- I am a quadriplegic who sustained a spinal cord injury at level C5/6 in a motor vehicle accident in 1985. I have been inspired to utilize my three decades of experience as a quadriplegic to help others with spinal cord injuries improve their quality of life.

You're the McGyver of quadriplegics! Lots of tips and tricks to improve the lives of people with disabilities! Great job guy ! 😘
Thank you for your vídeos. Inspiration for so many people. You are a stronger and brave Man. IF possible show more vídeos about your Live in The house. Tks and take a care in quarentine.
Thank you for your videos. I have been in a manual wheelchair for a month now, and was in a walker with a seat a month before that. I just started looking for videos on RUclips dealing with this. You videos are informative. I have had problems getting my rump over the wheel too. The board is a great idea. I have just been throwing my torso onto the bed and grabbing the other side of the mattress and pulling myself up.
I'm glad you're finding my video helpful. I certainly hope you find a way to transfer that works for you and is safe. Best of luck! 😎🤙
very admirable - God bless you sir
C6 incomplete, 6 months in. Honestly, that you do this with no triceps, using a manual.. Nevermind the fact that it looks like you live alone, so who knows what else you accomplish.. This was really inspiring for me and I needed to see it, because it's easy to think I won't be able to do most anything at this point in my life, let alone have my own place.. You even had a great attitude. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for your kind words, Seth. It's a lot of work, but you can do it, too. I don't live alone, but I am very independent. You're capable of doing a lot more than you realize and will discover that as time go by. With time and practice, you will be able to do your own transfers and so much more. Stay strong, persevere and never give up no matter how difficult the situation. 🧑🦽 😎 🤙
Form a coalition with others. Looking at other content providers, it looks like you have the same problems.
Wheelchairs should be intuitive. You do repetitive motion, it could be programmed to assist you.
If you extended your legs…if the footrest had a brain in its head ……it would periscope extend the footrest.
Now you’re flat, lying on the beach….roll onto the bed.
If you used dollar store pool noodles under the transfer board, it would be easier to move and position.
Pool noodles are light as a feather. Use one to flip off the light switch.
What we need is not in medical supply catalog. Its sport supply, camping equipment, playground equipment parts catalog.
If a sleeping bag could lift a supine user, machine lift over the bed, drop sleeping bag. Think of it…they’re high quality, lightweight, moisture resistant, and easy to zip.
What content providers are doing is phenomenal. Come together. Make change. Crowd sourcing is the answer.
Can’t wait to find out what hospitalization will cover. Crowd source.
Monetizing websites. Not hoodies and coffee mugs for merch.
As you had the build up for the rope…I couldn’t wait to see BTW….I had in mind a cargo gate. Those criss crossed web belt barriers that hold back groceries and pets in a SUV.
We’ve put up with this too long. With your fantastic videos, you are creating needed change.
Bring users together. It’s all sadly lacking. George Jetson had Rosie, yet we struggle.
Transformer toys were 1983, yet all we get out of wheelchairs is wheeling.

Hi , may I ask why you stopped posting videos?
Well done Jim! I use a longer transfer board and mine is durable plastic- seems more lightweight for me…Wondering what type of wheelchair you have
Hi Bonnie, thanks for your comment and question. I'm using a Quickie 5R rigid wheelchair and a 20" ADI slide board.

Great job, Jim! Is your channel still active?
Yes, new content in the pipeline soon. 😎
@@JimWeber Great, I just now subscribed! I have a C5-6 SCI (post 38 years) and am exceedingly happy to see how other quads cope and adapt to life's trials and challenges. :-)
