This is my favorite mission. I still play this. If anybody wanted to know how to beat this game. Here it is. 1. As soon as you get control after the later says "you have dolphins to your control" control + click you mouse at the top of the squid tentacles and have the dolphins kill the squid. Don't let the squid sink the cruise ship. 2. Make another barracks put it closer to the refinery to the south. Produce a bunch of soldiers (12) put them infront of the beach beach to stop the attack from the south. And also make prism tower to help with enemies. 3. Build a barracks by the refinery to the west across the ocean and make some soldiers and defend the refinery. At all cost. 4. on your main base use the barracks and make 2 seals to defend from the dreadknots, shooting your building down. You have to keep looking and then send the seal in the water to destroy them. 5. Make some rocketeers to go over the building to the west that they have troops garrisoned in. 4 or 5 will destroy the building and all the troops so you can get product easily. 6 Make some soldiers so you can defend the bridge right infront of your base to stop tanks are anything else from coming forward. 10 troops will stop apocalypse tanks, spiders and any troops. Once the level up they are dangerous. Also stick some prism towers next to your base and troops right next to your base to stop people who came past the defense. 7. Build a tank factory and battle lab. You are going to need more trucks to mine for gold. 8. By then the guy will come on "this goes out to the hidden commander" and the nuke time starts. 9. After the battle lab is built, build hover crafts like 3 or 4, then dolhpins like 10 or 12, then air craft careers like 6, and 8 prism tanks and 8 mirage tanks 10 Build a spy satelite take your fleet of with all the tanks in the hover crafts and put them on the north west tip of their base with mirage tanks infront of prism tanks. If they launch a scud always mover you navy they will destroy it. Always keep dolphins in front your navy to ward off any squids. One the mirage tanks are in front of the prism tanks on the tip of their base in the north west, just go at it anything coming forward will be destroyed by the mirage tanks while the prism tanks attack, eventually you get to their base and win. edit: you can also if you hard up for money take some spies and take them down in a chopper to the east side of their base drop spies off and avoid ships that shoot the chopper down. Disguise them buy clicking on their troops and the spy and watch up for the dogs an go in their refinery. You can also go in the nukes and reset them if you have the balls to.

This mission was indeed hard. I used spies to produce veteran units FTW. Those Soviet nuclear power plants were obvious weak spots asking to be smashed. Didn't use many Navy units. Harriers are crap, so I'm won't bother building them. Mirage tanks are almost a must to make this mission easier
Jebus Christ this mission is hard in easy difficulty! What you should've done: sell the refineries on the north and south, blow up the bridges with SEALs, garrison the hotels on the east, build a shit ton of destroyers and dolphins, use SEALs to take out the dreadnoughts.
I just sold the refinery to the north and kept the one in the south and have Seals guard it with pillboxes and prism towers and rushed the oil refinery to the northwest for additional income. APMs gotta be on point. It took me many tries to figure it out lol
On medium I kept both of them and added pillboxes and GIs with a prism tower. I put ifvs all around my base to protect from airborne threats. Also took over the oil derricks to the north west. Helps lots!

My way of beating this mission on Hard was to build a few IFVs instead of Patriots to shoot down Dreadnought missiles, blow up the northern bridge and have a couple Rocketeers prevent the Soviets from repairing it by sniping the engineers during their paradrop already. Also, I decided to forfeit the refinery in the north in the favor of the south one, by amassing GIs there and building 2 prism towers behind the refinery. Also, harriers are a poor investment in this game in general, since they can't even sink a Dreadnought in one run. Once the Chronosphere is up, I'd shift an MCV over with a few Mirage tanks, deploy a factory south-east of the Soviet base and sell the second ConYard. Then I can base-crawl with power plants and Prism towers towards the Soviet base and snipe Tesla coils with Prism tanks.
@@zherean42069 I believe force-firing on the repair hut with a Navy Seal selected should do it. Can't double-check that now, installing RA2 on Windows 10 is major hoop-jumping.
In all fairness I think there's cheating going on here. The Nuke is weak but not that weak. I played this level recently and you can't chrono that many units.

