- A quick demo flight of my Sig Four Star 40. She's old, raggedy, and covered in patches, but a good plane for all-around daily sport flying. Powered by a Saito .56 Black Knight 4-stroke engine. This plane was built from a Sig kit and I'm the 3rd or 4th owner. It was originally electric powered but I converted it to 4-stroke glow. It's one of my most regular flyers. Four Stars are just great model airplanes to have in your fleet!

NITRO!! yes. Capt. Blaz would approve.👍
That is a very nice flier and you make it look easy , sounds good too love the 4 stroke sound ! Thanks , getback
Thanks! That was almost 4yrs ago but I still have that old beater. 😀
Nice Bird, cool Motor sound and a well Trained Pilot..nice flying
Thanks!
That little 56 hauls it around pretty good. Glad to hear you call it a glow engine. I completely fail to understand how our glow engines came to be called "nitro". I mean when you're running a maximum of 15% how is that "nitro"??? Most of my glow engines run just fine with no nitro.
True. The whole nitro engine thing seems to be a result of marketing RC cars to young folks for many years. The magazine covers and ads were full of “nitro” references. I’ve been inactive in the RC hobby for a few years due to life getting very busy but I still have all my planes and gear, including the 4Star 40. It eas one of my main “daily beaters”. Looking forward to having time to start playing with airplanes again.
@@TeeBeeZee Good for you. I've been building and flying over 50 years now. Currently enjoying and number of lovely sport planes in the 60 to 80 inch range . All time favorite is an AstroHog with a K&B .61 two smoker.
Can beat that saito. JR
what pitch prop in this video?
I think it has an APC 12x6 on it.
