It is totally understandable that, people have different situations and that leads to no cleaning. But even at that time also, one should aware that you have atleast a house to stay , doesn't matter rented or owned. There are so many people who doesn't even have a shelter . I think if we think in that way, we will get the courage and time to maintain the house.

Hey ya'll I really need some help, to start off I'd like to give some backstory so I'll start with that; My dad haven't been feeling the greatest for a couple of years now, and had started to not take the trash out or clean, wash clothes etc. So while he was gone for a month in the Philippines I decided to clean through the whole apartment. This was a huge job as for example his room was filled with trash literally from floor to roof and wall to wall as there only was so much space for him to go into his bed and to his computer, you couldn't even see the floor or open the window, this took me 4-5 days to completely finish cleaning, as for the rest of the apartment it was almost the same. He was pleasantly surprised when he came back home and had a clean fixed bed to sleep in and not trash in sight or even a single dirty spot anywhere, thing is I've tried keeping it like this and help but there's just too much trash now again that keeps piling up, such goes for the clothes, and dishes as well. How do I motivate him even more to start cleaning up? This has been going on for years btw so I guess it's just hardwired into him but I really need help changing this like advice on what to do. Thank you!
Great idea for Mark to move. A few other things that might help would be a security camera for the door like Ring Doorbell, or an alarm. A class on self defense and some pepper spray might help too. Whatever makes Mark feel safer. There is nothing like having your home broken into (I've had that), but to then be shot is awful. I hope they caught the person who did it. Nice job Aurikatariina! I think pepper spray is illegal here. I also never heard of anyone having security cameras like in USA. But I hope he finds a way to feel safer. In general Finland is pretty safe but anything can always happen. Must be so traumatic to happen in his own home of all places.

It's such a vicious cycle too. Poor mental health leads to poor surroundings, which leads to poor mental health, ad nauseum. And thus it feels impossible to dig oneself out of the pit.
There are people who do free yard work for people in need too. I like Sean at BladeMate in Australia. He uses the patreon money to do free work once a week.. He's very kind too.

Maybe it is worth consulting a specialist and finding out if it has touched you? I think there is still little talk about it, despite the fact that it may affect up to 20% of all women after childbirth, even if their previous pregnancies did not end in depression. I believe it's worth checking it out. I keep my fingers crossed for you, I wish you good health and all the best to you and your family!
As a former smoker I would like to give the tip to not smoke in the apartment. It can be very dangerous. Many people die in fires every year that they caused from their cigarette smoking. I was so shocked to see the burn marks in this video. He's a very lucky man to have you help him - of course his story is traumatic. It sound like PTSD and I hope he gets some psychological help. All the best to him!!!
The burned cigarette smell will never leave the apartment... And he was probably shot cause he was owning money or something like that. Who knows, these life stories are one-sided. But the cleaner girl is amazing at her profession
@@usagi_t There is actually an easy way to (mostly) get rid of cigarette smell :) mix some high concentrate vinegar (regular is fine too) with water and bring it to a boil. pour the hot liquid in bowls and place throughout the apartment. The vinegar vapour will bond with the smokey smell and it will dissipate with the vinegar fumes. If it's a one-room apartment, you can just let the mixture simmer on the stove for a while. Just be sure to wear protection, since the vapours can irritate your eyes and lungs, and thoroughly ventilate the room(s) afterward. This can be repeated as needed. Any fabrics should be washed at a high temperature, or replaced. It can also help to clean the walls with vinegar and/or give them a fresh coat of paint. I also wouldn't assume that Marc was shot because he owed money. Whoever broke into his home might have had other reasons. Maybe they didn't think anybody was home and were scared he would remember their face. Maybe they were just violent and looking to hurt someone. We don't know the whole story, and as far as we know, Marc is the victim here. We shouldn't seek to blame him for what happened.

I understand all of these messes. It isn’t because they don’t WANT to have a clean home… it’s because they physically and mentally DO NOT have any extra energy to clean their home. One thing leads to another. One dirty dish becomes two becomes four becomes eight and so on until the pile is huge and there’s no hope left. You’re such an angel for helping take that enormous burden off peoples shoulders. Having this fresh start must feel amazing.
I suffer from severe depression and anxiety along with severe ADHD. Your videos help me so much. Without you I wouldn't have the courage to get up and clean. Thank you so much for what you do for people. You're helping people even when you're not cleaning their house.

It makes me feel a lot better too! I struggle with keeping my house clean between anxiety, ptsd, and just general overwhelm from neurodivergence. These videos are both helpful in terms of new techniques to try and because they're just so satisfying to watch. And sometimes after watching them I have more mental energy to focus on one task and get it done.

As a former smoker I would like to give the tip to not smoke in the apartment. It can be very dangerous. Many people die in fires every year that they caused from their cigarette smoking. I was so shocked to see the burn marks in this video.
He's a very lucky man to have you help him - of course his story is traumatic. It sound like PTSD and I hope he gets some psychological help. All the best to him!!!
The burned cigarette smell will never leave the apartment... And he was probably shot cause he was owning money or something like that. Who knows, these life stories are one-sided. But the cleaner girl is amazing at her profession
@@usagi_t There is actually an easy way to (mostly) get rid of cigarette smell :) mix some high concentrate vinegar (regular is fine too) with water and bring it to a boil. pour the hot liquid in bowls and place throughout the apartment. The vinegar vapour will bond with the smokey smell and it will dissipate with the vinegar fumes. If it's a one-room apartment, you can just let the mixture simmer on the stove for a while. Just be sure to wear protection, since the vapours can irritate your eyes and lungs, and thoroughly ventilate the room(s) afterward. This can be repeated as needed. Any fabrics should be washed at a high temperature, or replaced. It can also help to clean the walls with vinegar and/or give them a fresh coat of paint.
I also wouldn't assume that Marc was shot because he owed money. Whoever broke into his home might have had other reasons. Maybe they didn't think anybody was home and were scared he would remember their face. Maybe they were just violent and looking to hurt someone. We don't know the whole story, and as far as we know, Marc is the victim here. We shouldn't seek to blame him for what happened.
As someone with ADHD, I never want to clean. Literally watching your videos has me deep cleaning within seconds

I understand all of these messes. It isn’t because they don’t WANT to have a clean home… it’s because they physically and mentally DO NOT have any extra energy to clean their home. One thing leads to another. One dirty dish becomes two becomes four becomes eight and so on until the pile is huge and there’s no hope left.
You’re such an angel for helping take that enormous burden off peoples shoulders. Having this fresh start must feel amazing.
I suffer from severe depression and anxiety along with severe ADHD. Your videos help me so much. Without you I wouldn't have the courage to get up and clean. Thank you so much for what you do for people. You're helping people even when you're not cleaning their house.

It makes me feel a lot better too! I struggle with keeping my house clean between anxiety, ptsd, and just general overwhelm from neurodivergence. These videos are both helpful in terms of new techniques to try and because they're just so satisfying to watch. And sometimes after watching them I have more mental energy to focus on one task and get it done.
