The only downside of having more frequent updates is having to update your instances all the time, which is always very annoying since you depend on mod developers to update every mod you use. I haven't played full vanilla in years, I always use mods for changing the UI, adding a minimap, making sounds more realistic, and stuff like that, this is basically what minecraft is for me now and playing without it looks just wrong. So now everytime one of my servers update (which is now going to be more frequen), I'll need to create a new instance and pray that all my mods, resource packs and shaders are working in this new version.
@@ZPNDG once you play with mods it’s really hard to go back. You’ll always have atleast some kind of modification, whether it’s a texture pack or a shader pack.
Seeing how they are doing smaller updates now, and people wanting an end update, I think a good approach would be to make a Pre-End update first, then do an End update.
They made a lot fixies with end things. Like the end portal frame, end gateway, shulker etc... AND NOW we have a new enderpearl feature, chunk loaders enderpearl. So they are doing a lot things about the end in the last months
Honestly, Mojang has been doing the Mob vote wrong for a while and getting rid of it is another point for doing it wrong. If every couple votes they had one that was three of the more popular loosers, like the ones that came in second in their respective votes, or even three random loosers, it would've been so much better than Mojang's "current" idea of scrapping the loosers entirely and never addressing them again. Kinda like how they've been doing the biome vote: "choose one and we'll focus on that one and then the others we'll get to eventually"
I wish but mojang are mad voters showed up and had opinions. It cost mojang the penguin and they are sore losers. They mean to ruin servers after advertising heavily

the main reason why minecraft 1.21probably failed in Mojang's eyes is probably due to the "chat report feature" which was forced upon the Java Community. it caused hell. false ban reports. i know a group of server owners who went out of their way to literally break said feature as it underrmined their authority when it came to managing their servers as it would take only one bad apple getting on to a server to cause issues.

most of the time, you theme a modpack around a singular version of minecraft, and not update it. 1.12.2 and 1.16.5 modding are still alive and well.
