- On our way to Yellowstone, we spent a few days in Deadwood, South Dakota, and Grand Tetons National Park.
Deadwood was just ok, but our trip to Devil’s Tower was really interesting. We also stopped in Spearfish, which is a very cool town. I didn’t get video, but the Spearfish Scenic Byway back to Deadwood is beautiful. We took a mine tour at the Broken Boot Goldmine, and the kids panned for gold. Downtown Deadwood would be fun for two adults, but we didn't love it because the kids can’t go in most of the buildings because they are casinos. We didn’t have time to check out the museum, which I heard was pretty good.
The Grand Teton National Park may be the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. We stayed in Colter Bay RV Park, which gave us excellent access to the different areas of the park. We hiked Jackson Lake and Jenny Lake, visited the Moulton Barn, and spent a day in Jackson, WY.
Next, on to Yellowstone!
