I love Airachnid's design and her hovercopter mode even more. Those blade legs and hidden eyes are iconic. Literally obsessed I'm begging for her deluxe toy figure.
She is one of the best female representation we got in Transformers movies who by the way belongs to the evil side. Airachnid is that kind of rare jewel.
I loved her design and characterization but I thought the hidden eyes were kinda stupid to be honest. It felt extremely gimmicky and seems like outside of that scene it wouldn't really serve much purpose.

In her defense or maybe to the graphic crew's they wanted to amp up the horror Airachnid entails that was missing from her overall appearance. I desperately *NEED* an art book dedicated to the art direction and designs of the characters and setting of the movie as I absolutely loved the designs of the Transformers, the underground City of Iacon, The Quintessons and the fantastic design of Cybertron, its wildlife and its worldbuilding. I swear the art department put their heart and soul into capturing Cybertron's beauty and giving a sense of understanding to the planet's scope and environment in a way we've never seen. There are so many great ideas that would really help inspire artists like myself.
Designers poured their all into making the female bots stand out. Airachnid is top brass, Elita-1 distinct, Arcee faithful to her original, Chromia polished and the female Primes Solus and Quintus the most original of the bunch.

Man they absolutely COOOOKED with these designs. Tbh I didn't notice how much smaller the miners were without their cogs, that adds so much to the worldbuilding/lore/plot/whatever (kinda wish it was a bit more obvious in the movie, but maybe that's just me)

I’m also a fan of how they did her multiple eyes, instead of doing the straight forward approach of having them all on her face they’re on the sides which gives her a panoramic view which is a lot more tactical

So them completely abandoning the 13th Prime in favor of Zeta Prime makes me very happy.

The design that really makes me think there was a Wipeout fan in the design team is the one at 13:40 when I saw it a few days ago on Reddit. There hasn’t been a reflector toy since WFC siege I didn’t even get a chance to get him or at least three of him to make his camera mode. Hopefully they do make a studio series figure of this one.

How cool is it they pitted Airachnid against Elita-1. Given that Airachnid took bits of Blackarachnia design and Elita-1 was mutated into Blackarachnia in Animated cartoon. I want them to be archnemesis to each other and Elita-1 get a jet alter to have an epic dogfight with Airachnid in the sequels.
I think it has probably been upgraded by Sentinel Prime or the fact that D-16/Megs had multiple Primes T Cogs making his body get stronger due to taking on aspects of them(Head Canon)

It’s an absolute shame that Reflector was cut from the film. I just hope that they appear in the sequel.
