People stop hating on these dancers, they have devoted their lives to this and have actually made it. This performance did not happen without major sacrifices from both of them to get there. You can not like a dancer that is fine but honestly you don't need to be rude about their efforts. And maybe the choreographer told Pujol to hold her arms that way, and maybe being a good dancer is more than being technically perfect (Paquette). So watch the video and enjoy it for what it is or go find a different ballet video to watch, but don't be rude.

The choreographer, George Balanchine, has been dead since 1983, you imbecile.
Neither dancer can do Balanchine's steps. They disgrace themselves in every way, but not as badly as your utter ignorance and fatuity disgraces YOU.

Hilarious--one person hates Pujol for 'acting,' the next thinks she is 'emotionless;' one loves Paquette's dancing, the next thinks he's a 'beginner'....
That said, her arms are bad and mannered. Balanchine did not set specific arms (usually) FOR A REASON--he did not want diva 'ballerina mannerism' arm schticks, and unfortunately Pujol's arms are way out of kilter with this choreography. She is also behind the music....often.

He is 42 and retired last year, Paris Opera has set rules when it comes to retiring age, it doesn't matter how well a dancer dances, he has to retire at the certain age.

En général, quand on demande à quelqu'un le nom d'un danseur français,il y a beaucoup de chance pour qu'il nous réponde Karl Paquette...

As " le Corsaire " pdd Tchaikovsky Is mostly a technical-coreo but j like very much that with Lzetitia Pujol it's not : With L Pujol this Tchaikovsky-Balanchine is technic but also musical , the tempo of orchestra in more slow also and for on time it's not only technic but technic + musicality it's very rare with this masterpiece of Balanchine j like very much

@theamazingsoter Yes, the music of the whole pas de 2 is from Swan Lake but that's it, not the choreography nor costumes etc comes from Swan Lake that's what I thought was weird

I also felt that the dancing in general is quite emotionless. With such a powerful piece of music and such nice, flowy costumes, the expression of the dancers could have been much more emotional. They both looked like they were just getting through the steps.

I find this pas de deux wonderful! But why is the music at first the one of swan lake? !! or am I mistaking? I like Leatitia Pujol but i have to admit her arms are quite weird especially in her variation during the retirés it's ridiculous!!
