So I actually read the original Frankenstein novel and the movies are horribly inaccurate. First off, Victor Frankenstein never had an assistant. He never had a lab. He did the whole thing in his apartment upstairs of a bar or some kind of establishment like that while attending a university. Victor also grew gravely ill while contemplating his work of creating to the point of almost passing out and dying after bringing the monster to life. Because of this the “monster” (note: Victor never once calls him monster) ends up running away and getting lost. Eventually it learns to read and write while observing a foreigner learning English that was taking care of a blind man for a family. He eventually starts helping the family in secret and talks to the blind man. He reads the lab notes that were stored in the coat pocket of the monster along wit’s a copy of Dante’s Inferno. I should point out here that the monster is INCREDIBLY intelligent. Like inhuman levels of intelligence. Victor didn’t just make him extra strong. He made him extra smart. The monster slowly begins to feel a great rage towards Victor, and wants vengeance for being born. Eventually he finds one of the Frankenstein family. In a fit of blind rage he kills them. He then takes their pocket watch and slips it into the pocket of their sleeping neighbor so they’d get executed for the murder (which they did). Victor begins to wonder if the monsters creation wasn’t JUST a fever dream and eventually turns himself in for the murder claiming he is responsible since he created the monster. The jailer thinks that logic doesn’t really follow or make sense but obliges him. Eventually the monster starts killing other members of Frankensteins family. More time passes and this is where we get to the bride of Frankenstein part. See... Victor is about to be married. The monster confronts him and demands a mate. A bride of his. Victor agrees at first going to a remote island to do the work but nearing the completion of the monsters mate, he thinks hard about what he is doing. He realizes that if he is creation is this cunning, this strong, and this evil that it murderer several people it’s offspring would be far worse. To allow it to propagate would be the end of humanity. So he destroys the body. The monster responds in turn by killing Frankenstein‘s wife, the “bride” of Frankenstein. Frankenstein vows to chase the monster to the ends of the earth to kill it and hunt it down. The story ends with returning to the narrator, an elderly Frankenstein that a North Pole exploration vessel picked up nearly dead from frostbite. When asked how he created the monster he said he would take the secret to the grave, for nobody can know. The monster shows up after he dies and takes him to be buried in the arctic. It says that it has found remorse for its actions and will out the rest of its days in isolation. So um yeah the movies are total bullsh*t.

Mary Shelleys Frankenstein 1994 featuring Robert De niro is definitely the closest one to the book i know of.
This goes to show that the problems of modern movie adaptation has been around since the very beginning.
Dude even if some of the ones aren't accurate still that doesn't make them bad the 1930s version is a classic
