Lovely stuff Nick. Just like so much in life the most important thing in practicing your instrument are the fundamentals; you have very concisely brought together brass pedagogue and pranayama, with principles from disciplines found in eastern martial arts. This combination, which you articulate so well, puts these commonly found brass exercises into a deeper context, imbues them with qualities which make them considerably more effective, and helps to mitigate against some of the unconscious and unnecessary tension that I see so often in players who, despite their best intentions, only go through the motions when warming up.

Some new stuff I have never tried here! I'll revisit this . . .

Love to hear this: it’s easy as a professional to assume that everyone does ‘as you do’ !
Let us know how you react.

@@NicksOnlineTromboneAcademy yea, you see the same references to routines, and creativity of exercises is often small in scope. Not everything has to be a Remington, be a "good" clear tone to be an effective warm up, or be a fast track to extremes...

@@bontrom8 well said! It ends up being a philosophical question lol! What is our aim here?!
