[Chorus]
When all the little ants are marching
Red and black antennae waving
They all do it the same
They all do it the same way

I want to personally thank the entire Dave matthews band. The OG 5, Dave, Stefan, carter, Boyd and the late great Leroi Moore. All of you touched my heart with your music, but Leroi was special, you know that. I also have to include Butch Taylor, and of course, the Lovely Ladies. Before these
crowded streets was just a beautiful ballad from beginning to end. I haven’t kept up with a lot of the newer songs, but I plan on learning them all and jamming out all summer, just in time for Ocean’s calling in September in Ocean City Maryland, that’s where I live now. It sold out in like 2 hours, of course, but I’ll get some tickets somewhere, and I plan to be close enough to touch all of your hands. So, stay blessed, stay well, and take grace in knowing you may have saved my life with your music, and at the minimum, changed my life forever.
I ♥️ DMB.
Oh if it’s possible, could you slip in number 41 on the Setlist when you’re here, that’s my favorite. Like Dave said, I wrote 40 ssongs and then I wrote this one. I’ll never forget that. Sometimes I feel as though I’ve lived 40 lives, and this one’s gonna be #41. My encore.
Hands and feet are all alike.
Yes they are,
cry freedom,
cry peace.
We have not lost our way.
GOD walks with us.
The year was 1995, I was in 5th grade and asked my parents if I could play the electric violin because all I wanted to do was play Ants Marching! Took lessons for a year, but was no Boyd Tinsley!
Around the same age and congrats for trying .. but yes sir Boyd is being 🔥
Fun fact: you can also learn how to play a regular violin.
Play Dave Matthews Band! No hits, deep tracks only. 😏
this is what eventually brought me here
+Zack Botkin Lmao yes that's why I'm here
Jacoby Nixon the nard dog
Mike Honcho 👎🏻
I said deep tracks only ! (Nods head)
Glad I found these guys. Their music is just what 2024 was missing.
Ohhhh bud, im so glad you found em, but you missed out on the last 30 years of em. Absolute nostalgia coming back to this
Real fans call him Dave.
Life between the Cold War and the War on Terror, where the big concern was boredom in the suburbs. My god how far we've fallen since 2001...
90 seconds to midnight. Nuclear war is here again...

"I said no hits !" This is definetly a hit
Love that scene!
I really wish I had just returned my blockbuster dvd, I had thought I returned
Deep Trax ONLY!
Deep tracks ONLY!!!
@@J.R.in_WV the fact that 2 fantastic TV shows can be referenced so easily with this song is amazing.
His real fans call him Dave.
DAAAAAAAVEE
What do his Fake fans call him ??

surprised no one got the community reference
Between the sheets ???
Forgive me for being alive in the 90's and having two ears connected to a heart!!
Your Forgiven
geensloth911 but I don't forgive you for being the spawn of satan "Tree Hugging hippies from the 60's that destroyed the nuclear family and created PC AMERICA."
90's rocked. Screw anyone else's opinion. Music today is garbage.
annmarieknapp Music is subjective
So did anyone get the Community reference?
Just realized Community aired a show that featured Dave Matthews (or Dave as hardcore fans call him) on his actual birthday. Awesome.
These crimes between us grow deeper. Just a bunch of bad actors. ❤️ ya Page.
Truly introduced by people once knew and still loved from afar. Thank you.
Instantly transported back to being 9 years old and discovering what the mid 90’s was all about yet having not a clue. Take me back.
"hee haw haw haw haw hee haw haw" - Starburns
You’re not the Ass Crack Bandit...
OH my god, this made me bust out laughing!
StuBums
um, his name is alex!
If I come over there there's gonna be two sounds
I'm not sure if anyone of you know, but this drummer is one of the best ever.
Very fun to watch...
This song from his perspective. Dude is a legend for sure.
ruclips.net/video/Kt46Hga1VGM/видео.html
Why? Because he can keep the beat in a standard 4/4 number?
So true
Among the Greatest: Eric Clapton's Also. Such an Influence.
to this day, this song, this band...
Man this songs brings back good memories
That video will make you feel old. Feel good. But old too!
It's a mind set . Literally woke up the other day being down and this helped me.. Wild . Will be great in any era
❤
"Yeah? Well, around here, we call that Wednesday!"

