@Jacob Naimi Yup totally serious. Last show I bought tickets were at dillards and it was for the Scorpions. Also did the same for many mesa amphitheater shows as well.
Have you heard of IRS lil game in this, look up “opportunity zones” brought to you by the boys and girls of the IRS. Makes you think about a lot of the open spaces around your big city…
So the bottom line here is the area will look like e everything else with business buildings, homes and parking lots 😐. Sad Arizona never preserves the history of any of its areas.
I’m all for it the mall is just sitting there doing nothing. To be honest people don’t really care about the history of the place they just want a place to shop and live and hang out
Damn man I totally agree! Used to go there all the time. 36 now. Moved to north Dakota born and raised in Arizona. Arizona is a joke anymore. So much noise, traffic, people everywhere. They just keep building and building and building! No nature anymore. Humans are insane
I went to school in the area and use to go fiesta mall and buy things with babysitting money. Definitely sad as now it’s abandoned. I think it would have been cool if it was converted to collage MCC should swap property and open their campus there would be so neat
@@scaringthecheese thank you I appreciate that. People say it gets easier with time well it doesn't I miss him still, he was such an amazing loving caring brother, my only brother. I hate seeing that place.
I would bet the taxpayers in Mesa are going to get stuck funding part of this project. So why can't you get into the details mayor? Sounds like you may be trying to hide some shady dealings.
@@scaringthecheese sadly ? I’m excited I’m done with the ugly urban sprawl if you’ve never been in a walkable area you’re missing out Arizona needs more walkable spaces
The Mayor is probably the only person within the city that is aware Fiesta Mall is closed. I talked to a Director 3 years ago that had never heard of Whitfill Nursery that closed on McKellips and Gilbert road that had been there since 1967......
I used to love going to Fiesta Mall!
Great place to shop and socialize.
I have shoes and shirt I bought from there.
I wish people still visited malls.
Cool story
Used to line up for Compton terrace concert tickets back in the 80's and early 90's at that mall.

More apartments that no one can afford to live in!! What happened to the college that was going in?

@@frankarenas300 I have not! I live 5 minutes from there and like they are building those luxury apartments all around. 3k for a one bed.. no thanks.
I agree, something that would have actually been useful instead of posh appartments that will crowd the city
Wow I remember this place was active when I was growing up.. I moved out of AZ a while ago but crazy to see
So the bottom line here is the area will look like e everything else with business buildings, homes and parking lots 😐. Sad Arizona never preserves the history of any of its areas.
Greed... Born and raised here but looking for another state now. It's so sad to see this once great state turning into another Cali...

LOVED LOVED LOVED that mall.. Heavy sigh...
More tacky development. We're getting one on our corner, too.. Poor AZ..
Yep all I see in the planned map is new rent money waiting to be made

So what would you suggest we do with that empty lot?
Use the lot for parking.
Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall is awesome, if we could have a nice mall that would be nice.
I loved Fiesta Mall...I forgot all about it....I used to do hair there at Diamonds.
Sounds like a good plan for an “Opportunity zone” it will be good money for those on top…”affordable housing” suurrrrreeee
lol.. Right? More developer/investor greed..
Bring back fiesta mall 😢
Well is Was not 3 years it was 5 years cuz It closed Jan 2018 and was supposed to be campus 60 but it never was.
i still think they should make it into a huge "blues brothers" ride.
It's gone. 😢
Averal Lavigne performed here at one point
Amazon killing it🔥
Online retail has been doing in the brick and mortar retailers for well over a decade now.
@kramalerav8359 yeah I noticevother clothing retailers I used to shop at in Atlanta on Amazon 🤔
I’m not very confident for anything to happen really, nothing has happened in a month
That’s terrible news 😂😂😂😂 great more housing just what we need in this boring state
no we don't need more californians thanks
FM has run its course, and so has the city of Mesa
My brother was murdered in that stupid mall. I'm glad they are tearing it down.
Ugh.. I'm sorry to hear that. When did that happen?
@ScaringTheCheese it happened March 31, 2008 the worst day of my life.

Oh, we don't need more houses, please stop building houses here, just replace the old mall with a newer and better mall.
A better mall thugs can run down.

Literally what can they be hiding everything you need to know is public it’s in limbo figuring out what they want to do with the place
Too bad the Coyotes didn't get the property for a hockey arena.
15 minute city coming soon
Sadly.. I see this on every corner now.

build a trade school campus
New plans to bring drugs and crime to area.
Vans skate shop smelling like sex wax and the Gevalia coffee shop. Ah the good ol days.
Mayor John who? John Giles is the least effective and invisible mayor Mesa has ever had.
Where do they plan to get the WATER for it?!?!
Mesa does not deserve a new mall. They let things fail by corruption.look at Riverview?
Perfect spot for some low income housing.
They won't do that.. It's all about greed.
We want a new mall!!! Not new houses!!!!
Hello how are you doing today?
Turn it into housing!! Section 8 and senior housing!!
Good luck with that. Developers and investors only interested in more GREED..
I’m not going to a Mexican mall
You live in a Mexican state now buddy lol we took over
