Haven’t used my Hohem gimbal much this past year, but started to again a few days ago. Had forgotten that you have to connect the Bluetooth first for the gimbal to activate properly, if you don’t your larger mobile phones will just dangle and flop. Hope this makes sense. Well worth the money, love all the filters as are shown in this video.

pause and think about how the *change filter* thing is actually in fact how many people see all types of images with different kinds of shadings and tones this is why someone can see gray and brown on a blue and yellow shirt for instance. it's amazing we need to take a step back and appreciate the fact that those *filters* were made for a reason and a good one, so one can perceive how the other has seen it. it's just lovely.
This was a pretty good review. Better than a lot I see. What’s with the wobbling on your videos? Is it your camera, or the gimbal? The stabilization also doesn’t look very smooth while you were walking. Is this a settings issue, or the 3 axis stabilization isn’t that good? Also, would love to see a sample of the timelapse features. Its what I’m most interested in with this product. Is this capable of doing a panoramic timelapse?
Hi - Thanks for the comment. The wobble was actually me trying to fight the VERY heavy winds that day. I didn't realise it was going to be so windy that it was blowing my gimbal, and I was forcing to hold it as steady as possible. But on a clear day, it would be 5x smoother. I don't have the gimbal anymore so I can't test the timelapse, but you can see the 6 different timelapse modes that are possible using the new hohem app: store.hohem.com/en-gb/products/mobile-plus
I've got this myself and it even works with my Samsung Galaxy Note10+ Would like you to demonstrate the modes in a more informative way...all you did was literally pan from left to right, the different modes really come in to their own in different ways when also panning up and down....well done though, good video!
I loved the video. It helped with the various modes. I'm so new at this. I wish you'd included mounting the phone, etc. You skipped a crucial step to see. The instructions say to mount b4 turning on the power. I need help..doesnt it need to be balanced first b4 using?
Apologies! Its pretty straight forward. Mount your phone to the gimbal, and then just hold it in the position you would expect it to be once turned on, then power it on, and it will auto balance and stabilize it for you.
Great video. Question if you want to shoot with the wide lens view does the part of the gimbal appear in the frame. I know some gimbals have this issue so it kinda limits you to record footage only without wide lens.

What video quality settings (&/or what screen/monitor) were you using to come to your conclusion about the stabilization results when u watched? The only really noticeable aberrations that I could see (1080p @60fps) in the sample footage seemed to be caused by the camera’s auto-focus struggling to keep the edges sharp in a dynamically changing image.
Hello, how are you? I want to see if you can help me. I have Gimbal Hohem iSteady Mobile, it is not arming (Stabilizing) I press the On / Off button it turns on the front green light and already goes out. Have you seen anything like that? I tried to calibrate and it didn't work.
Got one 3 weeks ago, found out that engines were making noise and couldnt calibrate device. Return it back to Amazon, ordered another one, came yesterday and 3rd function ( All lock ) doenst lock the phone. Imagine when you expect 3 weeks to received a good Hohem iSteady Plus and even 2nd device not working good. All other functions works perfect. I am gonna test it 2 3 days more then if issue persist will return it back. Now I am thinking if I should buy Osmo 4 or order again ISteady+ the 3rd one to see how many can be faulty?
We apologize if this question has been asked, but have you had any trouble with the app saving videos? We used it for the first time but had a 15 min video disappear. Shorter videos saved, but it didn’t save the 15 min video. It said saving in progress but did not save. Just gone. Could’ve been full storage but we weren’t sure. Thanks for any feedback. Thank you! The jarring parts were infact because of VERY strong wind! I probably picked the wrong day to do it, so the gimbal was fighting the wind and my grip haha. Overall, still impressed!

Thanks! Unfortunately the zoom speed is not customisable. You're just going to need super steady fingers to control the Zoom button at a nice and slow pace!

I learned a great deal from your video and that helped me decide on the DJI instead of the HOHEM. very helpful video, my boss just gave me one of these and it didn’t come with a manual, I already had a gimbal I loved but it was for my old iPhone 8 and couldn’t hold my new iPhone 12 Pro max, Despite already having some camera apps I paid for.. I’m definitely going to install the app made for this gimbal It has some pretty good features built in Can’t believe it’s free!

Thank you for the comment! Before you start searching for the gimbal on the app - is there an option for you to update the firmware somewhere on the app? The first time you open the gimbal app, you should also select to allow all permissions, and in case you didn't, it might just keep searching and not connect - in which case you can try delete the app and download again?
They (Hohem) do recommend not to turn it on without the phone mounted on it, though, in order not to damage the motor.... I do have this gimbal (got it last month) and it was not only my very first one (and first time I use one), but also a gift to myself. 🙂 And my favorite options are 3 and 4. lol For it category, it is to my eyes a great gimbal. Thank you for the video, and do you mind sharing where you get your music from? That was a lovely song that played in background. 💖🦋

After using both, my favourite is the iSteady X. The app is easier to use, gimbal, is super quick to setup and super light. The Mobile Plus has more features, but I just want basic pan stabilized footage so the X is good enough for me!
This was a badass review. I loved you went through the different modes. Would have loved to see the other tricky features like inception, or the panorama 360. Grest music too
Good question - you wont be able to use the buttons on the gimbal to control the default camera app, however, if you just use the buttons on your phone for the camera app, then just turn the gimbal on, you can get smooth footage that way.

I would recommend turning off the phone's stabilization. When its enabled while using a gimbal it can cause warping in the image
Sadly this is not possible on iPhone.

I took mine out for the first time yesterday and there was so much “shaking” or wobbling. I don’t know how to fix.

I see it too in this sample video, it seems the stabilization is no better than some software stabilization. I'm kind of dissapointed.

Mobile Plus has lots more features, but iSteady X is more compact and simple. Depends on what you're looking for.
