from "how are we supposed to find love like this!" to "You're cute" "... that makes me feel weird." to "Not gonna lie..." not the character development I expected, but the character development we deserved
As proven by this episode, this game isn't just rich in its psychology, it also does a fantastic job in being a meta-narrative (narrative about narratives) The razor route you just did, for example, is a hilarious parody of the slasher horror genre. This route also is arguably the most chaotic route in the whole game, so it's great that you get to experience it. What I absolutely love about this game is that almost every route utilises some kind of cliche/trope/character archetype but twists it in such a way that both deconstructs / breaks down the trope being used AND expands upon the characters psychology. Oftentimes it even relates between the two i.e. how a trope reflects upon an aspect of the human experience. It's great stuff.
I find it kind of interesting that you were so distrustful of The Cheated that you missed/ignored really blatant warning signs that she was lying to you and wanted to kill you lol
I cannot believe you got the razor second try that’s absolutely hysterical. This run is one of the most chaotic, the amount of times you think “well this can’t get any worse” and then she explodes into a ball of spikes. The smitten also kills me every time, when he calls the princess “the perfect woman” and she’s this haunting pile of knives I can’t help but laugh. You’ve given the entity some very interesting perspectives loll.
I’d even say Stubborn’s more simpy than smitten. He’s a whole lot more respecting towards the princess and he’s not the evil-shadow-monster-eternally-eating-dinner-rip-your-heart-out-guy.
@@ilikepineappleonpizza4257 The Stubborn adores the princess as much as the Smitten, perhaps even more so, when she is thinking and acting exactly like he is and just wants a fight. That's why a woman made entirely out of blades is perfect to him
It's funny seeing how your first playthrough with the princess made you perceive Chapter 1 and made you do something so far away from what you originally intended, because you based your thought process on what you have learned during the Prisoner's route which the Hero should have forgotten The disconnect is real 😂
I have the controversial take that The Razor is better than The Thorn. The Thorn ends right as it gets interesting due to the limitations of the game but the Razor is a full circle satisfying route.
I normally dont write comments on the videos I see, but I wanted to say that, even as an avid fan of slay the princess, all of the playthroughs I've seen and all of the time Ive played this game, your take on this story is refreshing, the way you put yourself in the shoes of the protagonist is endearing and I really hope you continue this series, even after the main storyline ends, to explore the (many) different princesses that are in this game, thanks for this series.
Honestly super refreshing, after so many streamers i've seen paying more attention to their chats than the game. Not naming names, but there was one that was literally having like, bidding wars on the options in the game. That really put me off.
The truest beauty of this game to me is that it keeps its promise of having mo wrong choices, all are equally valid and meaningful. The developers did not want us to take any particular action. Go with your gut, go with your reasoning, or go with your heart. The story just provides you with options, then presents you with the consequences thereof - as unforseen as they may be. ❤

The way you play this game is fascinating! Other people seem to play this more as a game so they end up on the strait forward routes and deal with their mistakes and learn and change their decisions accordingly. You on the other hand are questioning everything and want to find answers by having the upper hand or some kind of control, spiraling and second guessing every move you make even if it goes according to plan leading to you getting very paranoid voices and assuming that your choices give you very little agency when in reality they give you all the agency in the world.

Hey, something you should know for getting into the head of your character, when you reset to the woods at chapter one, you lose your memory. You regain your memory every time you end up back in the Long Quiet . Of course you remember as the player, so carry on with connecting the different storylines, as they inform you on your approach to life, love, choice and relationships. (maybe you already knew about the memory loss thing, but at very least your player character doesnt recall the trauma of previous perspectives when he isnt in the Long Quiet.
In taking the knife, some part of you believes she must die. In not listening to her, some part of you believes she cannot be reasoned with. In checking her pulse, some part of you believes she may not have died, but that doesn't change the fact that you drove the knife into her heart. You reap what you sow. (love the playthrough btw, it's exactly the sort of deep dive i was hoping someone would make about this game)
I would LOVE to see you play through this more than just once. There's many routes that can't be seen on just one playthrough and many different ways to end the game. One specifically I would love to see you find.
Careful of course with comments. This game is its best when you go in truly blind and try to piece it all together as you go. One of the best games I've played in years, and yet my experience was and will be totally different than yours.
