Better Call Saul: Ranking Every Jimmy McGill Scam
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 20 окт 2024
- To celebrate (or mourn) the death of James McGill and the birth of Saul Goodman in Season 5, we're ranking every Jimmy McGill scam from the first 4 seasons of Better Call Saul!
#1 is truly the moment where Hank became ASAC Schraeder.
Messing with that old lady is the worst thing Jimmy has ever done.
I stand by my statement
Isn’t it strange how many other things in this and breaking bad are cruel but when it comes to the old lady that is the most evil shit on the planet 😂
It’s so bad even he felt bad about it
Something about Vince Gilligan shows does this thing where the actual big crimes aren't nearly as heinous feeling as the little pet peeve stuff.
Maybe it's because the pet peeve stuff hits closer to home generally
"He defecated through a sunroof!" Chuck Migill
The Mrs. Landry scam was worse than Mike killing Werner, worse than Walt letting Jane die, and worse than Jesse killing Gale. Nothing between the two shows will surmount the horrible heartlessness of that scam.
Shame season 5 wasn't out. Saving that old man's house would definitely be number one
Nowhere near bailing out a drug lord by hand-delivering $7m cash.
@@petrowegynyolc7108 wouldn't really consider that a "scam"
@@PASTELXENON having the fake family
Yuuuup
yyyuuupppp
The one that definitely makes me uncomfortable was his scheme to sabotage Mrs. Landry's friendship to get his paycheck...
yeah but he redeemed himself pretty well after
@@massiveeyebrows4482 true. He pretty much ruined his career in elder law
@@tovbytei liked that Jimmy arc and there is a parallel universe where he's the top elder lawyer in the state. I hear the ads now, "Slip and fall? Better call Saul!"
"to try and sucker people into thinking this show is going to be as high stakes and tense as breaking bad" lmaooo he MUST have wrote this before season 5
Read the description.
@@xenopath8069 lol HA I KNEW IT! When Lalo had Jimmy and Kim in the apartment going over their story I lost years off my LIFE. thanks for pointing that out.
@@bascal133 You're welcome bud.
Season 6 is even more highstakes now
@@ablone you can say that again.
I don’t think the writers were trying to trick Better Call Saul viewers into thinking its as intense and fast paced as BrBa, they wrote those scenes between Tuco and Saul to show that he can literally talk his way out of any situation. Truthfully I think characters like Gus are even scarier in BCS because we get a much deeper look into their backstories
Yeah that scene was critical and foreshadowed how close Jimmy and the Cartel were going to get. Although it's a pointless scene if you watched Breaking Bad and already knows Saul's future. As a guy who watched BCS first the scene was great
Well also that small event was the catalyst for the whole connection between Saul and Nacho and Mike
The best written show about lawyers ever
Doubly impressive because the main character spends half of the show disbarred. But who needs the lawyer qualifier - I just call it best written show!
Ironic
@@SlipMaker like how they're only cooking meth for a couple episodes in breaking bad and kiryus only in the yakuza for like 10% of the yakuza games
@@SlipMaker They show a lot lawyering but it’s just not Inside a court. It’s in everyday moments.
I’d say con artist
The drumstick slip just looks so painful and I've never even hurt my back.
mmmh well don't do it... the payoff is never good enough lol
It also looked hilarious when first watched. I was laughing out loud from that.
Now that the first part of Season 6 came out, we know that the 'Ham- Scam' is probably the most trickiest, best/worst and darkest Scam of them all. It really has to be, if you suffer only by watching the victim get scammed. Jimmy really outdid himself there and Kim was the motivational fuel they poured over good ol' Howie.
Them having sex immediately after the scam was so vile lmao
Up until 611 at least
the robbing the mall scam was also hilarious and it worked so well! despite the fall
SPOILER WARNING
Jimmy McGill scams in Season 1: Selling a fake coin
Jimmy scams in Season 6: murdering howard
YO, spoilers my guy!
Christ dude
@@purplewhatevers it doesnt actually happen
@@joeyhardin5903 then whats the point?
Merely trolling
The realization that Fifi was around not just 9/11 but the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY is pretty mind blowing, part because it gives us a very specific time frame but also because, yeah, that’s some boldness, for lack of a better word.
dumb ass is the word black site nothing you go beyond that for that shit. oh fuck i said to much
@@hardwirecars I don't think you said anything at all
@@hardwirecars jesse what the fuck are you talking about
the word is audacity
Ironically Jimmy was doing good by scamming people back in the day with Marco. He was attacking the people who often take advantage of other people much like his father, which Chuck always blamed Jimmy for his dads shops down fall.
