In the beginning, and for a considerable period you may experience considerable pain and discomfort. The experienced meditators may look serene, but they have to work very hard to get to that stage. BTW: I think the spelling should be "Shwe" as in "Shwedagon" not "Shew."

Can't people listen to music outside of the meditation centre ? I thought the 8 precepts were for retreatants and monks.
