- The talented and talkative Gina Neely is probably next known for co-hosting Down Home with the Neelys with Pat Neely. The show focused on Southern recipes and lasted for 143 episodes, ranking very highly among Food network's many programs.
But while everything appeared fine on screen, Gina was unhappy off camera. So in 2014, Gina and Pat divorced and ended their show, surprising her many fans. So, how has Gina Neely transformed since the end of her show? Now, she's a reality TV star, a motivational speaker, and she's created a line of sprays and candles, among other accomplishments. What do you think about Gina Neely?
Never been a fan. She has always come across as all diva and super self absorbed. The chemistry between she and her ex husband, Pat, always seemed disingenuous (at least on her end).

I always liked her ok, but I liked Pat better, but kind of changed my mind about her because I’m sure she was the reason for their breakup.
Too bad, Pat & Gina couldn't stay together. The show was great.
Twenty years of marriage and they decided to divorce. I wish they stayed together. I am not a fan of divorces especially after 20 years of marriage but it is their decision. Not mine.

I love Gina! She has such a great fun loving personality. I wish her the best in whatever endeavor she chooses. Miss seeing the show but it was great while it lasted.

I am reading the comments. Listen ppl their split was absolutely mutual. Both parties agreed they was unhappy. They both said they faked it all for TV purpose but when camera said cut, they was back at each other's throats. Their daughters witnessed the arguments along with staff. They been together since teenage year's. It was plain and simple time to move on. Both parties are happy now
They were not together since high school! They both got married to other people & had children & were apart 10 years after high school (when they parted ways)!
They had no business doing this show together.

I thought the relationship was fake AF but I liked the show a lot. I thought the food and the enjoyment of making the show was genuine. Sometimes people outgrow each other and there’s nothing selfish about wanting to move on with your life without your long term partner! I hope she’s doing great and living her best life!

I like both Gina and Pat Neely. It is wise to move on when you are unhappy in a relationship. The Food Network needs to have a show with Pat and his brothers, another cooking show with Sunny Andersen. I am tired of all of the food competition shows. Let's get back to the chef and celebrity cooking. Every since Paula Deen and her sons left the FN and CN, the networks were getting boring each year. I always love Ina Gartin's Show and Roger Mooking. There are a few other shows that I enjoyed too.

barb...ha! she wasn't educated enough to get a job as a dishwasher and she KNEW it. if she hadn't met pat she would be a street walker!. at least he had a successful business when she couldn't get a decent job or be discovered in hollywood (like her husband kept telling her she could) i'm glad pat has moved on and met someone who sees him as a partner and not a piggy bank!

So many of the comments here are So Nasty and Personal toward Gina. So, if she was "fake", was he not "fake" as well? He played along too; knowing the marriage was in trouble just as she did. I wish them both the Very Best and I am glad to hear that Both of them are happy.

The even crazier part is they’re mostly women doing this bashing. A bunch of singles who don’t understand the misery some women deal with in some marriages. They say if he wasn’t cheating on her then she should have worked it out. Life with another person is so much more than simply not cheating. Hell that’s the minimum.

I remember feeling so duped. They are such good actors. They were so loving and flirty on the show then going to separate homes. It's very disconcerting now that I know the truth.

The whole idea behind making them seem like they were in a Loving and Happy marriage was part of their marketability. So yes, they Duped us for the money.

Your story behind the story is very inspiring and revealing. I stayed in my marriage to be there for my husband. However, he wasn't there for me. Like you I tried, wanted to leave and stay on until I couldn't for me. I finally chose me!

I liked the recipes and food they presented but their relationship seemed so fake! All of that kissing and smooching was over the top that’s why her daughters wanted no part of that mess.
I think their relationship was already doomed while doing the show, I don’t know what happened but she didn’t seem that into her husband on the show.

If she wanted her own light as she puts it. She would have gotten rid of the Neely name.
Why did she keep it. Because she can make money off of it. Plain and simple. The Neely’s as a family owned restaurants long before Gina married Pat. In fact it’s the uncle that all true Foodies know.
She kept it because it's hers. Once they got married and she legally changed her name to Neely, it's her name.
While Jim Neely's bbq restaurant may be well known around Memphis, most people who are familiar with Gina know her from the cooking show, not the bbq place.
My sister got her maiden name back, I guess it's up to the individual if they decide to keep their married name or not!🤷🏽♀️

He seemed more humble and out the spotlight than her. The tv fame just opened her up to new options and experiences that she wanted to explore.

I can laugh at this now, but my step-father would always say he loves her more than she loves him. He saw the signs; we didn't. Glad to hear both are doing well.

@@keemiel4005 I think either they fell out of love with each other or she caught him cheating and thought she could forgive him and couldn't or something. He was willing to force it, and she couldn't do it anymore. That's just my theory though, that may not be the exact truth.

She became so full of herself and was overshadowing Pat, that her interruptions ruined the show for us. Gina looked more like s bully with Pat, his brothers and the guests. The Neely’s food was FANTASTIC, I hated to see their barbecue sauce unavailable from Walmart.

I loved the cooking show, but Gina always had something "smart" to say with Pat and other guest as well. I still supported the show because that was their business to accept or deny that treatment.

The only thing that makes me question her sincerity and genuineness is the fact that she said she only did the show for her husband and she never really wanted to be on TV but after her divorce, she was on everybody's TV show showing off her new look. My husband always says that once a married couple gets on "Reality TV", it eventually leads to divorce.

A person could initially not want to do tv and learn that they’re a natural at it. As the producer noticed her, she was just being herself.

I'm so happy for her It's been a long time since I watched the Neelys since I live in Puerto Rico in almost inside a national rain forest and I don't get cable or internet just local TV sometimes. I miss their restaurants in Memphis. The one downtown was a block from my office and they were often there. The one out east is near my home and you also would see them at that one. They are exactly like they appeared on tv. Really great food.

That dating show was weird ...
I just remember him trying to be affectionate towards her while she was loud, and winking at the camera. She came across as someone who thought she was extremely attractive. I didn't see it, but someone convinced her along the way. I hope he is doing well and is happy. He appeared to always speak well of and towards her on the show.

I saw through the laughs and flirting. I always said he was in love with Gina til the end but she didnt display that. Sometimes it seemed as if she didnt like him touching or gettinh too close to her. Sometimes she looked disgusted or tired of faking the funk..just my opinion and what i saw. Other than i love the show cuz the food always looked good and made with love
Yes ma’am. That’s exactly what I saw on every episode too. It was kind of disturbing and I felt sorry for him. But maybe things went on in the background to make her that way. Who knows. Wish them both the best.

7 years post divorce and Pat is remarried with new children and new shows. Haven't once heard him mention his past with Gina. But yet they keep marketing Gina's total existence about life after Pat! I think we all need to move on and heal perhaps

That's exactly what they're doing just trying to market Gina and draw in their previous viewers at the expense of digging up their past. Pat always wanted more children and Gina didn't. Shelby was a negotiation. So they simply may have wanted completely different things.
Both of these couples turned out as success stories. This was a good video of their lives.

I definitely missed their show I know it's been a few years and when I found out the restaurant closed a few years before it kind of upset me because I was planning to go see the restaurant
