I had to arrange for burial of both my parents. It was a painful experience. They're buried next to each other in an outdoor crypt. Neither parent had a plot. Wish they had so it would have been easier.
@susannaCdonovan23 You're right, it can be a tough experience. My husband and I prepaid our cremation expenses, filled out our medical directives, and created our wills before we even adopted our children. Wish our parents had done the same

She understood, no qwams about it. And bestow me after she went to heaven with the money from the burial plot. Thanks Mom..Always Mell 🤗💖😽
I'd like to know where the phone was that Laura used when Rob's mother called. In other episodes whenever Rob or Laura were on the phone it was usually on the end of the kitchen counter, sometimes on the dining table. When Rob and Laura's father were in the kitchen there was no phone on the counter and it definitely wasn't on the dining table that was all set for dinner. If I remember right, there was a phone in Rob & Laura's bedroom on the night table, if not, maybe there was a phone in the den, or whatever that room off the living room was. Either way that could be why you couldn't hear the phone ring when they were in the kitchen.
@@garypesci746when someone calls your house ALL the phones ring.... unless you've turned the ringer off of certain ones. You'd still hear the phone ring all over the house.
My burial plot has been purchased. It's very important to me where I will be buried. I currently live one hundred miles away. But, that doesn't matter. My burial spot is near other family including my son, near where I grew up, went to school etc. "In Dixieland where I was born early on one frosted morn (it was actually snow) look away look away to Dixieland." "I'll live and die in Dixie !"
This didn't make sense, the burial plots were on a golf course?! Was there any mention that the golf course was going to be converted to a cemetery? It was obviously still a golf course since their dads had just played on it that day. Did I miss something?
You know it's crazy. They're actually making such a big deal out of family burial plots and yet, when you're dead you're not going to know or see or feel where you're buried. Or care. I'm sure. If you believe in an afterlife, it should only matter that you reunite with your loved ones in heaven. My sister died years ago and she is buried in one state. My dad is buried over 600 miles away. We haven't visited their graves in over 20 years, and my brother visited my dad's once about 13 years ago. Due to living so far away. But tbh I feel just as close to them in my heart. My memories and my dreams. And anyway, if you are were in the Christian/ faith, when Christ returns ppl are going to be resurrected out of their graves so it would be a lot of angry family members fighting over nothing cause you're not even going to stay in the ground. So idk it's just kinda silly that ppl fight over this kind of stuff. Really not worth being angry or losing loved ones over.
I agree. Plus, what's to say one doesn't want to be buried but cremated? What then? It is foolish to talk about funeral burial locations when things for the living changes. I know I had to buried my mother since she didn't want to be cremated. It would have been easier but no, she wanted us to pay the cost of a burial plot when she was difficult in life and still in death. Especially when they didn't have insurance but we accepted her request as we always did even providing loans which she never paid back. Personally, I wished it was the old movie back in the late 60s, "Logan's Run" that when one reaches 30 - you are sent out to heaven with a big explosion. Great idea! Too bad we can't conform to that idea. Cheaper in the long run and not more expensive insurance to keep paying premiums.
@@homegown1234Yeah I understand . When I was growing up, cremation was not something that people did much in Indiana. But that was in the 1990's. Idk about today. I must have attended over 20 funerals in a span of 10 years and every person was buried. I think maybe some people think its voodoo? My family is kind of like that. It wasn't till I was in my mid 20's that I started attending memorials of people who were cremated.
I do think having a spot can be helpful for healing. I've visit my great grandparents grave (who I knew) a couple of time since they passed. Yes, I'm a Christian and no I don't think it really matters where you are buried but sometimes for those left behind having a place can be helpful with grief. Really depends on the person. I’ve realized that most people when they get old don’t look like they did in their youth. Yet if, for example, you see a picture of the father when he was young looks very much like the son does now. Mother Nature isn’t nice! 😂

Rob set the tray with dessert down between Laura's mother and father and Laura even pointed out to her dad that she had made his favorite dessert. What he says at about 6:50, is interesting, considering he's one of the few adults (if not the only one) from this show that's still alive.
Did you notice when Rob called his MIL "Allan"

21:24 is my favorite moment of Laura.
Decades later-here we are with a pre-paid cremation service plan-a layaway plan, as Rob said.
At the end, Laura is reading the Los Angeles times. That is, not the New York Times.
Great observation.
