytime or the Belif True Cream Moisturizing Bomb. Both last all day in terms of hydrating the skin and they both wear well under makeup.
Ziva was so sweet. 🥰 Oh- spoiler alert- we might ACTUALLY move to Virginia! We’ve been doing tons of research, and Virginia is at the top of our list. (I think our governor [Bill Lee: R- TN] is trying to kill us all. 😳)
There are pockets of areas that are more affordable especially if you go north to Bellingham, a college town. It’s about an hour and a quarter north of Seattle on the water and not far from Canada. If you look outside of Seattle and surrounding burbs, it’s way more affordable!
Amberger Helper Yeah you’re right girl. Unless you get a foreclosure, it’s super difficult. Amazon and Microsoft along with the Californian’s migration have made real estate insane. I will probably have to move elsewhere some day. I love it here so much. It has the liberal vibe I love. I do play the lottery. 😂😂😂. Please let me know when you find a place at that price, ok??

Hi Shelly! Hope all is well.. thanks for the review. I’ve been thinking of picking this up🧐 might be good for my DRY skin.. that sponge looks satisfying lol
It is a totally satisfying sponge!!
I was thinking 30N might be my winter shade, based on the photos on their web site.
I'd say it's very likely. It's got a decent amount of pink after it dries.
Are you building a patio? That's exciting! Beautiful yard for beautiful lady. I think this foundation might be good for me in the winter. 😀
Adding a bedroom!! And hopefully rebuilding the deck and adding a screened-in part or a gazebo or something like that.
Wow that foundation looked gorg on you and that bronzer is defo a keeper, loved it with the blush/highlight 😊 x
Come to think of it, they do have a similar finish!
Ah! You do care! Thanks so much and have an awesome weekend! Your skin just looks wonderful 🥰
Hi Shelly, will you please consider testing the new IT foundation? Thanks!
Yay I’m so glad you liked it because I went ahead and ordered it before your review came out lol. Thanks for another great review! 💖
“And on Fridays, we swatch!”
“Pet me, Mom. No, now. Pet me now.” 🤣🤣🤣
This is why we love your videos and your cats, especially, Ziva though it is amusing when Merlin decides he has something important to discuss with you. The foundation looks nice too, but having a Love Your Selfie and a L’Oréal Radiant Serum already, I cant justify trying new ones.
The cats always find a way to get their five minutes of fame :)
Keep it up. I love and rely on your foundation and concealer reviews. Keep them coming😁
Happy Friday Shelly! The Pretty Fresh Hydrating looks great on your skin. While it's supposed to offer medium to full coverage, on camera it sort of gives me "your skin but better" satin vibes. Have you tried the foundation from Range Beauty?
Oooh I'm not familiar with Range Beauty - I'll have to check into them! Thanks, Alexandra!
Another great review, Shelley! Thanks again for mentioning if there is a scent or not. And I love that you kept Ziva in the shot!
Thanks, Shelly! I always wait for your reviews. I may just pick this one up. Take care!
I really like the way this looks on you! 😍
It looks great on you, very smooth, and such a good price ! Thank you as always Shelly😊
This looks so nice on you!!! 😍
This really looks pretty on you!😀
Yesssss! Thank you, Shelly! Hope you're doing well! Have a fantastic weekend!💚💕🦋
You too!!!
@@goow Thank you!!😊
Awwww Ziva! 🐈🐾🐾
I was eyeing 30N as my potential winter shade :)
Looks beautiful on you. I’ve been hearing so many great things about this one.
Thanks, girlie🍃🌸
I’m excited to try this foundation I have extremely dry skin and it’s hard to find a really good foundation I just started using the pretty fresh primer n I love it
Loooove this makeup look! Super pretty!
I have been looking for a drugstore replacement for my PF Healthy Vitalist and think you just added the next one to try, thank you!! Also, Zeva IS the first lol
😹😹😹
I love how your cat was posted up in the backdrop at 1:30 pm and then again when you did your check-in at 1:30 am. 😂 You've obvs got a feline filming partner, and I don't mind one bit! 😻💕
LOL for a while I had the background set up differently and she couldn't get behind me, and soooooooo many people asked where she went! So when I redid it again I made a spot for her and put the background light just out of view of the camera because she likes to sit under the warmth of it behind me. So it's a little bit of cat bribery for the benefit of her fans 😹
Happy Friday Shelly!! I've actually not heard of this one 😮😮😮
It's still got the "new" tag on Ulta's web site so it's pretty fresh (heh see what I did there) 😂😂😂 crackin' myself up over here!
Looks really nice, I have noticed Ulta doesn’t have the full range of some foundations, too....may be the space since more and more new products are coming in....
Wow it looks really good after 12 hours! 😍
I was really surprised and that gave it a bump up, for me!
Yasss qween💜 THANK YOU!!
Hi Shelly! I've been so curious about this foundation, but I wanted to see what you thought about it. It looks like it's definitely worth a try after I use up some of what I already own.
Have a great weekend! ❤
So excited to see you doing this one... did you try the new shop miss a pro wear?
I just got the Shop Miss A but haven't worn it yet!
Geek Out of Water can’t wait to see your review
Shelly, how does it feel on your skin through the day? Lightweight or like a mask? Great review as usual, im actually interested in checking it out!
This one I ranked as "lightweight" - so, lighter than average, but not "very lightweight."
Does the Good Molecules silicone-free primer blur the skin or fill pores? Just curious! 😘😘😘
Yikes that is good to know! I've got moderate to high humidity a good portion of the year where I live.
Hi Shelly, Been enjoying your videos for a while now, especially since you and I wear about the same colors.I am curious whether you have researched olive undertones? They greyish tones of foundation that look great on you (and me) have led me to wonder about this. Thanks, Patricia
I haven't really thought about it for my tone! I'm going to think about it now :)
trying to catch up on your vids. i was sick. im excited for this demo, i want to like this foundation. so if it works i wont mind spending the price tag. so ty.
I hope you're feeling better, Rhonda!!
@@goow ty so much. im happy to catch up on your vids. ty for being here.
LOL it's the cats' world. We're just living in it.
@@goow Lol! Ain't that the truth? :D Here I though Attila wanted to cuddle with me. I'm so naive! lol!
What would be your winter shade do you think? I just unpacked my Good Molecules order including the silicone-free priming moisturiser!
I'm thinking Light 33 C, though Fair 20 N looks like it would work, too. I'm probably in between those two but all of the ones in between are warm! :P
Oh- spoiler alert- we might ACTUALLY move to Virginia! We’ve been doing tons of research, and Virginia is at the top of our list. (I think our governor [Bill Lee: R- TN] is trying to kill us all. 😳)
Come to Washington State if you don’t choose Virginia. We have a great governor!
janfromseattle Oh honey, I wish!!! It’s so expensive there. I’ve always wanted to live in the Pacific Northwest. If we had the money, we’d be there. 🤓
There are pockets of areas that are more affordable especially if you go north to Bellingham, a college town. It’s about an hour and a quarter north of Seattle on the water and not far from Canada. If you look outside of Seattle and surrounding burbs, it’s way more affordable!
janfromseattle We were hoping to buy a house for $75,000 or less. I couldn’t find that anywhere in Washington, Oregon, or California.
Yaaaaas I've been waiting for this one!!!
❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Woohoo 100th like, here!