Keep 2 things in mind; 1) This is a game about creativity and the journey spawned from that creativity. Ultimately you are only exploring different personality types based on that particular perspectives journey. 2) Each time you end up at the Long Quiet you bring the entity a new perspective and outlook on life. Every time you are erased back to natural and in doing so the playthrough is essentially reset back to the beginning to craft a new perspective. Do not be afraid to be creative and try outlandish things. This game has a lottttt of different perspectives and endings to explore. Its about the journey. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing a longer episodes where you bring 2 perspectives back to the entity. I would love to see an extended episode. Throughly enjoying the series thus far 😊😊😊
Something that is wild to realize is that you only had the chance to, theoretically access half of the total routes available. Less, even. All from a single decision. After all, what possible "ally" enters a conversation with a knife already in hand?
17:43 I really love to go through the whole ordeal in the beginning, even if it does get a bit repetitive. It's very interesting and insightful to hear how the new voice is gonna react. The "you're here because you're special" line in particular is my favorite. Just seeing every voice's response to it is sooo funny but also tells a lot about their character!
Thinking about this game from a therapeutic perspective is so interesting, because in that framework, you know what the voices you develop after your death are? They're defense mechanisms. You went into a situation, you got yourself hurt, and now you have a maladaptive pattern of thought that is trying to prevent you from getting hurt again. The thing is that, as a therapist, you know that these reactions are maladaptive, and so you resist them, because they aren't conducive to future relationships. But chapter 2 isn't a new situation, or a future relationship. It's another interaction with the same person who hurt you. We as humans, develop defense mechanisms with a purpose, and that purpose is to keep us alive. All this to say, Cheated is a direct response to the princess. He KNOWS that princess, and if he tells you "if you get too close to that woman, she's going to stab you," he's probably right! What's interesting psychologically is noticing when listening to the voices is helpful, and when it isn't. Are their goals aligned with yours? Is what they are saying reasonable, or have they dug too deep in to their own framework and are misleading you? In this game, there are no wrong choices, or course. Every route, every ending, is the right one for your journey. But you might go into the cabin with a specific goal, maybe killing the princess, maybe saving her, and if you want to reach those outcomes, the best way to is listen (not follow, listen) to what the voices are saying, all of them. What are they repeating? Where do they disagree with eachother? Hero, especially. Hero is usually naive and empathetic, but when another voice is being unreasonable, Hero will usually have a clearer picture of the situation. And we can compare that to examining our own impulses! I feel uncomfortable talking to this person because they remind me of someone who hurt me in the past. Is that a reasonable reaction? Are the similarities superficial, or is there real evidence that might make me not want to pursure this relationship? If I put my trust in this person, is that breaking a cycle of mistrust, or is it unnecessarily putting myself in a place to be harmed? The voices are what they are and they think how they think, but that doesn't mean they can't help you, you just have to be careful about knowing when to take their advice.
ive seen all your videos thus far and i must say, i think this is the most important video you've made yet.. particularly about expanding ones access to emotional needs, that hit hard for me. what a great game choice to move from disco elysium, i didn't think another game would bring out so much.
Only Brady will power through his lesson about limited emotional range while playing an ending with the full spectrum of the game's emotional states on display.
The discussion about the choice theory perspective was really insightful. Its really interesting how emotione influence our decision making and how you were able to relate it to the game like damn,😮 This is such a fun run especially when it keeps repeating and adding new voices hahahah
I love your playthrough, you're getting the game on a whole another level and because of that getting to experience one or the most interestng pathways
im praying (non religiously) that you get the thorn princess, one of the most impactfully versions of the princess in my opinion (though im biased lol)
I think one of my favorite things about this game is the way your actions shape the chapters, and even how each princess has things in common with each new voice. like the skeptic and the prisoner, whose chapter you achieve by being skeptical of the narrator's actions and assisting the princess's escape, both conspiring quietly to escape without drawing the eye of the narrator. its VERY fun to see your actions actually have specific consequences
I’m so fascinated by how in tune you are with the game. Like even though you went into this run thinking about the last run (even though canonically the main character should’ve forgotten that) you still managed to feel and think through like it would. Watching you play this game and psychoanalyze and go through your thought process is like rediscovering and recontextualizing what I already know while still ending with a similar take away. It really makes me think and I find myself learning quite a lot.
This one took me back. The razor was the first princess I met. Although I got to her in a different way. Needless to say after this I was scared shitless of her and what she could do, and it really shaped my first playthrough! Glad you got to experience it early
HAHAHAHA YESSS the laughing intro tells me all I need to know lolll!! Im SO happy you got the most objectively normal perspective with the "full" prisoner last time which just left the best space for you to be EXTRA blown off your feet by some of the more out there perspectives. What a ride we are in for 🎉
You have GOT to play The Stanley Parable if you haven't already. If you liked the whole Pissing Off The Narrator thing you will LOVE Stanley Parable I prommyyyyyy it's so good :D
Somehow, I didn't think about how awesome a therapist's take on Slay The Princess would be. Hearing what you have to say about it all as you go on is almost just as fun as playing STP is itself, haha. I think this episode went right to "I can break him" to the Player Character, haha. I certainly am looking forward to how you think about the other routes.