Exactly. It was driving me nuts which song that was.
*"we look at each other
wondering what the other is thinking*
*but we never say a thing and these crimes between us grow deeper"*
damn that line hits hard
Damn, that line hits hard😂
This was the only Song my Dad jammed the radio to and the only song he went to the music store to buy. He absolutely enjoyed this song. Thank you so much for giving me this this memory of my Dad. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My dad played this and all of Dave so much like always in the car, and as a kid I hated it, now im in my 20s listing to this smiling thinking of him and imma be honest the song slaps its good.
I love the song for years and love it even more after having seen the video and the drummer wearing a NY Rangers sweater!!!! LGR!!!
I remember liking this song and then suddenly all I would hear is a not so great sounding live version on the radio and that became the only version they would play! Why?! The studio version is so much better!
I remember buying Under the Table and Dreaming back in 1994, it was so fresh and completely different than anything else I ever heard, every time I listen to it, it takes me back to that time in my life, the 90's were a great time to be young and alive
I wanna be young and alive again.
Yes they were!!!
Same here I was 14 at the time. The 90s were great!
One of my first CDs!
HELL YEAH
The thing about The Dave Matthews band is the "depth" of their music is astounding! So many layers of different instruments come together within the song its hard to really know where its all coming from
I agree, I’ve always described this band’s sound as dense and inscrutable!
This is such an ear worm and lives rent free in my head; to this day, I'll be driving to work with the radio off and the opening strings will fill the silence in my head.
Beauford kills it in this song
there is something about this song and it never gets old and it is fantastic really
In short, streets ahead
The word you were looking for was community
It's a classic and on of my top favorites by DMB
that violin riff
10 years later still doesn’t get old
You gotta love the classic Dave dance in this video. It screams his persona. And so energetic. I call it the boogie bop skip kick dance.
Perfect way to describe Dave
Songs Here in Key of Life
Hell's yeah facts before everyone 9f my basketball games this song always played on the radio
Another great song great band from the 90’s so if you missed the 90’s sucks to be you!!!
This song reminds me of what it means to be in a band. Talented musicians each with their own individual parts to play. It's amazing.
“No hits, deep tracks only” ~ Andy Bernard
DAVE I LOVE YOU SO MUCH
Hes thr best reminds of Massachusetts for real david mattews babd alll day
Some songs you just love forever from the very first note, this is that song. ❤
It’s ok
Such a perfect way of describing this song.
Thank you for being a light on this dark path we call life.
Exactly! And Go Tigers!
The sax solo at the end is just such a perfect way to end this epic song. I never got to see Leroi live, so I never got to experience the talent that this man had during a live concert. RIP Leroi Moore
Leroi is fucking spectacular live. Especially tripping on mushrooms. I'm sorry you didn't get to experience Leroi. RIP Leroi
Hopin to hear this song on repeat in the afterlife!🪈🎷 🥁 🎸 🎻 🤘🏼
Played this for My Mom who just died she was born in Queens. ❤
Community has been renewed for a sixth season! Listen to Dave and rejoice! #sixseasonsandamovie
Where's my f**king movie?
@@jordanrock3494 exactly
That's Carter Beauford my man!
@@jordanrock3494I know it's extremely likely you know at this point about the Community movie currently in production, but thought I'd comment anyways.
This song is definitely a streets ahead
Stop trying to coin the term streets ahead!
God, this song is so badass that there are no words at all in the human language to describe the badassness 😮
Once the hearth is opened, all the lyrics of every song ever made is a story of truth and the nature of this 2d ant world.
My aunt is a huge Dave Mathews fan. As a child I never understood why she liked him so much. As an adult I finally understood why😂.Ants matching and you never know are 2 of my favorite songs ever
I hope Twisted Tea uses this in their next commercial...

