Another excellent video, Roger. The thought just came to me that, after a skiing accident in the early 1980s, I took up an opportunity to go sailing just to strengthen my body, mainly day cruising in small boats and dinghies. And at the first first sight of the wind being captured by the sail and feeling the power, the movement, and the rush of the water bubbling under and around the hull, all my environmental impact thoughts became focussed. I was instantly entranced by sailing and viewing your videos invariably reminds me of why I live my life as I do. Small boat sail cruising could help many people realise all the beauty in the world that needs to be looked after.

    Hello!
I am a longtime subscriber who has never commented before, but today, I want to tell you how much I LOVE your videos/channel.
I am in the United States, born and living in the Southwest, which is an arid desert climate currently experiencing drought conditions.
I have only been on water a few times in my life, but I hope one day to have an experience such as your videos so beautifully show.
You are a true artist, in every sense of the word.
Many of your video shots/scenes appear otherworldly; they are so beautiful as to be literally mesmerizing.
Also, I often find myself singing "Footprints in the Sand."
I even purchased a Breton smock, naturally dyed with madder root, so as to live the dream as fully as possible!
Many Thanks, With Best Wishes to You for More Sailing Ahead . . . !

Hello mr Barnes . I am contemplating building an Ilur. A ply kit version. As a retired boatbuilder it has its attractions , you can get it CNC cut, but i plan to cut it out myself. I have enough tools to do it !! I worked for Cornish crabbers for 20 years, and most of their boats had a galv steel center plate , from the 17 upwards. I have seen the odd Shrimper in the videos you make. Q ,. Avel dro has an alloy plate, would you think a galv steel plate would make much difference, plate down it might? Up not so much,.

    Hi Roger!
I am looking your "vlog(s)" since s long time and never let/made a comment, but today i want to tell you, that this video is fantastic! All your videos are really nice, but this mood of calmness and simplicity decorated with wonderful landscape and various impressions of Brittany makes me: happy!
As a German i went with my motobike to this years "Wheels & Waves-2022" to Biarritz and on my way back home i visited the Isle de Mont St. Michel first time in my life. Besides: It was my first tip to Brittany. My short trip to this extraordinary masterpiece of archtitecture and my night in a small Hotel of Pontorson inspired me. Brittanys coast must be spectecular as far as your videos showed it so far. I will come back with my small ship in the next future-thats for sure!
I am now refurbishing a small and over 50 years old english boat: a HALCYON 23 which i found in the Netherlands nearby Amsterdam. More or less "forgotten" and in a bad looking condition, but worth to bring it back to "sea-life"! Didnt published some vids of it but will do it, when she´s sailing in the next spring. Her name will be: Plan C. I would like to visit your recommended places with my sailing vessel in the near future and: probably we gonna meet each other at one of those places...!? I would appreciate it!
Best luck (and health!) for you and your wonderfiul boat,
    Linus
