    I used to own the sky raider factory a few years back and if you need parts for it there’s a guy in Oregon that bought the factory from me that I believe is producing parts and I think he was building a different size fuselage for them also.

      Yes I sold it to Al I haven’t talked to him for a bit but the last time he was replacing the HKS natural I had put in my plane that went with it with a turbo version.

    I like the idea of matting a larger tail wheel as the required center of balanced weight add on to the tail that is two birds with one stone perfect

    • @Down_To_The_Bone_Garage

      Exactly. The additional weight of the new tailwheel and stinger helped out quite well.

I'm all thumbs! 10 thumbs up!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Any chance you pulled a length from firewall back too the end of the tail? No rush, just checking. Really appreciate the update! @@Down_To_The_Bone_Garage Blew my mind you pulled this off with that weather moving in! Don't worry about updates in the future to chance the weather for us, we can all wait! Nearest I can tell the model one and model 2 are the same length (17') with the model ll being 27' wide. Model l is 24" wide cabin. There is also the Super Sky Raider Best to my knowledge 30" wide cabin and 18" long, I am trying to verify this. Thanks for your expertise and dedication! Brian

    Great to see another Phazer take flight. Looks like you did a really clean engine install too. Over a year ago I was in contact with both Ben and Ian (wish he would do a update on his Phazer project) I have a pusher Rans project and will going with the Phazer. Are you using like the stock Yamaha fuel pump or something else? Also with the C box ratios of 2.62 3.00 and 3.47, how did you figure out your ratio to use with prop dia. And pitch? Stuff like that... thanks Ed from Colorado.

    • @Down_To_The_Bone_Garage
      @Down_To_The_Bone_Garage  5 месяцев назад

      You can contact any Propeller dealer. You can give them your specifications like horsepower, rpm, gearbox rpm etc... and they'll give you the best Propeller to use on your application. You also need to tell them if you want good take off performance or if you want good cruise or a mix of both. Pitching your Propeller would be to your gearbox rpm and max prop rotation rpm. My prop rpm is 2,800. So I have it pitched just under at max set rpm in the air. The prop unloads roughly another 1,000 rpm in the air.

      Thanks for the quick reply, all this info is good to know. My current issue is finding someone who could weld up the engine mount for this pusher. I’m not a welder, much less doing something like with chrome moly. Very similar footprint like Bens Kolb. Glad I found your Channel, will stay subscribed. Regards,,, Ed@@Down_To_The_Bone_Garage

    I am curious now about your SwitchPro ... Does that also mean you excluded any solenoids, for the main switch and the starter? All of your power runs thru the one system like a mini VP-X but less expensive?

    • @Down_To_The_Bone_Garage
      @Down_To_The_Bone_Garage  5 месяцев назад

      No solenoids at all. Everything is contained in the switch pro. I do have a firewall mounted solenoids for the starter, and that's it. One master switch for all the electronics and the switch pro controls everything after the master switch has been set to the on position.

    I am worried about your tie-downs! I bought an airplane from Grand Junction, Colorado and the airplanes were chained down! With the flaps down it is in the takeoff position! It has been my experience that small blocks only make a mess of the wings as they land with the plane upside down! PLEASE, secure your lovely Skyraider 2 with anchors that can handle at least 1000 lbs. each! Best
