Finally we are going to Kanha National Park! We took an amazing Nagpur to Kanha Road trip in February 2020!
Join us for this eventful and fun road trip, as we show you the best route to take when you are taking a road trip from Nagpur to Kanha. Whether you are coming from Nagpur Airport or Nagpur Railway Station, or driving down from any of the Southern states, we highly recommend taking this route, as it has great roads, reliable fuel stations, highway plazas, and great options for meals along the way.
Nagpur is the gateway to Kanha National Park, and most probably you will arrive at Nagpur airport or Nagpur Railway Station on your way to Kanha National Park. There are several routes that Google Maps will suggest with almost similar arrival times. But some of these routes have poor mobile connectivity, some have no clean washrooms all along the way, some have no good and hygienic eating options on the way.

On my recent trip to Kanha I took the Pench forest route, right turn from Srinagar Kanyakumari highway through the forest and it took me almost 7 hours from Nagpur as I just had to make so many stops the scenery was so so beautiful! Even stopped at the same eatery you mentioned. Very neat and nicely maintained. Thank you for your help!

So pleased you took the road through Kamptee then onto Munser, some people use the new highway out of Nagpur, love going through Kamptee and the old Bridge. Going to Kanha years ago use to take me 7 hours, now its a good 5 hours, Enjoyed your video, ohhh little white houses was a village called Sereka.

Thank You we know Nagpur very well, especially Sitabuldi and Birdie, we spend time in our Home at Kanha almost every year, hence the knowledge of the roads you took, it has got quicker to drive to Kanha these days, years ago it use to take us around 7 hours, some roads were not good at those times.

Coffee House ambience was simple and peaceful.
Both the haults seemed to be good and much needed during any road trip.
I forgot to mention in the video, that the Indian Coffee House in Seoni is fully air-conditioned. I think with this opening of Indian Coffee House in Seoni, it has become the best place to stop for a break while travelling from Nagpur to Kanha, or even Nagpur to Jabalpur.

For this route (via Seoni), we started at 7.30 am, stopped at Seoni for 45 min, reached Kanha Earth Lodge resort at 2.15 pm.

I have to ask you - I don't live in Nagpur so how do I reach Kanha from Nagpur airport? Will all hotels offer a pick up/ drop service? Is May too hot? Would you suggest to go to Tadoba instead with family because of shorter distance from airport? Thanks!
First of all thank you so much for your wonderful words of appreciation! We are nature and history enthusiasts and I am glad to know you enjoyed knowing about the history of the places en-route Nagpur to Kanha.
I will highly recommend that you visit Kanha first. Kanha National Park is very unique, and the Sal tree jungle is to be seen to believe it. Almost all hotels can organize pickup and drop from Nagpur airport to Kanha. The only issue these days because of Covid could be that you will have to carry a negative RT-PCR certificate which may have to be shown at Maharashtra - Madhya Pradesh border.
Tadoba is beautiful in itself, and is primarily a teak forest. It takes about 3 hours to reach Tadoba from Nagpur airport by road, and about 5 hours to reach Kanha from Nagpur airport. But as you may have seen in my video, the road from Nagpur airport to Kanha is lovely, and you will not have any problems traveling with your family. All the best with your trip! We travelled from Nagpur to Kanha in February 2021. At that time there was no Covid checking. But yes, now as of 8th March, 2021, there is checking at all MP borders and you are allowed to enter MP only on producing a recent RT-PCR certificate. Otherwise you will be sent back. I hope this helps.

In most of Kanha, Khatia Gate side, as well as Mukki Gate side, Jio has good mobile network. Still 4G speeds are not as good as you get on the highway or the city, but it’s decent for WhatsApp and Emails.
Most good resorts provide free WiFi in common areas. Check with your resort before booking.
