I lost my grandfather and 2 uncles here. I live in Lancashire. We remember their names. 2nd world war claimed my father and 3 uncles....my father`s brothers were 16, 18 and 19. War impacts on every human being and yet leaders are still inflicting them on the world. I am old and I don`t expect to see peace in my lifetime. I can only hope my great grandchildren will witness world peace. Your reaction shows great respect and humanity. Thank You/
Burnley lad here (a town in Lancashire as mentioned in the video for those who don’t know), practically every northern town (my own included) was absolutely destroyed, an entire generation of men lost in the trenches, absolutely insane to think of. I lost 2 of my relatives on the first day of the Somme too. Need to do some more research but I’ve got a relative who works for the CWGC who’s done most of it for us
Lancashire here (Accrington) both great grandfathers were at the somme one died the other wounded, losing his left eye very emotional song but a fantastic tribute least we forget.
As people have mentioned, this is a cover of a Motörhead song. The two guys standing at the door opening at 6:54 are Mikkey Dee and Phil Campbell, the drummer and the guitarist of Motörhead. The picture at 7:00 is of Lemmy Kilmister who was the bassist and singer of Motörhead, the guy holding it is Eddie Rocha who was the tour manager for Motörhead and the current one for Sabaton.
I feel for you, this is a heartbreaking song, and I was a complete mess the first dozen times I saw it. It still hits me like a ton of bricks. Next video you should watch is No bullets fly, the animated version. I can guarantee that you love it!
the one commenter i saw say in another reaction to this song, said he talked to a survivor of this battle/war who said he saw this happen. there was a soldier who fell next to him who did that and he can remember his screams slowly get quieter and quiter, calling for his mother the entire time, until he eventually just stopped and he died from his injuries. it was something the poor guy never could forget and was forever burned into his memory.
Thank you for the dignified response to this sad masterpiece. I can't watch 'Christmas Truth' and '1916' without crying, both because of the beauty of the music and the horror of war. If you want to regain some trust in humanity after this, listen to 'No Bullets Fly.' This piece will also make you cry, but this time it's because of the beauty of humanity
No bullets fly is certainly heartwarming. Another is Balld of Bull, giving deserved praise for the soldier that carried 18 wounded to safety through a virtual barrage of enemy fire sent his way.
Thank you for watching!! Oh yes, No Bullets Fly was so heartwarming and emotional! I received a comment thanking me for my reaction on this video about her father Ms Stiegel! I told he I was so honored!!