Not always, many were just gullible people, like his father.
He was targeting people who would fool for it due to greed etc it wasn't a good thing
I mean, I wouldn't say it's dishonest with Tuco's episode, it's just one episode to establish how good he is at negotiating with crazy drug dealers.
That’s the scene that sold me on the show
I always thought Chuck killed himself; I'd never even considered he was running an insurance scam that went wrong until I watched this. Whoa.
haha, full disclosure I think he killed himself, I was just goofing around with that line
@@SlipMaker HA! I bought every line; I bet you'd execute a slip n fall like a pro
how else do you think I got the money for my recording mic? Slip and fall season!
@@racheljwallace he’s slip maker for a reason :P
@@SlipMaker to be fair, accidentally commuting suicide during an incurance scam sounds like something a McGill would do
I knew compilation like this would exist, but I did not expect it to be this well made. Good job!
Season 5 got some great scams as well.
Vilkku oh man, there have been so many scams JUST trying to save that house. My mind was on fire trying to figure out where each one fits into the ranking! haha
i was thinking i would want a compilation but didn’t expect it to happen
@@SlipMaker Update video???
Maybe when the show’s over it’s time to redo this list again cause I know one scam that ended a lot worse than the Kettleman scam…
Some of Jimmy's scams are so well done that they could be entire heist movies on their own, and given the length of Better Call Saul's episodes, they technically are.
great video. I would aruge that the Tuco episode isnt a "bait" episode, it may be an episode designed to draw veiwers in but I wouldnt say it was "bait" i mean theres plenty of action and tension in the show its not misrepresenting anything.
Good point Mack! "Bait" might be a bad way of putting it - after watching Season 5, I guess my feelings on the sequence in the first two episodes is that, since the show reached those dangerous stakes so quickly, the escalation in the episode Bagman feels a bit less impactful because you kind of go "oh, well... Jimmy's been here before" haha. Thanks for watching!
I think the most important part of that scene, is before they even discuss the two skateboarders. It was when they were questioning Jimmy. They didn't believe him until Jimmy told them what they wanted to hear. Foreshadowing the speech jimmy gives to the bar about Chuck
This wasn’t out when this video came out but the best was making every lawyer believe howard was on drugs
I felt so bad for Howard.
He got his car crushed with bowling balls, all the lawyers turned against him when Jimmy made the fake picture and used fake cocaine, and still killed by Lalo.
That Kennedy coin thing is REALLY smart
The more clever one is in season 4 with a Indian Penny since it is even rarer than a Kennedy coin.
Smarter than Inception .. Because oh wait it is INCEPTION! 🍷
The most hilarious was huels church scam
It was genius and great to see huel become a hero for about 2 hours
The best prank he ever did was bringing Lalo to his nice conversation with Kim and Howard
That one blew my mind!
"to try and sucker people into thinking this show is going to be as high stakes and tense as breaking bad"
i know this video was made before season 5 and 6 but it's still really funny to hear
His greatest scam: convincing a woman that he is Kevin Costner 🤣🤣
And it worked because he believed it!
For like 5 seconds, you really got my hopes up. This was just randomly recommended to me by the algorithm tonight. And when you said it returns February 23rd I got so happy and excited, before realizing this was a year old and you were talking about last season. Still, that was a good 5 seconds
It is coming for season 5 February 23rd or 24th 2021 in u.s.
@@AstronomicalAviation uh...
@@CoolJoshido212 my thoughts too
@@AstronomicalAviation its ok its coming out this month wooo
I don't know what it is Slip but you really came out swinging with this video, I'm on my 6th rewatch and it gets better everytime. I've got my hopes up for a Series review once S6 is over because you and your videos are absolute gems.
9:30 my guy really used that Ratchet and Clank OST
tfw when megacorp
I noticed that too around 12 mins in XD. What a legend!
It's unfortunate to see such a high-quality video with such little recognition. This was really well put together and I hope you get the recognition you deserve for this and your channel soon!
This is an excellent edited and excuted video.
Finally got the chance to watch this. This is really well done. Great editing and voice work. This must have taken a while to put together, if only to re-watch a bunch of the episodes and place the scams in order, but you definitely have a knack for this. Keep it up. For myself, the battery plant and billboard scams have always been my favorites.