I understand from reading a smidgen about C&C modding that a lot of weapon strengths and stuff are defined in data files and individual levels can override them. IIRC, some official levels make e.g. Tanya have more hitpoints for balance reasons, so I perhaps this level nerfs the nuclear weapons for balance reasons?
I know this is 4 years late but I just recently started playing this regularly again. Was the only game I played as a kid and let me say, when I play this mission on medium is 12 drednaughts right away coming to me, 10 squid and 50 tanks hitting all my refineries at and chronominers all at once. Seems like by the time I’m able to even start building things I’m already swarmed by a SHIT TON of enemies. And that’s on medium. Jesus I hate/love this mission.
Go to your game folder > Search for "RA2md.ini" file and edit the "Video" options like that: [Video] VideoBackBuffer=no ScreenWidth=1440 ScreenHeight=900 StretchMovies=no *If you dont have the line "VideoBackBuffer=no", just add it for a smoother game. *If you have Yuri's Revenge expansion, do the same with "RA2.ini" file.
I just use a seal to blow up the bridges then build some patriots to def against dread missiles while my tanks kill the dread, i sell both ore refineries before they are destroyed and just amass 4-6 mirages+6 prism tanks + one repair ifv and start chronoing them. Always build the war factory off to the side and sell it when nuke is launched. Also have it ready built to deploy it immediately after nuke :)
If the mission is too hard blow up the bridge on the right to stop tanks from coming over. Build some IFVs for air defense. When the base is stable build a tech lab and lots of mirage tanks.
Sorry i cant explain in english because i dont have the level for so you need to translate this following sentences: Je me suis amusé a faire cette mission un nombre important de fois et je peux affirmer que cette tentative n'est pas si bien que ça. Si quelqu'un voulait s'inspirer de cette partie pour tenter a son tour de reussir la mission, il se compliquerait la vie. Premièrement, les premières minutes sont relativement intenses car elles nécessitent de ne pas perdre de temps et de bien hiérarchisé les etapes. Je n'ai pas vu si vous avez sauvé les raffineries du nord et du sud ni même si vous avez récupéré les derricks de l ouest (je n ai fait que survolé la vidéo et j en suis rendu a 5:45), voila comment je procède. 1 j envois tous mes GI dans l hotel sauf 4 sue j'envoie au phare. En parallèle je construit 4 bunker qui iront defendre la raffinerie nord. En parallèle je rush les seals afin d en avoir au moins 2 dont un qui ira soutenir les Gi du phare ( il élimine rapidement les conscrits, ce qui permet de reduire leurs puissance de feu et permet d'attaquer plus rapidement le rhino) le 1er seal va detruire le pont et tout de suite attendre les bateaux russe au sud. Dès que le 4 ème bunker est construit je lance la production de 3 tours prisme pour soutenir au nord ( la force russe est tres importante au nord au debut, apres ca se calme et ca devient bien plus gérable) Au sud j ai besoin de deux tours prism mais le timing fait qu'elles sont pas tout de suite prioritaire mais faut pas traîner. A ce moment la vous etes sensé avoir encaissé l attaque initial du nord et le premier assauts du sud, et les cuirassés amiraux ont deja tenté leurs bombardements côté. Cest a ce moment là qu'il faut préparer la seconde phase, qui consiste a envoyer des soldats roquettes a l Est pour éponger l opération speciale des ingénieurs. Mais aussi envoyer une certaine quantités de soldats Roquettes pour éponger a l Ouest les parachutistes et sécurisé les Derricks. En general c'est également le moment où les V3 arrivent au sud et vous vous devez d avoir des patriots pour les contrer. En général ils ont detruit le phare, ce qui vous alerte verbalement et vous permet d'aller les éliminer avec vos GI. Ceci fait le plus dur est fait. Normalement l apparition des bombes nucléaires ne devrait pas tarder a ce moment là mais vous avez les bases pour une économie assez solides pour aller detruire les deux réacteurs nucléaires avec vos harrier. C'est pourquoi quand vous arrivez au V3, je vous conseil de deja préparer vos escadrille. Bon a partir de là vous etes intouchable et assez compétent pour finir la mission. Personnellement ce que j'aime avec cette mission, cest la tension du debut, mais une fois ce laps de temps écoulé, ca devient un peu trop simple ^^

If ever I get up to that point in the campaign (replaying both RA2 and YR since yesterday) and just keep spamming Seals and GIs. The nuke will be a problem though, I dont know what I'd do.

I found this level hard and annoying on medium, The enemy are savage on hard difficultly. I love RA2, my childhood rts.

You coud use seals to destroy dreadnought or the bridge then you have it a lttle easyer

what i usually do is destroy the nuclear reactors.. it stops the countdown and less defenses to mind if i were to attack the soviet base
