I love how Renee said that the audience needed something at the end of the episode to show that everything between Xena and Gabrielle would end up okay. I'm glad it was added. Why do lesbian couples need to have a butch and a fem? Why can't both be butch or both be fem? I find it ironic that the lesbian couples, supposedly feminists, who complained about Gabrielle's new hairstyle were more obsessed with gender roles than heterosexuals.
I know this is an old comment but Xena dressed masculine and feminine and Gabrielle dressed masculine and feminine too. I’m a gay girl and honestly we don’t care if a woman is masculine or feminine because if you’re attractive and got a decent personality what else matters it’s down to the respect of a person anyways

Also, this was the '90s, and the LGBTQ+ communities and feminist communities were different than they are now. All communities are shaped by their time, and communities and societies change and grow.