I see what you did there...haha
Dave knows what's up.Thank you is the only thing left to say!
This was THE song September/October 2000....it was played all over everywhere.... I remember this when we bought a house that year....what a time😊👍
THE VOICE
ALL AMERICAN..
Africa
respect, thank you.
who was alive the day this album was released?
Alive Hell my kids were listening to this I'm 70 and still jammin to this 😅
I was ten. Remember it vividly 😂
DYNAMIC IMPROVISATION at its finest !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will forever love the music of the 90's! :)
I believe it was a magical time in music. Nothing quite moves me in the same manner
im kinda just rediscovering dave matthews band, i havent listened in 20 years. i miss these classics and man they make me feel good listening to them again
Absolutely playing at my funeral
Sends me back to The Colony in Chikara
I love the drummer's attitude.this band is awesome, great production, they sound great on a good home system.
We love too, and look for it when he performs!
Carter is by far 1 of the most talented drummers
Saw them 2 days ago and he always looks like he is having the time of his life!
I've never seen him without a smile! Dave and the drummer feed of each other in a positive way
I’m surprised nobody is talking about what this song is about, it’s the everyday routine of your average middle class, and how they’re living in a modern dystopian
It's basically the same message as the old classic folk song by Malvena Reynolds "Little Boxes"
We know, that’s why we love it most people can relate.
I didn't like this very much when it came out, but listening now I'm struck by how original and unique they sounded.
Definitely captures the mid 1990s.
2024 ❤🎉
This song reminds me of the lame little town I am from but I love it all the same
2024 and still jamming to this Dave Mathews Band gem❤🎉
I’m listening to Dave Matthews Band Ants Marching mid June 2024
4:14
This song is timeless and 29 years after its release it still RESONATES! The fiddle part is LIFE people. Seriously.
Politics aside. These guys absolutely are some of the most talented musicians in the last 30 years. Easly.
what politics? Dave is an anti zionist, thats a great thing
Over 20 years later....still just as good as the first time I heard it. This song in the summer? Absolute magic!
Yes! I had this album on a record in the car and when this song came on it was such a vibe.
Yes!
68 and still loving them to the moon
Deep tracks only
The way they brought it back in after the violin 🎻 solo was so dope....
Ants Marching...one of my Favs!!!
Never heard Dave until I sold his concert merch. I fell in love with the fans, then the music. Being a lot older than most I became known as ‘Mom’❤
COME BACK TO TORONTO 2023 !!!!!!! 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁✌🏿✌🏻
1:24 ❤
Love this song about NYC!
We grow old and slip into the ants marching. Then this song comes along and reminds us of what we lost.
Lets Go Rangers !!!
Love this shit!!❤
I never realized that at 3:23 Dave was about to sing another verse of this song!
Its saying go ahead take a chance, while there's still a chance to take, open that door and step through...
🎯
NLCS goes to commercials and this song starts playing. In my head I name the band and song. Not bad for a very casual fan. 🧠
I remember when I first heard this song I thought for sure this band would be a one hit wonder. Not because the song sucked, I've always loved it, but it just seemed so different. I was proven wrong for sure, but Dave Matthews first two albums are still their best by far!
Technically they became a zero hit wonder... they have a loyal following but never reached star status.
@@ernestogasulla7763
If you have a band, & also star in an episode of "House",
You have reached beyond star status!
Man I love Dave's face when Boyd starts to shred the violin!!
I hope my neighbors like this song
Me too 😂
Me too dave rocks my neighbors weekly
If you like This Song then your neighbors do too
F'ck em if they don't!
Finna bass boost this💀😝
Going to see a “Fake” Matthew’s band tonight can’t wait soon. In one hour it’s 7 o clock at 8 pm. Anticipated excited
Ive listened to this song every day for the past two months and i still love it.
Musicislyfe28 song kicks rock roll forever
Any band with accordion automatically gets an A in my book.
The drum riffs in this song are just sick.
That's because he is Dave, Dave Matthews of DMB ✌️💚🎶🙃
At 38 I'm just starting to appreciate this song, after hearing it a billion times for 30 something years and never having paid any attention.
this is the band that brings me up even when im down, and feel like there is nothing left to live for. these guys change lives on a daily basis!
True brother
So true!!
You clearly need to watch Bob Proctor. You’re welcome.
Fact!
3:22 to 4:05 brings the world closer together 🥹
This man was born with soul
JESUS
LeRoi’s horn at the end is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard ❤
29 years later and still jamming!!
I remember laying on my stomach playing Road Rash 64 while my mom had this on in the background. Don't remember the year. Doesn't matter. Always a hit.
I love this song so much. The lyrics are great, the music is so solidly put together, and on top of that takes me back to when I was in Junior high. This song just never gets old. RIP LeRoi
Save Greendale!
Drummer has such a sweet touch on his cymbals! ❤
that always underappreciated warwick bass growl
Here because his music was freshman year college for me. This and Satellite I always keep on the MP3 CD in the car. Along with Blues Traveler. Oh wait, I just went back about 15 years. 😋 Love you Dave
This was a favorite of my late sister. Her birthday is tomorrow. It’s been 6 years. I miss her so much..
I’m sorry for your loss I miss her for you 🙏☘️❤️
