Construction of Cēsu SES | 19.85 MWp photovoltaic PV power station in Latvia | Saules Energy

Construction of solar power plant Cēsu SES took place during the summer of 2024 and it was commissioned in September 2024. Plant is located right at the substation Cesis thus providing green energy to almost 10 000 households of the region.
The new new solar plant is designed with 33 540 solar panels with a total power of 19.85 MW which will produce 20 400 MWh per year.
Total investment in Cēsu SES exceeds 12 millions euro, including a 6.5 million euro loan from Luminor bank.
Cēsu SES is the largest of the eight new solar power plants developed by Saules Energy and financed by Merito Sustainable Energy Fund I. The 50 million euro green investment in the economy in Latvia is a shared effort of Merito and other financial institutions. The new power stations will produce at least 70,000 MWh of electricity per year, thus supplying green energy to more than 35,000 households throughout Latvia.