“This must have taken a while to put together, if only to rewatch a bunch of the episodes” Implying there’s anything else I would rather do with my time than rewatch this show.
@@SlipMaker I will not and can not argue against that.
"we're all dying to see oue favorite television lawyer: Kim Wexler" you are factually correct I love her 😭
Subbed. Funny witty commentary and a bit of Fallout NV and Ratchet and Clank OST show you are a man of culture. Great video
personally the billboard episode is the best for me, cause you know jimmy had to lay it on thick to get him up there, and to take the fall. ive been saved a bad fall by those harness's before. they work (when fitted and secured properly,) but you couldn't pay me to take a fall like that. harness or not.
I definitely liked the Party Down reference. Grossly underrated show.
I may have to revisit it on this channel very very soon....
The Guttenberg party is one of my all time favorite TV episodes.
By the time it sadly ends this could overtake Breaking Bad as my favorite show of all time, and I honestly NEVER thought that was possible! The season 6 mid season finale is now my second favorite episode of TV ever behind only the last episode of Breaking Bad. I have no higher praise than that.
The worst thing that Jimmy did was the falsification of Mesa Verde documents.
2:40 New Vegas guitars are oddly appropriate lol
This Video deserves more views!!!
Great video, deserves more views. First thing is that the show as ramped up in intensity since you made this video
And second the Mesa Verde meeting would definitely be up there
Good video. It'd be cool to have a part 2 with the season 5 and season 6 scams aswell.
Also, nice selection of R&C music ;)
For 20 Years I was a Cliff Rescue Instructor and falling in a Harness is absolutely Painless. Whatever the guy in #3 was paid to fall, No Nuts or Balls were harmed or even inconvenienced.
Irene is the sweetest on screen old lady I’ve ever seen. And it hit very close to home with all her friends “turning” on her. Obv manipulation.
I don't think the Tuco scene was meant to "bait" the audience. I think they put Saul in a very similar situation as Walt and Jesse in season 2 and asked: "how would THIS character get out of it?"
Tbh first seasons of breaking bad didnt had many action as well, compared to season 5 and 6 it is nearly the same ammount, the action scene he used was from season 2
woah man you for sure deserve more than 747 subs with this quality, it's really amazing ngl
please remake this! i'd love to hear your thoughts on the character assassination... it was technically successful
Last place: the Howard scam
lol you used Phoenix Wright music in the cellphone battery scam. I bet you watched that video about the trial with Phoenix Wright music and style.
Needs more views but kevin costner should have been numero uno
The letter one is the greatest con on this show, it was on the New York Times channel that’s how good it was.
WTF You only have 332 subs ??? You’re criminally underrated this channel is amazing how ?!??
We need an updated version of this video
Fine job. Both TV show and compilation.
I successfully changed my report card more than a few times, using Jimmy's technique
Really don't you need a print shop for that.
@@evm6177 You need a copy machine, scissors, and a glue stick. Those are found at stationary stores.
I didn't have a scanner at home, plus using a consumer grade printer makes the report card look fake. It has to feel like it came off a big machine.
@@hardpack187 So like that's it, no one would think of scratching around the cutout or nothing? 🤷♀️ won't they notice.
@@evm6177 Take the original, make two copies (you want to keep the original clean) Take letters from copy A and paste them on copy B. Make another copy of that. Now you have a clean and smooth report card.
Did you think that I just handed my mum a report card covered in glue, with letters missing?
@@hardpack187 Ya it's all in the details, that figures. Great work by the way man.
Chicanery caught me off guard, but I KNEW I liked you when you put in fallout New Vegas music!
And you got a counterfeit Mr. House as a pfp too. Wow
please make an updated version of this
I'm surprised this has so little views this was really good
Great vid dude, you should do more better call Saul/breaking bad rankings
Once the final season of Saul airs, I’ll be making one on all the scams he does across both Breaking Bad and BCS under the name Saul Goodman. I’ve been thinking of doing one ranking all of Walt’s... lets call them “chemistry experiments” too...
The defence of Huell is fucking hysterical
underrated channel my dude, amazing vid
6:10 Technically the 1st worst experience since BB is 4 years later
Already watched it with my vpn and lalo has a attempted assassination but survives and realizes that nacho is the double agent.
I love that shot of Nacho’s silhouette as he flees the compound, this show don’t miss.
I love that two of these are from my favorite episode, Fifi.
I don't think that the pilot episode lied to the audience. They just had to made it high stakes so that the show would get accepted. Without it, we'd have no better call saul.