Love watching you play! The way you engage with the story is wonderful! It even prompts me to consider my emotional range, and which needs I am too zoomed in on the be at the full range and depth of what I can experience.
-Remember to save the game if you want to see different outcomes. -You weren't fully in it. You questioned if she's slain. -I would recommend trying to achieve various emotions to explore. In this route you get to hear all the voices so think about who you would like to hear again. -Look at the basement of the razor. Then look at a picture of an anglerfish - 57:50 me when a new voice in head starts arguing - 1:03:40 i prefer the term "neurodivergent" - 1:23:00 i like your way of thought. I would also say that its no just a story with love in it. But a story *about* love itself as a concept. A meditation on it. -When you reach the heart of things, try to do what you did the first time. -Oh, and remember: she's unarmed
What an emotional rollercoaster this episode was! Enjoyed every minute of it, despite your suffering, hehe. (Or maybe because of it?) I don't agree with people saying you overanalyzed The Razor. Yes, she's very single minded, but what you explained about the relation of stress with emotional ranges, it just made her character click for me! Really cool stuff.
That line about gifts always gets me. Whenever a gift-giving holiday comes around people always ask eachother "what do you want me to give you?". Is it because we all no longer know each other enough? Are we just so afraid of disappointing others that we don't want to even try?
The first two and a half minutes reminded me of when I played Alter Ego for the first time. Alter Ego is essentially a Personality Quiz given life. It’s really interesting if you’re at all curious.
Creature of perception, remember :D? 17:00 That's a surprisingly... solipsist approach. While I agree The Cheated is a good example of obsessing about confirmation bias, he is also... right, isn't he?
feeling so stressed because he's being like "uhmm idk if she's REALLY the same as last time we killed eachother?" like, my guy, buddy, i don't want to be rude but... there IS a reason she wants to kill you and that is because you killed her first
9:00 I think in a way, she isn't dead. In a very meta, spanning-between the different iterations of the game so far way, she isn't. She's more like the drawing and dialogue we see of her in one instance. She is also the other ones. She is a concept, and concepts can't die.
i really appreciate the level of thought u put into empathising with the mc in games you play, and when you explain the thought process behind decisions you make. i think ur perspective is really unique and id love for you to do more decision heavy role playing games in the future. great video as always
Definitely explore the unarmed options in future episodes they lead to very interesting routes. Also this might help, but when you bring vessels to "her" at the end of a run, think of it as a safe space. The self doubts and questions you have won't manifest the voices there. You can be as honest as you want with her and she will be equally with you. Until she wipes your slate clean

Day two of touting the brilliance of the game Omori! Same vibe with Psychological horror, but it is a brilliantly crafted turn-based RPG with an amazing art style and a very comfy feel until its not. Story is a phenomenal experience and dives head first into really heavy themes of mental health and escapism. It is one of those games where you wish you could forget it so you could play it again blind! Honestly a life changing game!
I love this series! You're definitely doing the psychology of the game justice and I can't wait to see you go through different routes. Never heard about choice theory and your lesson was fascinating!
It’s really interesting to see you analyze the mentality of the characters and try to understand how the mental states of them change throughout the course of the game. I also think it would very interesting to see your thoughts on the game “in stars and time” if you’re interested . Without giving anything important story wise away about it the game is also focused on timeloops like slay the princess is and focuses alot on how being in a time loop affects the main characters mental state after awhile. I understand if you’re not interested playing another time loop game right after finishing one or while already playing one, and still find your play through of slay the princess really interesting! Sorry if this comment is a bit long! Hope you continue to enjoy the game and I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of your play through!

now I understand that line "You carry a part of what should be her, and she carries a part of what should be you."
1:08:04 woah... That almost sounded like *awe* in Cold's voice. Iiiiinteresting!
When even Cold is shaken, you *know* you’re screwed.
If you want love try not taking the blade for a change.
The razor is among my top 3 favourite princesses, shes so hilarious and even flirty at times
This one took me back. The razor was the first princess I met. Although I got to her in a different way. Needless to say after this I was scared shitless of her and what she could do, and it really shaped my first playthrough! Glad you got to experience it early
Yeah it’s time for full house of voices judging by thumbnail
“This makes it clear that we’re not some sort of avian creature.”
Does He Know?
I truly hope he gets "happily ever after", would be a 3 hour episode.
