Important info: We paid $75 USD per person for a 6-7 hour safari that included the entrance ticket, jeep and some fruit. I recommend other parks like Udawalwe (elephants), Wilpattu (leopards) or many other smaller parks that are cheaper and more manageable - you can see more in these smaller parks, in less time - for less money.
Mate, this is absolutely beautiful. Nice video. Hope you enjoyed the drive. Unfortunately though, I guess you got ripped off there. When do safari in Yala, you both could have done a full day, also leopard trail focused safari for like total you paid there, $150-200 (for a pack of two). Yala has many areas, and there are Rangers who’s been living inside the jungle. They start the safari around 4am and goes full day with lunch and sometimes dinner inside the jungle, depending on the weather at night. When you start at 4am there’s no body, you simple park the vehicle and wait for the leopards to come out for water or with prey. The Rangers knows the timings so you will definitely get to see the leopards. They have named them. They start the safari inside the jungle and focused on the leopards, birds, bears, and other animals and this is ideal for wildlife photographers and videographers. If you go through the entrance after 6am, there’s no use as all the animals runs back inside when these people rev their jeep engines. Key is to get the most of a safari in Sri Lanka is get it from inside the jungle. There are many places, if you browse around that offers this. Do not use the services offered by locals on those areas, they all keep a cut. Let us know in advance your next adventure so some of us might be able to give some hints, heads ups. Anyways at the end of the day what matters is that you had fun init? So here’s to you both 🍻, hope you two had a wonderful time there.
@@DevindaSameeraKandumulla First of all - I really appreciate your comments on all the videos so much 🙏🏼 Definitely would have been great to consult and know this beforehand - you're talking about sleeping the night before in the safari I guess and starting really early.. We tried to arrive early as possible but unfortunately - so did 8 other jeeps and like you said.. The engine revs and the leopards run. If you want send a message on IG @jonstnr and we can have a chat I would be glad 🙏🏼
@jonstnr Sure mate, will do. And yes, so there are number of places inside the jungle, that you could stay and start the safari. Yala is huge, and it takes an entire day to cover at least a good portion, and there are number of hidden routes inside. YF 46 Jane and YM 27 Michael are the two leopards that mostly out in the day.
Yala National Park. It is very beautiful. There are beautiful animals. You must have seen many things. And you must have had a lot of fun. Love you both. ❤️
Great video, you got to see a ton of animals and some exotic birds, loved the clip of the monkey jumping up and down on the tree!!! What camera and lens did you get the close ups of the bird with? Keep on vlogging and have an awesome time! 💜💜💜
@@ErikSteiner Hello my dear Abale!! The camera is the Fuji XT-30 and the lens Fuji 55-200mm with Optical Stabilization (OIS) ❤️ It's a very budget combo compared to Sony!
