- Somalia is rejecting a pact its breakaway region of Somaliland signed with Ethiopia allowing it to use a major port with access to the Red Sea. Somaliland and Somalia were two separately independent countries from two different colonial powers namely Britain and Italy for over a century , then joined to make the Somali Republic in 1960. Somaliland preceded 5 days before Somalia, thus in respect to African colonial boundaries according to former OAU and present AU. The terms of unity were immediately violated by Somalia, particularly power sharing, a fundamental principle to union of states, where among other things the 1st two presidents and the first two prime ministers were taken by Somalia. Almost all development and social infrastructure such as factories, universities etc., were established in Somalia, leaving a complete neglect in Somaliland. Then just when things started more fair and for the first time Somaliland was given the post of prime minister in 1969, the military made a coup within months to sabotage this. From there started 20 years of oppression which became finally a massive genocidal campaign to the people of Somaliland. Without grievance of all this happened, Somalia once again violated the agreement of the liberation forces, whereby then the people of Somaliland came together and made their minds. This has resulted the Somaliland people to disband the union and restore its lost sovereignty in 1991, by declaring the Republic of Somaliland to restore their independence. Since then Somaliland has been peaceful, independent and democratic country. Ever since the reclamation of its freedom, Somaliland has been neutral and did not interfere Somalia affairs, whereas the later has done all sorts of things to aggravate Somaliland. Now Somaliland has become tired of the futile talks with Somalia (13 rounds over the last decade), therefore its compelled to take a different approach after 63 years of destruction and wasted time, and willing to do everything for their strong and legal cause Thank you for the upload.

Look at Somali land vs Somali in 30 years we have better development and growth. All you see in Somali is chaos. This deal with Ethiopia is a lease nobody is stealing land the Western countries do this all the time. Somali can't tell us what to do this is a great deal actually Ethiopia giving a lot in this deal that will help Somali land growth.

MOU between Ethiopia and Somaliland state is NULL AND VOID. Somaliland state of Somalia is part of Somalia and it can't make such agreement. Ethiopia broke the warm relationship with Somalia at moment and forgot the history between the two countries. Ethiopia wants to take over Somali sea for good not for renting or business partnership that is not possible. Ethiopia should stay away from Somali sea. If they want to use port for business purposes, let them continue to use Berbera Port without problem.
