Hey man Kevin here from Australia. Great video good penetration is always good. When your welding of course. Anyhoo stay safe and stay well I'll see you on the next one for some body separation. ✌ Peace.
Hey buddy, penetration is usually a good thing in more than just welding 😂 I can’t wait to really get going on this project, hope it doesn’t drag out. Stay safe and well my friend.
I reckon some "bullets" would finish off the tube ends nicely! That is one solid front end extension. I like the "belt and braces" approach. After all, that's your life and maybe someone else's relying on the integrity of the suspension! Good work. Carboard Aided Design: I can truly relate!
The open beam ends. Well I’m not normal so I Would make it a time vault. Stuff some stuff from 2020. Cap the ends not to be opened for however many years. Just don’t put a vial of Covid 19 in there ha ha. What ever you do it looks like it will be done right and look good. Thanks for keeping me entertained!!!! Randy L Peterson
I appreciate that David, hope you stick around. I’m nothing fancy, just a guy doing my thing. I don’t know it all but I know who I can contact to help me move along. This is about connecting with people and sharing what I know to help us all keep our VW’s in the road. Have a great, safe week.
Redundancy is everybody's best friend. Stretch is definitely coming along well. An idea for the tube ends: maybe some custom wheel center caps will fit? It seems like something round should be there, even if it's just a slight Arc. There is something about watching welding done on a video that is attractive.😃
It’s definitely coming along, redundancy is important to me. Some may think it’s overkill but I’d rather only do this project once time. I’ll look to see what I have, I like the cap idea. Appreciate you greatly my friend.
Nice man! 100% right body takes the longest. Floor pans and chassis you can rip though in a weekend. Get you some Rust converter Ultra , that stuff works and will save you a ton of time treating the rusty areas in-between layers, and all the little nocks and cranny's after removing the heater channels.
I agree, the video scheduled worked out well this week.... I’m so tired of politics. She should be good and strong, I’d hate to redo this at a later date thus the extra work now.
I have a 73 thing chassis that I’m going to be fitting a 64 beetle baha body to. I’ve been thinking I’d like to extend the front end and 3x3s on rear. I’ve seen in other videos, people are using a kit to extend front beam. I like your DIY approach. There’s not a lot of content on RUclips for this altercation. I will probably be fabricating my own. Just trying to see more on proper bracing, because this will be an off road car.
@@VWJawbreaker I don’t proclaim to be a welder. But I know how to fabricate. I know when I have good penetration. As far as the cosmetics, that’s what a grinder is for .😁
Hy, weld like this, I think taht it don't move away !!! You have to check if yours bolts are strong enought, (In France we have bolts with different quality, there is the standart and the most ) See you soon for the next video. Kris
Ok, I kinda get it now, I think, or maybe I'm just an idiot, lol... so the new head and beam was added so you didn't have to cut and stretch the original chassis and head?
Outstanding brother!! Shes solid and strong!! Nice work and mods!!
How about... "Volksbreaker"!
Thanks is brother, I only want to so this once so I figured a little overkill was necessary.
I’m liking Volksbreaker
@@VWJawbreaker Nothing wrong with some over kill when doing this stuff brother. This build is very exciting!
Nice work on the beam extension 👍
Thanks!
Definitely taking notes on bracing, The Speedle deserves the support lol. Great video!
This one is overdone more than the last one I did with my buddy for the pan buggy... he beats the snot out of that one without issue.
That frame head is heavy duty lol.
Yes sir, it should hold up for the long haul!
Love to see it growing and growing
Thanks man, can’t wait to drive this beast!
Great work!!
Thanks!

Thank you Brian. Hope you have a great, safe week.
What a bad week.. Glad to see your upload lol
It’s definitely been a rough week for everyone. Hope this helps take their minds off of things for a few minutes.

Thanks for being here, have a great weekend.
As my daddy used to say “overkill is underrated “
I love that!
Great job enjoy

another great video! keep up the good work! hope to meet you this weekend at bug jam!

Randy now that’s a cool idea! I’m going to have to give that some serious thought.... definitely no COVID in there 😂😂
Looking great, can’t wait to see what You’re planning for the body, great channel, cool mix of knowledge and entertainment.

Good call, I have some stuff here but I’ll look into what you suggested!
Way to go, Gary. You swing a mean hammer. Looks like you had to really beat it to get the penetration you wanted. :-)

I make it work Moe.... whatever it takes!
Stay well my friend.
Cool, looks good, and sturdy...

Most of the bolts were for mock up purposes. When it went into final assembly, all bolts were upgraded to high strength.
solid welds
Not the prettiest but they do hold!
@@VWJawbreaker get that thing done for the zombie apocalypse :)
😂
@@VWJawbreaker a mohawk would be nice
Just watching for the first time. Do you think the extension beam would something made for the masses by empi or some other after-market companies?
Welcome to the channel and the madness 😂
There are companies out there that do make the beam extension. I’m aiming more for a diy approach.
Ok, I kinda get it now, I think, or maybe I'm just an idiot, lol... so the new head and beam was added so you didn't have to cut and stretch the original chassis and head?
Correct. Then if I want to remove it and put the beam back in the stock location I can without having to cut the front end back apart.
I am thinking what color should you paint it ?
You know, I haven’t a single clue. It’ll probably stay in primer if it goes to a single color. No clue how I want that to go yet.
Haha don't you hate when you turn the camera off!? Or the battery dies! Can be so frustrating when you're trying to do vids! It's looking awesome!
Thanks brother, it’ll take shape sooner or later lol
Feez plugs , caps
That would work 👍
I like the execution but not the idea . but thats just me
I’ve always appreciated your honesty.
