    I was thinking of buying the M2R pro cause there is a flash sale right now and its $78, but I own the HL-X and it doesn't really look much better to me. Think ill stick with my Streamlight.

    • @Kchosk
      @Kchosk 2 года назад +2

      This is a pretty rigged review olight will only be that bright for a minute or two and then it dims down. It would be extremely hot and the battery wouldn’t last for along time if it didn’t.

    • @ARluvr1
      @ARluvr1 Год назад

      That’s not an upgrade. The candela is much less on the olight. For a tactical light it’s a serious downgrade.

  • @Gieszkanne
    @Gieszkanne 2 года назад +2

    The Olight M2R Pro gets cooking hot in turbo after 1 minute. Also after the battery is just at 70-80% you only get into high with 700l.

    Went with the 2lx because im tired of the small side button that i can never seem to find in the dark. I want three modes. High, strobe and low in that order and all activated from the tail cap. I already have too many flashlights but this one is for my defensive purposes at night.

  • @onedirection3510
    @onedirection3510 3 года назад +5

    I prefer the beam pattern on the Olight but the HLX gets about 1.5 hours of runtime at 1K lumens. The Olight outs out 1800 but only for a couple minutes.
    Streamlight also takes 2x cr123’s which is a huge advantage and peace of mind if away from a charger.
    I definitely appreciate the lower settings on Olight but as you stated that’s not really the main purpose of any of these lights.
    Grrrrr...love that Olight brightness but the HLX seems more practical and perhaps durable.
    I wish you’d compare the medium 400/500 ish lumens settings.

    • @subaruforester5062
      @subaruforester5062 2 года назад +1

      The streamlight will start dimming like tue olight from turbo. Olight tells you when the light steps down. Streamlight doesn't. Your not getting the 1k lumens for 1.5 hours they are fooling you. All lights step down after turbo for a few minutes. Some companies are open about telling people and some arnt (streamlight)

    Both are made in China. Despite beam style or light output, streamlight takes the prize with reliability which is what really counts. Who cares how brite it is if it won’t turn on! For what it’s worth my department regulates the lights you can use, o light has been banned for reliability issues.. primarily on weapons lights but seen across the board. Streamlight has had their issues too but far fewer, and with much better support! In terms of quality between streamlight and o light, streamlight wins I’ve seen it first hand! You want the Best Buy surefire!

    I have the hlx and I don't carry it at work due to the wide lens. I pulled it out of my pocket after about 3 months, and the lens had cracked. I got it repaired for free but had to pay shipping. Not sure how I broke it, I don't remember dropping it immediately before. I now carry a cheap ass (but well made) convoy s2+ with sst40 led. I’ve heard the same thing about olight, I have a stream light side winder head lamp and it seems to be not overly powerful but more than enough for it’s intended use which should make it long lasting and it really does seem to be high quality so probably will pick something like one of these hand helds from streamline as well.

    After only 2 months my warrior x pro failed and chloe at customer service refused to help.I'm out 200 dollars cuz I bought the pressure switch too but I'm glad I had this failure now rather than in a fight since this light was on my go to rifle. I switched back to my 10 year old sure fire that still rocks like a champ but stuck having to replace all my lights on my weapons being I was a huge olight fan and put them on all my rifles and pistols. Olight is not battle ready gear and if u can't trust your gear u already lost the fight so use at your own risk. Me personally I'm tired of seeing people get screwed by companies I'm a little mad at olight, they didn't even try to help even after I asked about paying them to repair it so I could at least use it around the house or camping instead of having a 200 dollar paperweight. I just can't throw it away it's still brand new and the cheap skate in me won't let me. Maybe I can find someone who can put better internals in than what olight used either way shame on you olight!

    • @transtubular
      @transtubular 3 года назад +2

      Yes, I am going to suggest that you broke your Olight, rather than it failed. Nothing is indestructible no matter how much money you throw at it. I could easily find a way to break your $700 Surefire light and I doubt Surefire would just send you a replacement...they might though, just to keep up the image. I own several Olights and haven't had a failure yet, going on eight years. I didn't know about Olight ten years ago otherwise I would have bought one then. Flashlights aren't meant to be used as hammers, entry tools, pry bars or rock breakers any more than your firearm is....so stop using it like that.

      Olight failed me too bro. I have a m2r pro a seeker 2 pro a warrior pro and a oded along with several baton 2 and a baton 3. I like there small lights but the oden and the seeker 2 failed me on duty. I will go back to surefire for duty and leave olight baton to backup and edc. The lights had battery failures and charging issues also the seeker 2 just stopped working. I take good care of my gear they weren’t abused I use them as intended. Should have never left surefire. Pay a bit more get something that will last you for years. Olight is not ready yet for the duty life.

  • @wb5mgr
    @wb5mgr 3 года назад

    IMO the streamlight HL-X had the better optic and quality of light. Olight can only maintain that turbo for a few min anyway then they drop off. And they have to focus they’re like really tight because of the small reflector and also because they’re trying to get their numbers up on how many lumens.
    Stream light focuses on beam pattern and having a lot of Candela out there at the end of the Beam where it counts. And the price is right at around 65 bucks for that light.
