A wonderful lecture, with a deep insight into the thoughts of Iqbal. Dr Sabrina has translated two of Iqbal's philosophical classics into Italian. She is an emerging European Muslim phiosopher, with a PhD in ancient philosophy.
I have read Iqbal (ra) Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam book in my student days but we need learned proper understing with scholars like Dr Sabrina Lei. Excellent MashaAllah.
He is being discussed ever since from the sub-continent times out there in the world by the people and there masters and they claimed him as an intellect aswell. We got his essence late tho
Allamah Iqbal might be spiritual father but unfortunately people today are far removed from the thought. Today both in india and pakitan, relegion is relegsted to reductive populism. The ulema are removed from reality and the seculsr academic elite is regressed into colonial agenda. Both are dissconnected from history and socio political situation.
It's time the people of subcontinent wake up and start reading Iqbal and teaching his ideas to young minds. studying in the most prestigious school systems in Pakistan myself, I have been so deprived of his vision.
It wouldn't have been different if you were studying in national school systems either. Iqbal is greatly misunderstood & misinterpreted, sometimes even intentionally especially by takfiri molvis like Khadim rizvi who is fooling everyone just by rote memorizing Iqbal's poetry, whereas he has no idea of Iqbal's philosophical thought.
@@tausif3k yes you are a better scholar to understand Iqbal than one who have memorized his whole poetry! And for god sake when did Allama khadim rizvi did takfir. Stop spreading lies and labelling others and creating misconceptions!
@quadrant03 If your done with a dead civilisation why berate those who speak English as a second language and have the intelligence to present their wonderful piece of work to the next generation while your so called critique is meaningless on a RUclips comment thread? No amount of intellect can replace your crude manners and clear lack of upbringing. Speaking English with an accent is not bad. Get over yourself.

@Hassan Ali have u ever read Allama Iqbal poetries?do u even know persian urdu?he was called Hakeem Ul Ummah(Docter of the Ummah) bcoz of his knowledge to revive Islam in world n indian subcontinent
@Hassan Ali r u mad?....Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was one of the few reformer which indian muslims have....due to him muslim were able to compete in education with Hindu...and due to him upto now his university(Aligarh Muslim University) is d only university, apart frm Jamia Millia Islamia, muslim have in india which is in top 100univeristy in the world....even Jamia Millia was created by AMU students.Sir Syed was the first who understands the social economic educational backwardness of Muslims in India....he understoods at a time when molvi were busy in deciding which firqa will jo to jannah at d dangers Hindus pose to Muslims....Althoghs i too dont agree with all his view especially his tafseer of Quran but he overall he is hero, leader for muslims
@Hassan Ali someone needs to lead d Ummah whether they r Freemason liberal secular muslims or our religion class....problem is our religious class is least educated in matter of duniya...they r living almost in another world so they r absolutely unfit to lead in this era thats why these sickulars, although they r minority, get d power to rule....if our religious class educate themselves then inshaAllah these sickulars will have to leave d country
@@azamkhan1526 Unfortunately Sir Syed was one of the reasons for separation between knowledge of deen and dunya, the other being some of Ulema of the subcontinent at the time. This is problem of today. The religious class is filled with people who didn't make it in school. That is why there is a disconnect with them when it comes to certain issue. How it used to be in the Islamic tradition was the educated class themselves were the religous class and promoted study of the deen, in coexistence with dunyawi sciences. The Universities of today need to bring back this healthy coexistence where the Ulema are the brightest of people with institutional support, as is the case now in Malaysia. There is an article by Yaqeen Institute on this that is worth checking out.

@Jokedot No i am not. I am a Muslim who follows the Quran & have a Quran centric approach to hadiths. Like Jinnah and Iqbal did.