(liking my own comment because I Lov Myself :3)
Somehow, I didn't think about how awesome a therapist's take on Slay The Princess would be. Hearing what you have to say about it all as you go on is almost just as fun as playing STP is itself, haha.
I think this episode went right to "I can break him" to the Player Character, haha.
I certainly am looking forward to how you think about the other routes.
HELL YEAH PART 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love you playing, this guy is just like me but i am not a therapist
Please always ask the Entity at the Long Quiet her thoughts in the vessel everytime.
Then look at a picture of an anglerfish
- 57:50 me when a new voice in head starts arguing
- 1:03:40 i prefer the term "neurodivergent"
- 1:23:00 i like your way of thought.
(Or maybe because of it?)
I don't agree with people saying you overanalyzed The Razor.
I guess you’re almost ready, as a therapist, to ask the most important question for playing this game:
“Who is the client?”
Behold, the perfect woman!
If he thinks the Razor is gory, just wait until he potentially gets to the Fury
She made me genuinely sad😢
Please do more, I am so invested into hearing your explanations on the motives behinds the voices!
I reccomend you lock the princess in the basement, because where that leads to has A LOT to talk about therapy wise.
There's definitely a reason he almost ended up there in the first run, before he pivoted to Prisoner.
This is brilliant. You keep embodying these points of view that are immediately confirmed by the writing and the voices.
This game gold mine for a therapist and I am all for it. THIS IS INTERESTING.
All those voices. Such a big Mental Family we have 😆
I hope he doesn't take the knife in his final visit to the cabin. I'd really like him to reach "that" final ending on the first run.
When you're a literal therapist and you think the solution is killing yourself :v
not the princess i expected brady to find, but this one is deffintely fun
feeling so stressed because he's being like "uhmm idk if she's REALLY the same as last time we killed eachother?" like, my guy, buddy, i don't want to be rude but... there IS a reason she wants to kill you
and that is because you killed her first
31:28 "Okay, I guess we're fucking cooked then." - Voice of Brady
9:00 I think in a way, she isn't dead. In a very meta, spanning-between the different iterations of the game so far way, she isn't. She's more like the drawing and dialogue we see of her in one instance. She is also the other ones. She is a concept, and concepts can't die.
He is slaying this play through ngl
this is the perfect game to be deconstructed im so glad i found this
I love seeing how giddy you get when your presumptions are vindicated. The excitement from 50:29 to 51:00 is so contagious
i really appreciate the level of thought u put into empathising with the mc in games you play, and when you explain the thought process behind decisions you make. i think ur perspective is really unique and id love for you to do more decision heavy role playing games in the future. great video as always
This is shaping up to be my favourite Slay the Princess playthrough!! I really hope the devs see this one
I love your deep insight in the characters! Your commentary is definitely more meaningful than most reactors!
YESSSSSSSSS MY FAVORITE PRINCESS
When I first played through the Razor route I felt like it was written as a metaphor for toxic relationships and I'm glad you caught on to that too
Seeing the utter glee as you see theory put into play is such a treat.
The edit is really thoughtful!! the facecam placement, the analysis text!! Thaaanks Eurobrady
✨✨I'm founded your channel by thoses slay the princess videos, I'm trully happy and enjoyed it!
Thanks for continuing this stunning, emotional and meaningful game. It's definetly worth it!✨✨
💙All your analysis like the choice theory, I can only agree with you and tentatives of toughts.
And I LOVED the empathy you showed near the end of video. You feel remorses in the acts of your pasts actions, because you take importances in your choices, may they be good or bad. I think empathy is trully important to feel on this game.💙
💜I hope you will stay on the game some more even after a "completed ending" (no spoil), you won't regret it.💜
👋To give insightful informations in the game and of course no spoil.👋
There is not just like 6 kind of princess, but like around 22 princess personas. All those personas have meaning and feels from your actions.
With thoses all thoses personas, you may imagine how many "endings" you can have. All thoses branch are possible.
Romance and freedom maybe 👀 (that's no spoil no worry)
💛I hope you will find the most heartwarming and sad endings or princess. Pray you good wonderful therapist dearly!!💛
After this episode, Brady is never picking up the knife ever again 😂😂
Brady at the beginning: I want to see what happens I want to be able to choose
Brady at the end: I regret everything...
man i finished this episode feeling sad
32:52
I mean the Princess wanted to talk with you on Chapter 1 and you just went straight in and kill her
So she is only returning the favor 🙂
Confirmation Bias is a hell of a drug!
I wonder if we'll see a path where Brady does everything as Narrator asks of him.
So good. The algorithm brought me to the first, I sought this one myself
31:15 The one time Brady and the Narrator were on the same page, lmao
