Always check things over, I've been burned too many times over the years. People will swear blind something works when it doesn't. The amount of wasted money can build up if you buy too many duds.
I completely agree! my fail pile is big enough and I check things!! haha
Test is best! I always turn keyboards upside down & give it a shake to see if any buttons fall off. It's not weird to check things out it's good practice.
That's my new motto haha that's a good tip as well I'll remember that for next time!

Great finds, just to let you know PS4's go for a few quid Spares/Repair.
For me, it's a balance between the price of an item, spending time checking and moving on to other stuff - you do what you want to mate, whatever you do I enjoy watching, my comment on your last video was just to try and help out (as you know).
One example would be if there were a load of GameCube Games at the car boot for 50p each I would just buy and run - I wouldn't spend time checking all the discs as they are a bargain and you risk someone else barging in and you losing them.
Do whatever you want though, my philosophy is that I would rather waste a few pounds here and there than miss out on a big score (not to say that big score is there if I rush around...) - everyone is different.

Yeah that's understandable although i'm pretty sure i checked all the discs in a bundle when i picked up kaido racer for like 75p a game.. haha So i'd still probably check them, maybe it's more habit than anything? Appreciate your comment and support from the off :)

I always check over items as much as possible in the time available ,I still miss defects from time to time ,it's all part of the bootsale game
Always check stuff over, and if it’s a console like you’ve said before I am buying assuming it’s broke, if handhelds don’t turn on same sketch. Something I’ve been picking up a lot for buttons recently are digital cameras, CEX trade in is shocking but the eBay prices are well, high, you can usually tell which ones are worth it as CEX have no stock
Yeah i've seen a few digital cameras are worth money but I don't know what i'm looking at tbh! need to do some research and take a punt on some.

Thank you mate! I have an RTX 2060 mate nothing too fancy but still does the job. I was playing WOW Classic and New World for a while last year but haven't really played any games of late! Apart from my console games that is.

Some sellers pricing strategy's go beyond my understanding. Last week I had one stall pricing games by there age rating, £3 for 7 PEGI and £6 for 18 PEGI. I also run into some people selling boxsets priced per disc. It makes no sense.
hahah that's a first on the price for age rating. I get people trying to charge per disc all the time as well which always makes me laugh!
Love it again Mitch. Checked some box sets but no joy this weekend for me 😢. One boot sale was off in Ipswich due to speed weekend but did pick up wolfenstein for £1.50 and will get £6 so that will do 👍

Nice pick ups mate esp that 360 slim. You are quite correct to check games are in cases as you never know for sure otherwise but mistakes are easily made in the heat of the moment.
For me at boot sales I always take my time and only purchase items that I either know or am pretty sure are worth less unless I think its an item that may go quickly.

I think you should always check, I do so all good I think there mate. With DVD’s do you take punts on them on know the trade in? I know you said the Stargate you walked away and checked the CeX app, but the Brittas empire box set, did you know that from past buying or check at the stall or again walk away, I just struggle with DVDs knowing if they are good trade in, plus my CeX never sodding works at my boot sale. 😂
Yeah mate I always check DVD's even if I know the price I still check as they change quite often. If I can quickly sneak a scan at the stall I will but if it's too awkward i'll walk off and check and come back. Luckily the competition for DVD's is quite low and I very rarely miss out doing that.

Today there was an elderly lady who wanted £120 for a Wii! And another man with a Wii U (white 8gb) he wanted £250! That’s more than it was brand new!
I didn’t get that much this week, there was a lot of competition there too.
Reminds me of the time I went to a small town, eyed a boxed Wii in a closed charity shop window. The front was heavily sun-damaged so was expecting a reduced price but eyed an £100 price tag stuck to the box. 😅

I got stung by CEX I brought spiderman ps1 black label when I got home it was a platinum disc luckily it was cex so I went back and got it changed now I check the disc!

I got stung on market place. Brought a bundle of games for 1 game, got home the disc for that game was missing

If car boot sellers don’t want people to be so inquisitive to the condition of their items. Then address all the dishonest sellers making this an issue of integrity before making under-breath comments like they did in the vid.
Don’t see a problem checking at all. Pound land used to sell items for an actual pound and I’d check that they weren’t broken or in bad condition.
Think it’s perfectly fine to check if you want to check.

Nothing wrong with being meticulous, if the seller has an issue then I walk away losing nothing. They lose the sale because of their attitude .
If you want to make a profit or gain some value in vouchers then you have to make sure things meet a general standard for cex,ebay,gumtree etc.

Checking things over is part and parcel with buying second hand items. 9 times out of 10 you check things over in good time but having watched nearly every video you put out some of the checks seem longer than others so it might come across like an excessive check. Tryna think of an example (couldn’t find the exact clip) but one comes to mind is few eps ago when you was checking something over for ages and didn’t end up taking it off this women’s stall but at end of the day it’s part of the game so crack on Mitch.

@@retro_rummage_ ahhh yea that’s the one lol honestly though checking is just part of it. I remember early on I got a load of sealed pS4 games for next to nothing and got home realised they were all US region and worth nothing. Always check.
Can you trade cracked phones into CEX
I believe the non franchise stores do as they send them to head office to get fixed but the price they give is next to nothing.
