      @@fugnut9938 hard to explain but i breathe in but tense up my throat not letting the air go down my lungs and use my tongue to regulate the pitch for the clicking sound. So basically breathe in but force yourself to stop the air to go in, might sound like a heavy smoker first but once you hear the clicks you'll know what to do

    Amazing work, if they would use the clicker sounds you made in the actual series theý´d be absolutely believable, well done.

    I like how you broke down all the different aspects of the clicker sound. I made a clicker mask and did a little sound with it, but I wish I'd seen this first.

    This looks easy enough. Great explanation! I'm using this for a small project for college and it will be the first time I use things like EQ. I'm a total beginner in the whole sound editing thing but I think this will really help. Thanks!

      @@rarefindssound I did it! It sounds a little bit weird but when presenting it to class everyone liked it and the professor was impressed I think.
      It was the second time I worked with filters and effects and it was on a very basic level but I really enjoyed doing it. I kind of did some things my very inexperienced way because we use a different software so there were things I didn't know how they work there.
      But overall it as fun! Sound is not really my area of interest but I might come back to the channel if I get to do other things like this.

    One element people seem to forget are the tongue flaps/movements as a part of the individual click. Interesting nobody gets this bit.

    • @soundspace7467

      @@rarefindssound it’s more of a tongue “pop” that sounds wet and fleshy and gross. And adds a little more of a gross mouth element to the overall design.

    Am I going insane? I can make those throat clicks on command without having to move my mouth at all, i've been trying to look it up but all i can find are people saying things about unwanted throat clicks or uncontrollable throat clicks or throat cancer or some other health issues. Is throat click not the right term?

      I think I do recall watching an interview where the sound designers talk about making sounds themselves with their mouths and blending it with other animal sounds like pigs etc

    • @soundspace7467
      @soundspace7467 Год назад +1

      @@rarefindssoundthere’s only 1 animal sound used in the original game and it’s for a transition animation in which a black lab growl was used. A LOT of the frothy animal type vocal is a recording of bubbling dry ice mixed with human “monster” vocalizations. Neither have been mentioned in interviews though that’s what was done.

    • @rarefindssound
      @rarefindssound  Год назад +1

      Nice one, cheers for the insight Sound Space 74! Dry ice recordings can go a long way. All sorts of cool sounds have been made from them

    • @soundspace7467
      @soundspace7467 Год назад

      @@rarefindssound if you listen to the original dry ice recording you wouldn’t know what it was. It was essentially gaseous bubbling that when slowed down sounds like talking. This was mixed with some very similarly wet sounding human vocals. You can really hear this sort of washy sort of frothy sound when the clickers recognize or are alerted that you’re near.
