"Really good at-bats, seeing the ball well, he was just trying to do his job, not trying to do too much, blah blah blah." That's just how sports media is. You only happen to notice it more now because we're in the middle of a bad stretch and the interviews are more unpleasant.

Cashman is the problem. All he does is wait for the best free agents to come along, then he simply out bids other teams with less bank roll. With the exception of the Dodgers, nobody has more money than the New York Yankees. This should make Cashman's job a piece of cake, but he doesn't know how to build a team that's even capable of gelling, he just backs up the Brinks truck. This philosophy does not work any more in today's MLB. Just because you spend the most money, it doesn't mean you have the best team. You need to build a solid foundation through your farm system, then you can top off your roster at the trade dead line for the final push. Boone is weak as well. What did he ever do to deserve the job, other than hitting a HR in 2003 ? There's still plenty of time to rectify the current situation, if they want to, and have the success everyone has anticipated.
Soto will not be signing with this losing team come next year. Who in their right mind would! Yanks are done. They don't even make the wildcard cut. You heard it here first.

this has nothing to do with boone it all has to do with cashman. he has no clue about pitching. yankees have produced zero starters since petit. no one who lasted 5 years. cashman bullpens are always terrible in the playoffs. look at game 1 and 3 what did the relievers do all home runs to lose the game. they cannot pitch under pressure. the bullpen is always terrible in the playoffs ie chapman. gil pitched great when the pressure is on home run, same for weaver and the terrible mets pickup Tonkin. all chapman puts in the bullpen is broken down pitchers. the offense is all eyewash they just try hitting home runs when the team falls behind. A great yankees bullpen blows 2 games and gives up homeruns. game 1 red sox relievers finish the game in the 9th and 10th total 11 pitches. holmes 30 pitches to blow the game. game 3 every pitcher gives up a homerun with an offense that could barely hit the ball hard. yankees need an organisational clean out. get rid of all the coaches and scouts in the minors and start over.