I understand that take, and realize I came across a bit harsh in the video. My main issue is just that when we're getting to the really dangerous stuff like what happens in "Bagman", there's a part of me now thinking "eh, Jimmy's been through stuff like this before". It's a personal taste thing, but I wish the show held off until Season 5 so that the greater stakes would be all the more frightening when they occur. That being said, if amping up the stakes was what they needed to keep this show running in the early years, more power to them, 'cause this is my favorite show of all time and I can't imagine it getting cancelled prematurely.
@@SlipMaker I get what you're saying. Personally, Better Call Saul is my favorite show too -- even better than Breaking Bad. I really hope that Season 6 reaches my expectations and maybe possibly goes further. I can't wait to see how Jimmy gets his office in that plaza or whatever. Exciting stuff.
And who knows how the time will be split between past Jimmy as “Saul” and Jimmy as “Gene” in the present. This upcoming season is a true wildcard and I’m nervously excited!
@@SlipMaker same!
12:34 *and number one* : “Chicago Sunroof”
Saving the old man’s house and screwing with Howard would definitely be on an updated list
"Its not like sandpaper people put on a skimask and mugged old may so put that image out of ur mind" lol by saying that u gave them that image lol love it
Ok. Adding a song that happened to be also in Fallout New Vegas to the video was a coincidence.
But adding a song from Tropico 4 isn't.
Well done, Slip. You got my subscribe
There is no such thing as a coincidence.
Fun fact - The website for Huell is real. When the episode released, I went to the website and actually called the number. It connected to someone whom I told "Hey your number is on this site you probably will want to change it." He thanked me and periodically texted me links to his (trap?) music. Spirit of AVS. I hope he's doing well
Slipping jimmy be really doing trap
This video needs WAY more attention. You probably worked your ass off of this
Soo... i just realised ive watched the entire show but not season one... and I'm so glad theres more to see
imagine if he made this after Howard was duped and murdered
the big scam of season 6 is definitely the new #1
I honestly think that Mrs Landry would have done whatever Jimmy said if he had just told her that settling was the best thing to do.
sneaking in music from new vegas at 2:45 was a stroke of genius
I was just about to comment this
God the Francis theme choice for the number one spot is brilliant.
episode 2 was overall really good in my opinion, it sets up the fact that, yeah we know that jimmy isn’t gonna be in danger cuz we know his future, but that doesn’t stand true for the people around him at alllll.
Hey enjoyed the video - kind of embarrassing that I recognised the music from FNV and ratchet and clank
How can this have 2k views instead of 100k or more
haha thank you!
Season 6: Will Kim finally find out about the cowboy hat?
It's funny knowing what's gonna happen in season 6. His best scam is yet to come
This is actually a really good video. You should have more subs.
its funny how you brought up Jimmy conning Howard to make him embarrass himself in front of people, considering what happened in the recent episode
Fantastic video!
got this recommended by the mighty algorithm. ratchet and clank 2 music in a BCS analysis video? can this get any more niche?? instant sub!
Loving the New Vegas music in this
Jimmy McGill needs to have a long talk with Earl Hickey. I think Jimmy's ultimate goal was to be worthy of self-respect, even if he had no idea how to accomplish it. He tried becoming a lawyer, becoming a public defender, becoming a lawyer in a respected firm, becoming a filthy stinking rich lawyer ... what he needed to do was make a list, then make amends for items on that list.
Ironically, he needed to become a Good Man.
"And less about this..."
FFW season 6.
Yeaaah....
Oh hell yeah. Now this is quality content
damn wit only 157 subs, congrats on all the views on this
Thanks! I’ve got big plans to build off this blowing up a bit... also totally unrelated, but do you know anybody willing to fall off a billboard on camera?
@@SlipMaker id fall off a billboard any day💀
Can you make an updated version?
I haven't seen season 5 yet, but if Mrs. Landry hasn't settled by the time BB starts, then I doubt that Gene is ever going to see a penny from his Sandpiper commission.
The New Vegas music won me over. Congrats, sir to double good taste both in gaming and tv
Oh it’s definitely high stakes in Season 5 and 6
My man used ratchet and clank theme songs, good job :D
"Favorite television laywer- Kim Wexler" YES! 💗
lol love the Phoenix Wright - Cornered music over #4
Really enjoying the slight fucked up humor, and the edited audio for repetitious descriptions.
You gotta make an updated video soon dude
Yeah please
sure it starts slowly, but seasons 3-5 are pretty fun.
