    That v6 absolutely SCREAMS!!! How aren't people talking about that more?? Makes me want to buy an Explorer take the dash out and remove the sound deadening to hear that 3.7 🤣🤣🤣 I'm not joking that's one of the best sounding induction noises from the interior I've heard

      Pretty sure it's the same basic engine in my dad's Transit van. It's actually pretty damn quick when you really get on it. He's surprised a few people with how quick it is once it hits 2nd to 3rd gear.

      It's just a ton of intake noise but yeah sounds nice.

      I own a 2013 Toyota sequoia with the 5.7 v8 and that absolutely screams despite the sound deadening. It's not nearly as crazy as that but you definitely know you put your foot in to it. It helps that I have the towing package too, thus long gears. It's MPGs are miserable as I am sure this thing is too but it sounds fun!

    Earlier models of these used the 4.6 Modular V8; I grew up in conversion vans with a handicapped twin brother, first a 2002 Chrysler Town & Country, and since 2012, a Honda Odyssey Touring.

    The 3.7 was never used in the Flex or Taurus, that was the similar 3.5. 3.7 was used in multiple Lincoln vehicles, and Mustang and F-150, and Edge Sport for Ford. As well as the police interceptors

    ok, headlights are halogen bulbs from the factory. also has DRL so the low filament or wire inside the halogen bulbs do burn out faster than the other high beam wire filament... some upgrade to LEDs just for that aspect of it. Jeep 7" round standard LED upgrades are popular, or if you just want to swap out the bulbs only 9003 is what you go for if keeping the rest of the housing assembly. after you confirmed the old halogen bulbs are good and not broken/burnt out... that stalk with the wiper function and high/low beam... its a ford part as well and the contacts may be corroded or broken inside

    • @ricebike
      @ricebike 8 месяцев назад +1

      oops, i hit enter while editing the comment. ok. plug and play headlight bulb is 9003 or H4 when looking just to get that bulb only and re using the round glass assembly. if the housing is cracked from a stone or something, then Jeep whole headlight bulb assembly can be an upgrade. LEDs depending on manufacturer, may or may not be plug and play, so splice the wires in correctly. PS 1157NA bulbs for the smaller amber marker / turn signal bulbs and sometimes water gets in there and corrode the contact points if the plastic lens starts cracking from just age

    I have one of these I have a 2014 LX, best purchase ever. Tory is right you have to find a shop willing to work on these. I have a local shop that is very good and they work on mine. Also MV-1 made their own diagnostic unit for this vehicle which is why ford dealerships won’t do most work. I am thankful I bought a diagnostic tool a few years ago it has saved me multiple times. Would I recommend this vehicle? Hell yes!

    I live down the road in Mishawaka where they produced these. I test drove them in and out of the main plant for our conversion conpany. I could maybe even help source you parts easier but I couldn't promise much. Unfortunately they no longer make them at the AM general plant of course. It's a little sad too because these things had so much promise and a lot of good things going for it. But like the Hummer AM general produced, things just didn't fizzle out.

    the only source of information so far is on a facebook group (which i don't really like the platform) but AM General took down the support site recently that had so much detail with the parts diagrams and every year owners manual... some parts are starting to be hard to source, but a good shop/technician can try to cross over some Ford or GM parts for it.

    I think the hardest part finding someone to work on one would be finding a proper service manual.
    Most of the parts would be a matter of discovering what it was designed for.
