I would really like to see a video on how to use these watches for navigation out on the moor as I am quite keen on getting one for this purpose. Any chance of you doing one please?
Bardzo dobra recenzja podejmuje omówienie konkretnych funkcji w treningu . Większość recenzji zegarków tylko o nich wspomina a adla osób biegających konkretne funkcje maja znaczenie a nie np wygla paska. bardzo dobry film. Pozdrawiam
I'm pretty interested in the Race S. I have a Garmin Forerunner 165 and the main thing I'm worried about missing is Garmin's Daily Suggested Workouts. You mentioned Suunto will create structured workouts based on the data is has collected. If I want a training plan, will it automatically update the structured workout based on my progress, or will I have to make a new structured workout later to get another workout based on my progress? Thanks! Great video.
Thanks for the kind words! The Suunto Race S offers a slightly different approach compared to Garmin’s Daily Suggested Workouts. While it does create structured workouts and training plans based on your fitness data, it doesn’t dynamically adjust the next day’s workout in the same way Garmin does. However, Suunto’s adaptive training plans do monitor your progress and adjust over time, especially if you’re following a specific goal (e.g., improving endurance or speed). If your performance improves or you fall behind, it will tweak the plan accordingly.
Is the suunto race and race s compatible with other 3rd party heart rate strap monitor? I'm using Polar H10 heart rate monitor and considering getting the suunto watch.
Yes, the Suunto Race and Race S are compatible with third-party heart rate monitors, including the Polar H10. Both devices use Bluetooth technology for pairing, which allows them to work seamlessly together. However, it's worth noting that while the Polar H10 is an excellent option due to its accuracy and reliability, it won't support Suunto's memory functionality for syncing heart rate data post-activity, a feature specific to Suunto's own heart rate straps
I consider the Sunnto races or the Amazfit t rex 3. How is the weightlifting training in Suunto races. Is it detailed or only show time, heart rate and calories ?
The Suunto Race offers a decent level of detail for weightlifting training. It tracks metrics such as heart rate (average and max), calories burned, and recovery indicators like Training Stress Score (TSS), Peak Training Effect (PTE), and Excess Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC). However, it doesn't include highly specific strength-training features like automatic rep counting or exercise recognition, which some watches provide
Its definitely something to consider and as mentioned in the video probably the leading factor to consider. I have just been onto our shop floor and found someone with a 16cm wrist and the Race slightly overlaps the sides of their wrist. I think it would eb worth coming to store or another supplier and trying it on for yourself!
@@tauntonleisure fair!! Sadly no physical store have them where I am, I might have to go with the Race S (which is a shame as i really would've loved the bigger screen and much better battery life)
Yeah, a few of us from the company were fortunate to try out some loaners on a recent trek in Iceland and during the Welsh 3000s. We were really impressed, especially with the navigation features and the screen quality.
@@tauntonleisure Nice! I think I'll try the S. I kinda like a smaller form factor. The 9 (in Ti) is a beauty and in GPS mode almost the same battery as the S. And you get the maps. Screen is less durable but hey, you can't have it all
@@Stevenwalks I think anything to do with the outdoors in a game of compromises like you said you cant have it all. But the Race S seems to tick all the major boxes and in a convenient form factor!

A big thank you for this review

@@tauntonleisure Super helpful - thanks!
HI Does the race have a slope calculation function? If I do hill repeats, does it tell me the gradient of the climb I'm about to run?

I'm really drawn to the Race, especially the titanium version! I have thin wrists though (15.5cm) I'm worried it'd look too big 😓.
